Intrepidity

Over the next four years All Beauty Destroyed would become one of the most well known bands across the world. They had international success thanks to fans from every corner of the globe.

They won more awards than they could count and made more money than they knew what to do with.

I had made a name for myself too however. I booked a role with Disney shortly after they got signed. I had my own show for about three years and after that I moved onto film. I was a highly successful actress, before I walked away from it all.

The day she disappeared, I did too.

No one in the media knew what happened and the stories they made up were anything ranging from reasonable to where do you come up with this shit?

My family was concerned, but they understood. I couldn't function without her. I stayed with my parents per their request and Dallas even came to visit me once. I refused to see her because she reminded me too much of who I had lost. They looked so much alike. I spoke to her on occasion though. She called me every once and a while to see how I was doing.

I know the fans were concerned. Our publicists did their best to assure them that we were okay, but they knew something was up. Demi cared too much to just disappear.

She was the kind of person who fought management to keep meet and greet prices non existent since she didn't believe that people should have to pay just to see her in person and say hi. She made sure that soundchecks were free and for those who wanted to come and that concert ticket prices were low, so that anyone could afford them. She leaked their demos and uncut versions of their songs herself because she knew the fans would want to hear them.

Whatever merch they wanted, she oversaw that it was produced. Whatever set list they wanted, she arranged. If they wanted to hear covers, she'd do them. She listened and delivered.

She was also the kind of person who talked to the paparazzi and went out of her way to give them good pictures. "Just helpin pay their bills" was her response when asked why.

Despite her heart of gold, she had a permanent bitch face and came across as unapproachable. Her ability to intimidate others was something she valued and didn't want to loose. Other artists didn't seem to know wether to fear her, hate her or respect her.

She got a lot of bad press for her inability to control her emotions. She was bipolar and didn't take her prescribed medication. I never pushed her too either because I understood why. She found comfort in the madness because it was all she'd ever known. She didn't like the calm. She was addicted to the crazy. The meds took away her ability to feel and numb was the last thing she ever wanted to be.

She was free spirited, wild and often unpredictable, but that's part of the reason why I love her. Without me she'd fly too high and without her I'd never get off the ground.

I was always aware of her violent side as I'd seen it first hand many, many times. I was used to it.

It was a year after I'd started filming and Disney wanted to give my character a love interest. His name was Justin and I couldn't stand him. I went along with it because it was my job, but the second they asked me to kiss him, I threatened to quit. I'd only signed the contract on grounds that I wouldn't have to kiss some guy, no matter what for.

They knew I wasn't bluffing and dropped the subject. Long story short Justin decided he would kiss me anyway and I told Demi immediately.

It's not that I couldn't handle the situation on my own, but that we built our relationship on our friendship and we built our friendship on trust and honesty. Chances are she was going to find out sooner or later and either way it wasn't going to end well for him.
