Chapter 29 - Furious

- Meliodas Pov -

I paced around the tavern, an agitated expression carved into my facial features. Diane and King were both sitting at the bar, watching me.

"Cap-"

"Don't!" I yelled at King. He closed his mouth and turned his back to me.

"Don't treat him like that!" Diane retorted while standing up and glaring at me. "I understand that your stressed...but our son is out there too!"

I groaned as I ran my fingers through my hair. "Your SON was the one that took my daughter away!" She huffed and plonked back down onto the bar stool. Point made.

"Mel...please calm down...I bet they're fine." Zeldris spoke carefully from behind the counter. If he said the wrong thing then he could end up 6 feet under. I inhaled deeply before losing it.

"Haven't Any Of You Thought That Something Has been off about those two!? Melody isn't telling me something...I'm just really worried about her." They all looked at me and then nodded. The stairs began to creek, the sudden sound scared me and I got into a fighting stance, and then someone began talking, grabbing everyone's Attention and making them look in that direction. I instantly relaxed as Merlin's face came into view.

"You know...you guys really need to go find them." We all watched Merlin as she walked down the stairs as if entrancing the Royal Ball. "She could be dying for all we know."

"Well obviously." Gowther chimed in, not too far behind. "I've noticed something about her also." He said in a monotone voice as he pushed up his glasses. "Maybe not dying. But definitely sick."

"Wait? Merlin? Didn't you check up on her a couple of months ago?" Zeldris questioned while crossing his arms over his chest. She nodded slowly.

"And what was it!?"

"Can't say. She said something about if you found out then you'd hurt her..." I didn't know what to say. Was she really that scared of me!? My mark vanished.

"Just tell me. I won't be mad." I spoke meekly.

"Okay... It's because she's Pregnant..."
