Chapter 30 - shit

- Meliodas Pov -

"W-what!?" I hissed at her, the markings reappearing on my flesh.

"Look..." She paused. " I shouldn't have told you-" I slammed my fist into the wall and glared daggers at her.

"SHOULDN'T HAVE TOLD ME!? SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME HERSELF!"
I screamed as if it was the most obvious and easy thing in the world. My wrath causing the tavern to shake violently and darkness to shoot out of my body like bullets from a gun. "I'M GOING TO KILL THAT BOY!" The shadows pulled me in and shut out the light.

I'm going to find them...and punish them both. Mainly Helbram because he knocked up my FUCKING DAUGHTER!
I summoned two wings of darkness and then quickly flew out of the tavern, leaving a giant hole in the roof.

- Melody Pov -

'What a relaxing hot spring!' I thought as I dunked my head under the crystal clear, mineral filled water.
It was nice to be able to relax at least a little bit...right?
Well I guess that wasn't true, because I was actually constantly thinking and worrying about my kid. I splashed some more warm water onto my face and then leaned back, relaxing as I felt a small kick. "Well hey there." I cooed to unborn ears as I drew a circle on my stomach.

I went under the water again, a feeling of warmth washing over me.

I resurfaced suddenly to rub my eyes.

"What'cha doing?" A voice spoke huskily behind me. A little startling.

"Nothing, just enjoying the water." I heard footsteps and a smile spread across my face as Helbram came up behind me and began playing with my soaking wet hair. Tying it up into a bun with the hair tie he always keeps on his wrist.
Every time that I felt like I was going to be sick, he would always put my hair up and stroke my back.

"Mind if I join you?" He husked into my ear, shivers ran up my spine even though I was in warm water.

"Sure." I flashed him a grin similar to my fathers.

The time had gone by extremely quickly, about an hour and a half to be exact. They still remained in the hot spring, just enjoying each others company.
Melody sat on Helbram's lap as his hands sat firmly on her stomach. She had already fallen asleep, so he decided to wake her.

"Hey? Lody? We need to get out now." He whispered in her ear. She groaned and opened her eyes.

"Pick me up...please?" She mumbled while gazing at him with a tired expression. "Being pregnant is haaaaaaaard." He chuckled and pinched her cute little round cheeks. (On the face...you dirty minded humans!)

"Fine..." He kissed her on the nose and then lifted her smaller body out of the water. Taking her back to the cave. It wasn't much, but they don't really need anything fancy, the cave was enough.

They quickly got changed and then took their usual places near the fire.
Melody sat against the wall, humming and stroking her stomach.
Helbram just watched her lovingly, fighting the urge to go and kiss her right at that second.

He eventually shuffled closer to her until he was also leaning against the wall. He then gazed down at were his girlfriends hands were and smiled, reaching out and gently grabbing her waist. "Can I?" He ask sweetly. She simply nodded and smiled.
Helbram took that as a definite yes and pressed his ear to her belly, resting his hand just above that. Melody ran her soft, small hand through his hair as he lay listening to their child's heartbeat.

"I can hear them." He laughed and nuzzled into her more.

She smiled softly.
"I know right? Isn't it amazing?" She beamed as she continued to run her hand through his soft brown hair. "They're even more active when you're around." Melody explained just as she felt a small kick.

Helbram's breathe hitched suddenly. "I f-felt that..." He whispered with his face hidden in his lovers shirt; trying to avoid her direct eye contact as he knew she would question his sudden change in behaviour.

"Are you crying?" She asked while holding back a giggle; staring at her beloved with a soft and adoring smirk.

"N-no! I just have d-dust in my eyes! Th-that's all!" He stuttered as he buried his face even further into her stomach to try and stop the tears. She sighed and ruffled his hair while looking at the crackling embers.

"You're gonna be a great dad, you know th-" Melody got suddenly cut off by a loud sound, quickly followed by a strong gust that blew dust into the cave and snuffed out the fire. It frightened her and made her cower back in fear. Helbram Reacted quickly by wiping his face and moving to his feet; regaining his mental composure for the sake of his family.
The cave walls shook as another explosion went off outside. "Oh no!.." She cried, the tears of realization flowing from her petrified emerald eyes."he's here! He knows! Helbram where are you!? I can't see where you are!" She cried out and tried to get up but he gently put his hands on her shoulders and kept her seated.

"Don't move, it's too dangerous right now." He whispered in a dead serious way; Melody could feel his over protectiveness begin to show in his tone and she shivered. "Just don't get up." Helbram instructed and quickly straightened up and summoned his sacred treasure atherion; the spear he received from the sacred tree even though he wasn't the fairy king.

"Stay in here okay? The fire got blown out so you can go hide in the shadows, I'm just going to go outside." He explained calmly while searching for the person who made the explosion. "And don't come outside!" She nodded with tears tumbling down her cheeks.

"I FOUND YOU!"
