Chapter 48 - Purgatory

I groaned as I got up off the hard yet warm ground. The heat was atrocious and my head hurt like a bitch. "Where am I?" I groaned as I put my hand on my forehead. The atmosphere was thick with malice and my eyes suddenly widened as the overwhelming realisation hit me like a ton of bricks, I looked around at the hellscape known as Purgatory with my mouth agape. "Fuck, guess I'm dead." I said while puting my hands on my hips. I looked down at my suddenly flat stomach with surprise; almost saddened by the thought of not having my baby bump anymore. "Well, guess I'm just gonna have to wait here for a while till I get brought back...it's kinda weird being dead." I mumbled.

"Indeed." Said a deafening voice. I flinched and got into a fighting stance out of instinct; putting my fists up in defence. The voice laughed at me as loud footsteps began echoing in the distance, getting closer and closer until a giant figure came into view. I glared up at him with narrowed eyes as I figured out who it was.

"What do you want from me?" I questioned loudly, he looked back down at me with no expression.

"Oh nothing...I just came to greet my grandaughter, that's all." The demon king explained with a sickeningly fake softness. I cringed at the feeling of being called his grandaughter...especially seeing as he most likely knew how I died. The old man scoffed suddenly just as I thought about Helbram. "I saw how you died...I also saw how you decided to breed with that disgusting fairy. That wasn't very ethical...specially as a royal member of the demon clan." He lectured as if I cared for his opinion, which I did. The way he talked about Helbram made me grit my teeth in anger.

"YOU SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH! WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE MY DECISIONS WHEN YOU WERE NEVER THERE!" I growled as my eyes turned onyx.

He simply chuckled at my sudden display of aggression. "How cute, looks like I pissed you off. You really are like your father, Melody."

I scoffed as I ignited my fist with hell flame. "You wouldn't know a damn thing about me...because if you did, then you would know that I'm not like my father..." I paused as I surrounded myself with fire and malice, allowing it to mould around my body. "I'M MORE LIKE MY MOTHER!" I declared furiously as I launched myself at the giant. "And I'm about to defy a god, so fuck you, old man!" I laughed as I flipped him off mid air.

"Very well." He responded enthusiastically before swinging his massive ass sword, knocking me into the dry, hot ground. "Come at me."

I smiled as I wiped the blood from my mouth, my body covered in darkness as I remained in assault mode. The demon kind brought down his mighty sword once more, but I was smart and quickly got out of the way before he swatted my ass like a fly. He grunted as I launched a sphere of red light at him. "Hell bound flame!" I screeched as it hurled toward him and hit him directly in the chest. The demon king seemed stunned so I took that as my chance to escape.

I began sprinting away, desperate to get somewhere safer so I could leave purgatory in peace... but that wasn't happening cuz my legs began decaying and floating upwards as pieces of light. I sighed as my body faded out of purgatory right before the demon kind went to take another swing at me.

"Fuck yes!" I yelled before I completely left that hell.

Sorry, I just realised that I forgot to add this chapter, but at least it makes more sense now.
