Fiera
My eyes go wide. "Guns?!"
Everywhere teenagers ran. The teachers were trying to be brave leaders and keep us from chaos, but despite the teachers trying to keep the high schoolers calm, the students still panicked and started running out the doors. Who's doing this? What are they after?
This time, I hear a gun shot, towards the end where the screaming and Tony's group is at in the gym. Two boys hurried along the wall to the left of Golden and I, saying, "That was Caine Carter they shot at!"
I know that person! A flash back from after Derek's death comes to mind, when Golden fought a long, blond haired boy, who resembled a smaller Thor and whose ability was the power to use any weapon expertly. He's one of Teenage Impossible!
"They had weird goggles on. Ricardo and Sean were also shot at." The other boy added in.
"You think they're alive?" I become frozen in place.
"Like I know! I'm too focused on me living right now. Let's get out of here!"
With that, the two run out the doors of the gym. I could feel the blood drain from my face, as I turn to Golden with fear. "G-golden. Those boys are ours. The gunmen... They're...they're-"
"Targeting mutants." Golden finishes grimly. "We need to go help out the others. Not all of us are capable of protecting ourselves from bullets."
I nod. The two of us start running towards Tony and the others. "Stay by my side, Fiera." Golden calls from in front of me.
Before I can respond, a crowd of high schoolers runs our way, and I'm wrenched from Golden's view. "Golden!" I scream as I'm carried away with the crowd through the doors where the two boys had gone through. We make it through a couple of hallways before I'm able to get free from the crowds clutches. I look around to orientate myself.
I got to get back to the rest! This is crazy! Whoever these people are, why now of all times? Why are they involving humans in our fight? That goes against one of the strongest mutant beliefs. I remember Shontelle and Malea. Shontelle won't be able to protect herself and, since Malea is not able to use her powers, she won't be able to protect herself, either. We need to protect them!
You're no different from them. You can't even use your powers. You're completely worthless in fights. Who's the one who's always being saved? I frown. Where are all of these thoughts coming from? I shake my head.
You're weak! You can't protect anyone! I clench my fists. That's not true! I've learned to fight. Granted, I can't use my powers willingly, but I can still punch someone.
Laughter echoes in my head. Wha-? You think that will do you any good. When against powers, the powerless can't do anything.
Your wrong! I grab my head. Are these really my thoughts?
No matter how much you fight, you'll never be good enough. It's funny how a wimp like you instigated all this.
I haven't started anything!
Who do you think this is all about? All those people that died and who are going to die? Who do you think this is for? You're the one who caused their death. You're the one who caused all of this!
