Attorney? How?

I couldn't think of anything! First thing I checked, his pasts were dark. I know it. I witnessed some of it. So I couldn't think of any reasons.

He's a business tycoon. That doesn't surprise me a lot. But heck, what? Valedictorian? Hindi ko naisip na mangyayari 'yon. I remember that he wasn't doing that great in school but he was trying. But of course, somehow back then, I still know that he will have a bright future ahead.

Malaki ang ngiti ni Cassandra sa akin habang suot suot ang isa sa paborito kong sunglass. We're wearing almost the same sunglasses but I don't have that kind of smile. Hila hila namin pareho ang bagahe habang sinasakay ng ilang lalaki sa SUV.

I'm on my white long-sleeved turtle neck top and faded ripped jeans along with my slingback shoes. Ramdam ko ang ilang tingin sa akin ng mga tao sa parking lot. Some are even taking pictures. I didn't care. Soon, my shoots will be launched and they'll get why I'm here.

Siniko ako ni Reign. "I told you not to dress too flashy. Ayan, pinagtitinginan ka!"

Tumawa si Cass. "Oh, let them. At least she looks good in the pictures, right?"

Umirap si Reign at hindi binili ang biro ni Cassandra. Tinapik ko lang ang pinsan at sumunod na kay Reign sa sasakyan.

My eyes wandered inside the car. Usually, kapag may stay kami sa iba't ibang bansa, nagha-hire lang talaga kami ng sasakyan. Since we're staying here for a couple weeks, I'm thinking of buying one.

"Can you buy me a car when we get there?" I said to Reign while we were already on the board.

Nilingon niya ako at tinaasan ng kilay. "It's your money, anyway. Sure."

"Talaga?" Cassandra peeked. "You should try asking Issa, Gi. She knows someone who sells good cars and nice deals. What do you want to buy ba?"

Ngumuso ako. "Just BMW."

"BMW?"

"Or Rolls Royce. I'll think about it." humikab ako habang nagbubuklat ng magazine sa hita ko.

Humalakhak ang pinsan ko. "Taray ng choices, ha. But I'll go with Rolls Royce. Hiramin ko na din, pang-picture lang."

She's excited. Siya pa mismo ang nagmessage kay Issa at pinadalian pa. That's fine. I think I'm going to use it immediately, anyway.

Reign is staying with Cassandra in a condo that her family owns. I still don't know where to stay to be honest. I just told them that if I can't stay at home, then I'll go with them eventually. Hindi ako nakakasigurado.

We landed safely. Kabado ako nang makarating. The cold wind added nervousness to me since it brings back the feeling of El Vicente, my home.

Niyakap ako ni Cassandra. "Are you sure you'll gonna be fine? Pwede ka naming samahan."

Malungkot na ngumiti si Reign. I smiled and nodded. "I can do this, guys. Thank you for coming here with me."

Parang kapatid na ang turing ko sa kanilang dalawa. They know me well and I know them both well, too. I wouldn't be here if its not because of them both.

"Update us, Gi.." tinapik ako ni Reign. "Please, be careful. Nandito lang kami."

In the end, we needed to part ways.

Mahigpit ang kapit ko sa pulso ko habang nakatitig sa bintana ng taxi cab. The wonderful view of El Vicente doesn't make me smile no more. It reminds me of my past. That I hate.
