A few months have passed, Alaia was closer with each and every one of the Stark family. Ned and Catelyn Stark considered her like their own daughter, even though Catelyn would prefer her to be more ladies like, that didn't prevent her from considering her own child. As for the children, they all love her, they consider her like family. Althought Sansa would always find her to be a replica of Arya, she finds her more proper than Arya had ever been with her. She knew how to maintain herself at dinner, unlike Arya who was constantly being annoying, and when she was asked something she would always do it in priority of everything. She was more mature than most could think, but Alaia was only like that because she wasn't in her own house back at Bear Island. She had to represent the whole of the Mormont and she couldn't let her family down. The reputation of her house reside on her shoulder and she couldn't let it down.
When she wasn't asked to do anything in particular, we could find her in the courtyard practising. It could be archery or swordsmanship. When practising, she would always be watched by most of the population who was outside and even the Stark boys. They would watch her in awe, appreciating the accuracy of her movement like she was performing a waltz. Alaia didn't mind the stares, she knew that it wasn't often a woman could be seen doing something that was so manly, but on Bear Island she was raised as a fierce woman like her aunt. The only moment where we could find her distract was when a certain boy would lay his eyes on her. With the passing month, she had learned from Ned the reason she had come to Winterfell. She was set to marry his second son as soon as she had bled. It was only a chance for her to have been chosen, Ned and Cat had laid the choice on her, because she was only a month younger than Bran and since they were still young they could form a bond. They had also chosen her because she was of the north and knew their way. They didn't want to have some mindless southerner girl who could ruin all they had worked for in the ten years of raising their son.
We could ask ourselves why arranged the marriage of their fourth child before the rest. It is only for political reason. Robb was set to be the next Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North, so they had to wait to make sure the choice was right but to also build a stronger alliance with the South and North. As for Sansa, she is their first-born daughter, she has to be prepared to represent the House Stark, she has to be perfect before she could be present to any pretended. Also they hadn't received any marriage proposal for her just yet. And last, but non the less, before Bran is Arya, their second and last daughter. They couldn't set her up with anyone at the moment, for she is too immature and improper just yet to ever conclude a proposal with any other house. The honour then comes to Bran, who wasn't too young and immature nor improper. He was a well-raised lad who could take good care of anyone. He wasn't rough with anyone besides maybe Arya when she would frustrate him showing off how good she was at archery, although no one had taught her how to shoot an arrow.
It was what has been happening at the moment. Arya who had been sewing inside had come outside when she heard someone shooting at a target composed of hay. Bran was there with his brothers, Robb, Jon and Rickon, shooting arrow after arrow try to hit the middle. Alaia was also there watching after she had finished nearly an hour of swordsmanship. Althought archery wasn't his best strength, he told himself that being watched by Alaia made him even less successful than he is normally. As the time had passed, Bran had developed a passion for their new companion. He found admiring Alaia frequently when she is practising in the courtyard. He found her strong and ferocious. He knew she wouldn't take anyone for granted and would always win her duel when sparring. It was even more impressive when it was Theon, his father ward, who would confront her because he was so much older than her. He didn't know at first that what he was feeling was love for her till Jon came asking what he was doing and then make fun of him when he saw where Bran was looking, saying that he was in love with Alaia. When he hadn't made a response, Jon had stopped laughing and was astounded that he had Bran speechless regarding his feeling for Alaia, normally when ask something like his sentiment, Bran would always be defensive but now he hasn't even said anything, not even a sound. He was just standing there looking at Jon not reacting. They had both come to the conclusion that he was for a fact that he had fell in love hard for the girl with a sword. Alaia had become the most important thing in his life and impressing her was his goal. He tried to do so, pulling the string of his bow back and firing an arrow at the target but it passed several metres above it. When he tried again, pulling the string following his brothers' instructions, another arrow came flying past him making the mark. Looking behind him, he found his sister Arya with a bow in hand indicating that she was the one who had shot. He then chased her for making him look like a fool in front of the girl he loves.
Following this moment, Rickon, Jon and Robb began to collect the arrows scattered in the courtyard, when Ser Rodrick comes find Jon and Robb to announce they had to go with their father for an execution and adding that Bran had to come along.
When Lord Eddard and his sons came back to Winterfell, they came bearing gifts. The three boys had in hand direwolves pups, seven to be exact. Six for the Stark children and Jon, plus a lone wolf black as night.
"You're one of us now, Bran tell as he offers the black dire wolf pup to Alaia, how are you going to name it?
-Raven, she replied, since he is as black as their feathers."
The lot of Lord Stark's children plus Alaia scatter away across Winterfell starting to train the little direwolves to behave as their father Ned leaves for the Godswood to find some peace after the execution. But Catelyn come baring the news of Jon Arryn's death and the travel of the King Robert to Winterfell.

Since the news of the King making his way to Winterfell, they had been preparing his venue making provisions for the feast and preparing the rooms for the royal family. Bran had been watching from the top of the walls, preferring to climb them rather than taking the stairs, to be able to say that he saw the king. He had his mother worried each time he did that, fretting over the fact that he could fall anytime.
When the King finally arrives, it wasn't any exception. He was at the top of a wall watching the king's road. As soon as he saw the hundreds of people making their way to Winterfell, he made his way down, Catelyn seeing him and telling him of doing such things once again, but Bran was always sure on his feet, he had never fallen ever since he had first start climbing. Althought the sureness of both his feet, Bran promised to her he wouldn't be seen climbing anymore, emphasis on the word seen. They hadn't noticed, but Alaia was there, looking after him in case something would happen when he climbed. Alaia would have felt remorse if something had happened to him and she could have been there to prevent him. She always lurked in the darkness, an eye on him to make sureness of his well-being.
