Karma really is a bitch and Joe Carney was about to find out just how much.
Now don't get me wrong, I've always been a person of principle. I live by certain standards and I'd like to believe I have good morals, but I was desensitized to the evils of the world so long ago that going somewhere with the intent to kill didn't give me a sense of guilt. I felt no remorse in knowing what I was about to do and had done to others in the past. Violence is essentially all I've ever known. Some of my earliest memories are of things I legally shouldn't tell anyone about.
I wouldn't say I was proud of myself, but I'm not exactly ashamed either. My actions were justified in my mind. Joe fucked me over one too many times. That wasn't something I could just let go.
He owned a penthouse in Manhattan, no doubt under a name that was not his own. I made my way to the top floor only to find the door unlocked. He was expecting me.
"Hello darling."
"Carney." I acknowledged him.
"I've been waiting."
"I had business to take care of." I said indifferently.
"I don't suppose that business had anything to do with that little girlfriend of yours did it? Selena is her name correct?" The mention of her made my blood boil.
"I've already told you once. You leave her out of this!" I fumed.
"I was simply asking a question. There's no need to raise your voice DeeDee."
"Would you stop fucking calling me that?" I rolled my eyes.
"You've been awfully hostile lately. Can't we just talk?" He smirked.
"No, your voice annoys me." I snapped.
"You know... I haven't taken the time to appreciate your body until now. It almost makes up for your complete lack of manners." His eyes roamed my figure and I was utterly disgusted.
"I oughta shoot you in the ass for that comment alone." I grimaced.
He was too quick, landing a solid punch to my rib cage, before I could react. My face contorted in pain, but a strong right hook from me sent him to the floor.
"You hit your girlfriend like that? I bet it helps her get off doesn't it?" He taunted and I saw red.
I didn't stop until he was unconscious and my hands matched his face, bruised, cut open and bleeding. I picked him up and tied him to a chair, then went into the kitchen to find a pack of reds and a bottle of Jack since homeboy wouldn't be using them anytime soon. I was washing his blood off my hands when I heard a groan from the living room. "Nice of you to join me. Did you have a nice nap?" I smiled.
"Fuck you." He said and spat blood.
"No thanks, that's Selena's job." I lit a cigarette and inhaled before blowing the toxic smoke in his direction.
"I'm sure that bitch is nothing but a lousy lay." I whipped out my gun and shot him in the dick so fast he didn't see it coming. No one talks about her like that.
His screams subsided after some time. "You done now?" I asked.
He ignored my question and returned it with his own. "After everything I've done for you, you do this?" He gritted his teeth.
"Correction, everything you've done to me. You fucking drug me, keep me in a basement for six months, then ask why I'm doing this? I really thought you were smarter than that Carney." I frowned.
"You wouldn't kill me even if hell froze over." He seemed so sure of himself.
"Better get Satan a coat then." I popped the cap off the beer and poured it over him.
"You don't want to do this." He tried.
"Actually I do."
"Darling-" He was cutoff by me covering his mouth in ductape. I was tired of listening to him.
"I would apologize, but death is everyone's finality and It seems as though your time has come early." I flicked my cigarette onto him.
"See you in hell."
