Chapter 6:

"Hey, mom? I'm home!" I called once I opened the door. Hey, why is no one here? And why are the lights off? I wondered. Oh, well. I couldn't expect my parents to care about me anyway. Tooru probably couldn't make it either. I thought, running up to my room. When I opened the door, I saw Kenma and Tooru playing cards together. "Oh! Looks like you finally made it back, lil' sis!" Tooru chimed, putting down his cards and hugging me. "Thanks." I said embracing him. "Your mom and dad had a fight at my house, so we decided to stay over here for the night." Kenma said, shuffling the cards. "Wanna join?" He asked me. "Uh, sure." I said. Seriously, mom, dad. You can't even act like a couple when your daughter just came home from the hospital? I sighed, this is how it has always been.

We played cards until the sky started to darken. "Well, looks like we should start cleaning up. It's getting late." Tooru said, standing up and stretching. "Yeah, I'll go make us some dinner. One that I deserve." I said, putting the cards away. "Sure." Kenma said, yawning. I walked out of my room and went to the kitchen. What to make, what to make? I thought, taking out some pots. I know! Hot pot! Yes! Perfect! I thought, satisfied. "Hey, guys! How about hot pot for dinner?" I yelled. "Okay!" Tooru said, bounding down the stairs. "Alright, I need someone to go to the supermarket to get me some meat and tofu. The rest I have." I said, putting my hands on my hips. "I'll go!" Tooru chimed, putting on his shoes and getting a bag. "Kenma! I need you to help me prepare!" I yelled again. "Why me?" He asked, sludging down the stairs. "If not you, then who?" I asked. "Finneeee." He whined. And with that the cooking began!

"Well, that should do it! Now dig in guys!" I said, sitting down. "Alright, I'm putting the lamb and lunch meat into the spicy side." I said as I waited impatiently for the meat to cook.

We finished eating at about 8 o'clock. "That was yummy!" I said as I plopped down on the couch, patting my tummy. "Well, I'm gonna go set up the sleeping bags we brought." Kenma said, walking upstairs with them. "I'll help you!" I said, standing up from the very cozy couch. "You too, Tooru." I said, seeing him tip-toe to the TV. "Okay, fine. You caught me." He said, putting his hands up in surrender. I sighed. "C'mon, get a move on." I said, trudging up the stairs to my room. "You setting up here?" I asked. "Yeah, if you don't mind." Kenma said, putting them down on the ground.

I sat on my bed, letting my legs dangle. "I'm gonna take a shower now, guys." I said, getting my PJ's. "Sure. I'm gonna go next." Kenma said, whipping out his PSP as soon as I was out of the room. I took a long, nice, warm shower. Once I finished I put on an oversized t-shirt and shorts. "Kenma, your turn." I said, opening the door to the very cold outside world. "Okay." He said, stepping out of my room.

Once everyone was done taking a shower, we all went down to the kitchen. I got out my chocolate milk and warmed it up. "Uh, whatcha doin'? Tooru asked me. "What does it look like I'm doing?" I asked, annoyed. "I know what you're doing, but, uh... I never knew you would drink milk...." He said, obviously confused. "9 o'clock is milk time." I told him, handing Kenma his share of the warm chocolate milk. "Oh. Okay then." He said, standing there dumbfounded. I hoisted myself up onto the tabletop and started sipping my chocolate milk. "Yeah, so, do you want a glass?" Kenma asked, doing the same as me. "No, I'm good." Tooru said, walking to the living room and plopping down on the couch.

"Ahhhh, that was yummy!" I said, smiling. Kenma nodded. "Well, looks like you guys are all done now," Tooru said, yawning. "I'm going to bed." He said, walking up the stairs. "Yours is the one on the right, Tooru!" I yelled after him. Kenma handed me his cup, I put them both in the sink and started to wash them. "See you upstairs, (F/N)-chan." Kenma said, leaving me all alone in the kitchen. And, not to mention the darkness. I got scared, I washed the cups, put them on the rack and dashed upstairs to my room.

When I got there, I slammed the door open and saw Tooru and Kenma chilling on their beds. "HOW DARE YOU TWO KNUCKLEHEADS LEAVE ME DOWNSTAIRS IN THE KITCHEN AND IN THE DARKNESS!!!!!!!!!" I yelled at them. "Oh, sorry." Kenma said. "Ohoho. Looki what we have here. My lil' sister is scared of the dark, now is she?" Tooru said, smirking. "U-uhh, no! I-I-I uhh was just uhm..." I stammered, my face turning redder by the second. "Oh, it's fine." Tooru said, seeing me on the verge of tears. He knew I didn't like to be teased.

"But seriously, I mean, she's so afraid of the dark that she had to come running upstairs." Tooru said, nudging Kenma. "H-Hey! Shut up!" I said, flustered. "Well, g'night. Lights out." Tooru said, walking to the light switch. "W-Waittt!!!" I shouted. "Oh, yeah, that's right. You can't turn off the lights until (F/N)-chan's asleep." Kenma said. "Ugh, fine." Tooru said, slumping back onto the ground.

-Time Skip To The Morning-

I woke up to see two people on the ground. Tooru and Kenma specifically. I almost burst into laughter when I saw how Tooru slept. His position, oh my god. I burst into laughter, holding my stomach and covering my mouth. "Huh? What are you laughing about?" Kenma asked me, annoyed that I woke him up. "L-look at him!" I said, still laughing like a lunatic. He snorted, and went out of the room and closed the door. I could still hear his muffled laughter from the hallway. Tooru was always a deep sleeper. It would take a long time to wake him up, unless it was an alarm clock.

After our laughter died down, I went downstairs with Kenma to make some breakfast. "Pancakes?" I asked, putting on my apron. Kenma nodded. I hummed in response.

"Hey Tooru! Time for breakfast!" I yelled upstairs as loud as I could. No response. I sighed. "Hey, Kenma? Could you go try and wake him up?" I asked him. "Do I have to?" He pouted. "Yes." I said, and went back to the kitchen. I heard him groan and go up the stairs.

After ten minutes of Kenma and I trying to wake Tooru up, he was still sound asleep. "Ugh." I groaned. "Oh, well. Guess we'll just have to eat without him. I said, going out the door and turning the lights off on the way.

We finished eating breakfast and Tooru decided to wake up. "Hey, where's my food?" He asked. "You don't get any because you didn't wake up after calling you for a straight TEN MINUTES!" I said, crossing my arms. "Awe, that's not my fault." He said, crossing his arms. Kenma just stared at us and decided to go somewhere else. "So, you gonna make me something or what." Tooru said, trying to intimidate me. However he never could. "Yeah? I'll make you something when you learn how to wake up when someone's calling you." I said, huffing. "As I said, not my fault." He said, closing his eyes. "Well, it's not like you can't make something." I said, staring at him. "Well, yeah, I can. But you have the best cooking." He said rather matter-of-factly. This argument lasted a good twenty minutes. Alas, Kenma decided to step in and in the end, Tooru had to make his own breakfast because Kenma said that he was a 'big boy now'.

"Ah, so what should we do?" I asked, bored. "How about we go to Miyagi? You guys could meet my team. And besides, it's not like our parents are going to care." Tooru said, going to the fridge. "Yeah, well, we're going to have to ask Kenma's parents, y'know." I said, sitting beside Kenma on the couch. "I'll call them." Kenma said, dialing his mom's phone. He walked out of the room and into the kitchen. Or somewhere.

"So?" I asked once Kenma came back to the living room. "I can go. My mom said that your parents are still fighting. So she thinks it's better for me to stay with you guys for a bit longer." He said, plopping on the couch. "Okay, then. I'll go pack my things." Tooru said. "Oh, you guys don't have to pack anything. I have stuff at my house." Tooru said, walking upstairs.

We went on the train to Miyagi. I wrote a note and put it on the table that we will be staying over at Tooru's for 5 days. I'm happy, this was my first real trip I had since I was five. "I heard that they'll be opening a new arcade soon, wanna check it out?" Tooru said. "Of course!" I smiled.

-Time Skip To After The Train Ride-

We settled into Tooru's house. It was a bit bigger than mine, back in Tokyo. When we got there it was around 6, so we ate a quick snack and I started to prepare dinner for the boys. Turns out, Tooru's nephew is going to come over tomorrow. Better be prepared!
