Fiera
"What?!" I exclaim incredulously. Malea goes quiet, and if I could see behind me, I would see a grim Shontelle. This seems like Déjà vu.
"You heard me, Loser. You deserve what Ryan did to you." Michelle barked, her crony, J.C., behind her. Now I remember! Yep, definitely done this before.
I frown and sigh, turning to my locker. "I don't want to hear your crap today."
Michelle smirks while J.C. comments with a snide remark. "Oh, the wittle baby can't handle us today. What should we do Michelle?"
Michelle grins vindictively. "Well, I think we should continue to pester her. She deserves it and all for breaking my precious Ryan's nose."
"Michelle, leave Fiera alone. We don't want to hear it." Shontelle wiggles herself into the conversation.
"Be quiet, traitor." J.C. snaps at Shontelle.
Continuing on with my locker, I say. "What makes you think I broke his nose?"
"Who else would have done or had the time to do that to my Ryan!?" Michelle accused me. That's when I turned to face her.
Ignoring her accusation, I respond with, "And what makes you think he's yours?"
"Because he is." Michelle simply says.
"Or you think he will be. Michelle, he still loves Astrid. Ryan doesn't have any more room to consider loving someone else."
Michelle's confidence falters. "You're lying!"
I keep my gaze steady. "Why would I lie?"
"B-because you just want him back." Michelle back fires.
"I don't want to even see him, better yet, be with him. He loves Astrid, and that, that."
Michelle explodes then. "Liar!" She brings her arm up and swings down to slap me. Instead, she slaps Shontelle, who steps in her way.
Michelle's eyes go wide, and then returns to anger. "Get out of my way, Shontelle."
Shontelle glares at Michelle right back. "You really think Fiera would lie about Ryan loving Astrid? Every single time someone mentioned Astrid around Ryan, he would flinch, clench his knuckles, suddenly look pained, or avoid the topic. That sounds clearly like someone who is still in love. Now, I suggest you go. You're going to miss class. You have to keep that reputation of yours, correct?"
Michelle glares at us and turn on her heals with J.C. at her side. "Is your cheek ok?" I ask Shontelle.
She nods her head. "Just stings a little. I'm tough though. I'll survive."
I turn back to my locker with a pained expression. Dang it! Why does she always get me in the sorest of times?
Golden
Tony and I watch the whole ordeal with the girls. After Shontelle was slapped, and Fiera turned to her locker, I could see the pain clearly from my spot catty corner from her. I wish I new what I could do for her, but being the person I am, I wouldn't know how to go about comforting her. All I know is how to hurt people. My fists clench, maybe I should have punched Ryan more.
Tony interrupts my seething. "You should do something to make Fiera feel better."
I turn to Tony. "Your saying I should go comfort her, when I don't even have one empathetic word in my vocabulary?" I ask.
