Chapter 38 - Panic attack

After the last person left, Merlin got to work on Melody. Curing the infection wouldn't be easy, for a weaker mage at least. But for merlin it was just a simple task.

She pulled the girls top back down, staring at her with soft yet saddened eyes. "I'll tell you when you wake up." Merlin uttered to the girl before sitting down on the end of the bed.
'I wish she had told me sooner'.

"A-aunty Merlin?" The girl struggled to speak as she tried to get up, but the older woman grabbed her hand.

"You're awake." She spoke while frowning deeply.

"W-what's wrong w-with me!?" She cried with a shaky voice.

"Well, firstly I got rid of the markings by using my Absolute cancel, But sadly by that time it had already reached your abdomen and..."

"And what!?"

"I'm sorry, but...You...you lost the Baby." The mage looked away from the girls now distraught face.

"I...L-lost the...baby?" Melody shook and began to sob loudly, tearing her throat apart as she let out a heart-rending cry. The mage could do nothing but sit there and try to calm her down so she could finish explaining to her.

"Melody...I'm sorry I didn't tell you this sooner, but you were really having twins. Only one of them is dead."

The young girl stopped screaming for a second and glared at the mage with murderous intent. Tears decorating her pale cheeks.

"why didn't you tell me i was having twins!?" She yelled loudly at the mage, feeling ready to slap her across the face.

"I only kept it from you because you were too young to carry both of them and one was probably going to die after birth." She tried to explain calmly but the girl wasn't having it.

"THEY WERE STILL MY KID! NOT TELLING ME DIDN'T MAKE IT HURT ANY LESS!" Melody was full on bawling her eyes out at this point.

"I DID IT TO PROTECT YOU!" Merlin screeched and got up aggressively, stomping towards the door and opened it, throwing herself out of it and slamming it shut.

Melody was furious at this point and wanted nothing more than to go and beat the fucking witch to death.

"YEAH! OF COURSE YOU WOULD JUST LEAVE, YOU BITCH!" She screamed at the door. The tears were falling freely onto the white linen bedsheets and Melody grit her teeth while clutching the covers tightly. "Of course."

Seconds later there were loud and hurried footsteps outside of the room.
Melody sat up more and got ready to fucking murder Merlin for coming back. The door swung open and Helbram ran in, tears running down his face and his entire body shaking.

"M-Melody." He cried and ran towards her, throwing his arms around her and holding her tight; his arms wrapped around her stomach as he knelt on the ground sobbing. "Th-the b-baby...y-you lost the baby."

"I-I know...b-but...it w-was only o-one of th-them." She squeezed him tight and cried into his shoulder.

"W-what?"

"I was meant...meant to have twins, but Merlin didn't tell me." She hated having to tell him all of this, the bitch should have because it was her fault. But now Melody had to break her lovers heart by explaining to him that they were really meant to have twins.

"I...I can't take this, I think I'm about to break." His pain laced voice made Melody's very being shatter into a million pieces.

"Why does everything in my life have to be like this?" The blonde murmured sadly.

"Because life is fucked up."
