CHAPTER 17:

I went to the window and I saw Kuroo and (F/N). I felt bad that I was ignoring them, but I didn't want to explain. So I just went back to playing on my computer.

They knocked again. I ignored them. Suddenly, I heard someone screaming outside. I quickly went to the window and I saw (F/N) crying and...wait, where did Kuroo go? I started to panic. DId they get into a fight? Did Kuroo go home? Did he go somewhere else to find me? Are they trying to lure me in? I thought of all the possibilities. (F/N) stood up and wiped her eyes. She glared up at me as if she knew exactly where I was. I gulped. Maybe I should go to school tomorrow...

YOUR POV

The next day at school, we realized Kenma wasn't at school and we started to search for him. I had an idea about where he might be, but I wasn't certain. I dragged Kuroo to Kenma's house and told him to make it look like we got into a fight. I was sure Kenma would come out if he saw me cry, right? But nope, he just stayed in his room and completely ignored me.

The next day he came to school, but he wouldn't talk to anyone. He avoided Kuroo and went home early. I found it really strange, I mean, he didn't even come to volleyball practice. I figured something must be up. Now that I think about it... he might be upset because of Kuroo since that's the reason why he started to cut. Kuroo's been hanging out with Mio a whole lot these days. And then again... his parents are never home and he might be upset because he feels lonely? It hurt my head to think about those possibilities. Tobio on the other hand was extra happy today because I promised him I would go out and buy some red bean buns for him. Kids, right?

I went back to my apartment and the same for Kuroo. It was quieter and emptier without Kenma. I decided that I would do the same as Kenma. I wanted to cut. I saw what Kenma meant when he said he wanted to cut. It just seemed like such a good idea at the moment. I didn't care anymore. Honestly, is there even a point in living? I mean, we'll just all die one day, it's certain. I sighed and called him.

Kenma didn't pick up, not even when I called him 15 times in a row. It was starting to get on my nerves when I realized I could just go to his house and actually physically talk to him. After all, I did have another house key he lent me. And so I went. On the way there I stopped by the local bakery to buy Tobio some red bean buns and since I was there I bought some apple pie for Kenma and a slice of strawberry shortcake for myself.

I knocked on the front door but I wasn't expecting anyone to open the door. I waited for a moment before unlocking the door myself. It was super dark in there. You wouldn't even know anyone lives there. "Kenma?" I called up the stairs and turned on all the lights in the living room and kitchen. I heard nothing from upstairs. "Kenma, I'm not mad, I want to help you, c'mon, come out." I said, as soft and soothing as I could. At last his little pudding head popped out of his room. I smiled with relief.

I took out the desserts I bought earlier and we all started eating. Once Kenma finished eating I noticed he wasn't wearing long sleeves, that's good. It means he wasn't cutting these past few days, at least on his arms he wasn't. Kenma looked extra sleepy, though now that I think about it, he was constantly sleeping in class.

I sighed and decided I would think about it the next day. Tobio started yawning and I decided it was about time he went to bed. "Hey, I'm gonna go take Tobio upstairs, that okay with you?" I asked Kenma. He nodded.

I went upstairs and went to the bedroom I normally stay in when I stay here for the night. "Tobio, you're sleepy, right? How about you go to sleep? Tomorrow we can play together!" I whispered to him and tucked him in. He nodded drowsily. I went to the window to admire the moon for a bit then went out into the hallway and closed the door behind me.

I walked down the stairs and saw Kenma looking so careless like he was ready to die. I checked the time. "Who wants some choco milk?" I asked Kenma, tilting my head and giving him a tiny smile. He looked up at me with his careless eyes and furrowed his eyebrows. "Sure, whatever." He said, standing up and walking over to the sofa. I giggled. "If you want some, just say it directly." I said teasingly. Kenma scoffed. And so I went over and made us some hot choco to drink.
