SHE WAS RIGHT
Men were hacking at wood hurriedly building a bridge.
The Pevensie siblings and Trumpkin hid behind a stack of timber watching the men work, desperately trying to find a way around them.
The six Narnians heard a horse's hoofs and immediately lowered themselves, as to not be seen."Perhaps this wasn't the best way to come after all," Susan whispered.
After watching the Telmarine men a little longer, Peter got up and walked back into the woods, where they would be covered. The others falling soon after.➴
They walked back to where Lucy saw Aslan.
"So, where exactly do you think you saw Aslan?" Peter asked standing with Susan.
"I wish you'd all stop trying to sound like grown-ups," Lucy said. "I didn't think I saw him, I did see him." she finished annoyed.
"I am a grown-up." Trumpkin sassed.
"It was right over," the ground beneath Lucy gave out, she screamed as she fell.
"Lucy!" Emma yelled running to her.
When they looked down, however, they saw Lucy sitting a few feet below them safe and sound.
"Here!" she chuckled. Emma sighed in relief.➴
They began walking through the hidden pathway. Lucy stepped on a loose rock, but before she fell, Trumpkin caught her. She looked back to him and smiled. He nodded in response.
Emma looked up and smiled, realizing they made it down safely.Evening became night and the six Narnians settled in for the rest of the night. Lucy looked at the stars, her hands behind her head.
"Lucy, are you awake?" Emma whispered to her youngest sister.
"Hmm." was the only answer Lucy gave. Emma rolled to her side, resting on her arm, Lucy doing the same.
"Why do you think I didn't see Aslan?" She asked the girl.
"You believe me?" she asked bewildered.
"Of course, what Edmund said earlier, about looking stupid? I'm not making the same mistake as him." Emma answered. Lucy giggled making Emma smile. She always did say Lucy had a contagious smile.
"I don't know," Lucy said. "Maybe you didn't really want to?"
Trumpkin lay awake, listening to the girl's conversation.
"You always knew we'd be coming back here, didn't you?" Emma asked with a smile on her face.
"I hoped so," Lucy said. Emma laid back down, her hand behind her head now.
"I never really got used to the idea of being in England. I missed it here." Emma explains.
"But you're happy to be here, aren't you?" Lucy asked.
"Of course, I just have a feeling it won't last long," Emma says sadly. Lucy sighed and lays down too, both girls deep in thought, looking to the sky.
