A woman's chant penetrates my consciousness. "Come!" It urges. I open my eyes and see purple fog, seemingly impossible to run from, swirling around me. Wondering amosly, I look around but do not see anyone in site. The fog so thick, hardly any light could pierce through it.
"Where are you?" I shout into the fog, my voice echoing back at me.
"Come... Come." The women replies.
"But where? Where should I 'Come' to?" I shout, with a little frustration.
"Come... Come." She repeats.
Suddenly, from within the fog, a baby's wail sounds. I quickly turn my head to my left. As the baby continues to wail, the purple fog suddenly shows blurry images that flash rapidly around me. I see silver metal and pavement, and the silhouettes of people running. The images start to surround me and become nothing but rainbows of color. My breathing quickens. Tires screech and someone yells out to me. What's happening!? I think distraughtly.
With no warning, a woman's scream fills my head. "NOOOooooooooo!"
I shoot up in bed, gasping, sweat rolling down my face. Sitting up, I hug my knees to my chest, rapping my arms around my knees. My bedroom was silent, with its lavender colored walls. A desk sits across from my bed, and the window to my left, closet to my right. No ones in the room.
It's alright now, Fiera! It was just a dream.... Just a dream. I try and calm myself, but the scream and the women saying come keep playing through my head.
What was that all about?
. . . . . .
Shuffle... Shuffle. I drag my feet down the stairs, since I was sleep deprived, not getting a wink of sleep after I woke up from the nightmare. Before I came down, I had put on my usual attire, consisting of a sweat shirt and sweat pants. Though, this time I didn't bother to brush my hair. Too much work. I think.
I reach the bottom of the stairs and walk the short distance to the kitchen. As I walk into the kitchen, I see Leo and Tony at the table eating breakfast, as well as Kyler and my brother, chatting by the stove...
And all of them are shirtless... O.o
I feel my cheeks turn pink, still getting used to the idea of teenage guys living in my house. For the longest time, it had just been my parents and I, since my brother was kidnapped at the age of eight, but now Josh is home and the boys needed somewhere to stay. Plus, I "needed" some protection during school, and during when my parents are sent out on a mission.
"Good mornin' su-" Tony starts to say with a grin. In the middle of talking, he looks up from his meal and sees my ragged hair and pink cheeks, smile dropping. He raises an eyebrow in question. "Maybe not so sunshiny."
"Did Fiera turn into a Zombie?" Leo asks innocently. Do I really look that bad?
"Are you ok, Fiera?" Josh asks in concern. Totally oblivious, he adds. "Your cheeks are a little red."
Which makes me blush worse. I put my hands on my sides, then huff and let them hang at my side feeling tired. I respond. "I didn't sleep very well last night. A nightmare. I'm fine now, just... surprised."
"Of what?" Kyler asks. I tilt my head in question. Kyler continues. "Surprised. Surprised of what?"
I feel my cheeks turn another shade of pink. Tony arches his eyebrow more, and sees me turn my gaze away from the boys, trying not to look. He grins. Oh no!
