Charlie helped our parents fix the hole in the roof. Grandpa Joe spent the whole day out of bed, he didn't feel tired at all. My father got a better job at the toothpaste factory, repairing the machine that had replaced him. Things have never been better for us, but I was still sad about Wonka. He would come across my mind sometimes, I just couldn't stop thinking about him.
I was working at the book store stocking new books into a shelf when a guy comes up to me "Hey, do you know where this book is?" I look over to the person asking and he has a picture of a book.
"Oh, it's right over there in that aisle." I pointed to where he was looking for the book "Thanks." he smiles "You're welcome." I smile back and he walks off "Hey beautiful, haven't seen you yesterday." I look up "Oh, hey Simon." I said and go back to stocking books.
Simon put one hand on the shelf "So how was it? The factory I mean." I kept stocking books "It was good I guess." "You guess?" He asked, "Well, it was fun at the beginning but it was just getting really boring, and the ending was not what I had expected."
"Well, what did you expect?" I looked at him "I-um." I felt my cheeks getting hot remembering what happened. After what happened with Wonka I don't know what I expected.
"I rather not talk about it," I said and continued to put more books up "Are you keeping secrets from me?" He looked at me suspiciously "No, I swear, it's just everything was...um." I didn't know what to say, then Simon's face got closer to mine. "Are you sure?" His eyes squinting and his arms crossed "Honest." I lied.
"Hmm, alright, but just know that I will find out your secret." He said and walked off back to what he was doing, I sighed. Finally, he's gone.
After I got off work I was getting groceries for my mother, then I was gonna go see Charlie and help him with his shoe shining. As I was done helping with the groceries I started walking to Cherlie's shoe shining spot.
When I got there he was already shining someone's shoes, I walked towards him then I heard him talking to the man "Says here in the papers his new candies aren't selling very well." The man spoke. Is he talking about Mr. Wonka? "But I suppose maybe he's just a rotten egg who deserves it."
"Yep." Charlie said, scrubbing the mans shoes "Oh, really? You ever met him?" Then Charlie looks up at the man "I did. I thought he was great, at first, but then, he didn't turn out so nice. He also has a funny haircut." Then the man slammed down his newspaper revealing it was Willy Wonka "I do not!"
My eyes widened. Why is he here? I walked closer and Wonka looks at me, we locked eye contact with each other, I really missed seeing his face. "Why are you here?" Charlie asked coldly, Wonka broke eye contact and looked at Charlie "I don't feel so hot. What makes you feel better when you feel terrible?" "My family." Charlie said and Wonka looked at him disgusted "Ew."
