CHAPTER 16:

The next day I woke up really early. I quickly took a shower and changed my clothes. I went to check on everyone making sure they weren't doing anything dangerous. After that, I went over to the kitchen and started to make our lunch. I made sure that I packed a bento box for Tobio as well. Once I was done that, I went to fetch the tiny backpack I found for Tobio and made sure I brought all the stuff needed for a 5 year old child.

I went to make breakfast (don't even ask what I made-) and went to wake up Kenma, Kuroo, Azusa and Kirito. "Hey, wake up, people! We have school today and we don't wanna be late!!" I yelled up the stairs. I heard a bunch of shuffling and groaning, but I was pretty sure everyone was awake.

We decided to leave the house slightly earlier than usual because, one: Tobio is only 5, and he's gonna get tired of walking. Two: there's snow! And who doesn't like snowball fights? Three: we still had to think of a way for Sensei to let a 5 year old child into his class.

When we got to class the bell just rang and we still didn't think of a way for sensei to let Tobio into his class. "Oh god." I muttered under my breath. We had no choice but to get into the school, otherwise we would be late. Kuroo and Azusa went off to their classes and wished us luck with Tobio.

"Uhm, Sensei?" I said, the first one walking into class, Tobio hiding behind my legs. "Yes, Miss (F/N)?" He said, looking at me through his glasses. Before I say anything, I'll tell you I lied to sensei a bit. "My mother's friend went on a business trip and she wanted me to babysit her child. But since today is a school day, I decided to bring him to class. And I was just wondering, is it okay if a five year old child is in your class today? He's very obedient and quiet, and uh, he can sit for a long time and I brought stuff to keep him occupied." I rambled, telling him the half truth. The glasses slipped from Sensei's nose. "Uh, sure, we could use a new student in this class." He said, slowly nodding. "I'll go talk to the principal." Sensei said, standing up.

I went to my desk and sat down. Tobio made himself comfortable on my lap and everyone crowded around me. "Oh my god! He's so cute!" "What's his name?!" "Can I play with him?!" "Ahhhh, sit with me today!!!" I heard from the people that formed a rough circle around me. Tobio started to squeeze my fingers. "Oh, uhm, maybe later." I said, wrapping my arms around Tobio to make him feel safe.

It was finally lunch time and Tobio was so hungry at break time I had to go to the vending machine and buy him some milk. "Here Tobio, I brought you lunch." I said, unwrapping his bento box. I decided it would be better if we went to the cafeteria to eat since we had more room to sit. "Kuroo, we're going to go to the cafeteria, you wanna come with us?" I asked once I was in his classroom. Kenma, Kirito, and Azusa were saving us some seats in the cafeteria. "Sure." Kuroo said, getting his bento out of his bag. We were walking out of the classroom and I could swear I saw Mio glaring at me. Sadly, she couldn't do anything rash to me since I had a cute little five year old by my side.

"Tobio, open wide." I said, spoon feeding him. "Ahhhh..." He said, opening his tiny mouth. When he was busy chewing his food, I stuffed my mouth as well. Kuroo lightly laughed. "You sure are busy, (F/N)-chan." He said, wiping a fake tear from his eye. I just smiled at him.

Kirito suddenly scooted way too close to me. I swallowed my food. "Is there anything I can help you with?" I asked him. He nodded vigorously. "Don't tell me..." I said, getting an idea of what he wanted. Well, if you don't understand, I'll explain: He could've very well just said what he wanted, but instead, he nodded. And, who else doesn't talk that much? Tobio. You can probably guess what he wanted me to do. He wanted me to feed him as well. I sighed. "Seriously, Kirito? You're already in college." I said, rolling my eyes. "Ooooh, I wanna be fed by (F/N) too!" Kuroo said, poking his head between me and Kirito. Surprisingly, even Kenma seemed interested.

We went back to class and luckily, I convinced them that I would spoon feed them when we got home. "Since you all know that tomorrow is Christmas, I would like you all to help put up the tree in the gymnasium." Sensei said, pushing his glasses up his nose. There was a bunch of groaning and cheering. Tobio looked up at me. "Don't worry, Tobio, you can help too! You can hang the ornaments!" I said, attempting to cheer him up. "I also have some candy for your hard work today!" I exclaimed.

"Alright, everyone! Start assembling the tree!" Sensei called. "Yes, sir." Everyone said. And we all went to the storage room. Someone decided to give me the instruction book out of all 32 people in my class. We started to clean out a big space in the middle of the gym where the tree would go. "Hey, (F/N)! Is this good?" Someone called over to me. I looked over. "Mhm, yeah." I called back.

We built at least half of the tree by the time it was home time. "Good job, guy. I think we'll get this done by tomorrow." I said, nodding my head. "C'mon Tobio, we're going to volleyball club now." I said, picking Tobio up and taking my bag. I looked around trying to find Kenma or Kuroo but they apparently ditched me. "Heh, my friends are so nice. Right, Tobio? At least you didn't ditch me." I said, patting Tobio's little head. He nodded.

We arrived at the gym and I told Kuroo to watch Tobio and make sure he doesn't do anything dangerous, and I went to the changing room. Once I closed the door behind me, I sighed and sat down. Life is so hard. I thought. All my other friends absolutely hate me now. It's probably because I... I'm mean? I don't help them? I play with boys? I'm not smart enough? I thought, tears threatening to fall from my eyes. "At least I have Kuroo and Kenma." I muttered, wiping my tears away and starting to change.

When I finished changing, they already started to warm up. I scanned their little circle and realized Kenma wasn't one of them. I jogged to them. "Hey, where's Kenma?" I whispered to Kuroo. "Huh? I thought you would know." Kuroo said, giving me a look of confusion. "I hope he's okay." I said, walking over to Tobio.

KENMA'S POV

I went to the washroom while they were building the tree. I don't think anyone noticed that I was gone. In the washroom, people were bullying a boy, pushing his head into one of the toilets. I slowly backed out, silently hoping they didn't see me. I decided to head home since I was tired and I didn't want to do anything, especially volleyball. I was afraid my arms might fall off since I haven't been eating.

I was debating whether to go to my house or the apartment (F/N)-chan rented. I settled with my house since my bed was comfier and my room just felt... safe. Besides, I have all my consoles in my house so I could amuse myself by playing some video games.

Once I got home, it was really dark in the house. Mom and dad haven't come home yet. I thought, going to the light switch. The house was just as I left it. I checked my phone for any emails and when I didn't see any, I decided to play some games on my computer.

Suddenly, my phone started to ring. I looked over and it was (F/N). I frowned at my phone. I would normally pick up when (F/N) called, but if I did, I would have to think of a good reason why I came home. I decided to put my phone on silent mode.

I played for a solid 3 hours before someone decided it was a good idea to knock on my door. I annoyingly stood up and went to the window in my room to see who was at the door.
