CHAPTER SIX
the popsicle is going to melt---
THE COURTYARD NEVER SEEMED SO different to Felicity; usually, it was her favorite place to be, other than her bedroom, of course. But now with all of the members of the terrorist gang keeping guard of the school, it didn't seem the same to her, and she just wished that everything could go back to the way it was.
As of now, Felicity was with Billy and Joey and they were going around the courtyard to find a specific boy. Once they had spotted him doing crunches in the middle of a grass patch, the trio approached knelt down beside him. "Hey, Gube," Billy spoke, gaining the boy's attention. "heard you brought a breakfast tray up to the lookouts in west hall." The boy hummed in response. "What room were they in?"
"They were in the infirmary," Gube answered whilst stifling his breath. Felicity motioned for Joey to write the information down into his notebook.
"What kind of stuff do they have up there?" Felicity inquired. Gube had questioned her, obviously not understanding the query at hand. "You know, like guns, grenades, all that stuff."
"Man, they had tons of it. All kinds; a big machine gun..." Gube trailed off and looked Billy in the eye, "Wait a minute, I'm not gonna get in trouble for this am I?"
Billy scoffed back at him. "Don't be a wuss, Gube, describe the machine gun." The boy listed all of the characteristics of the guns that the terrorists had, Joey writing all of this important information down as he did so. Soon, the hourly school bell rang, telling all of the students to go forth into the cafeteria, where they will be counted. After that they were sent back into the courtyard, and it was just a reoccurring thing.
When it was lunch time at last, Felicity sat at a table that included the usual group and she gazed over at Billy, who took the job of another student by bringing the terrorists in the upper area their food. Joey was there beside him and whispered a 'be careful' before sitting beside the lone girl. He scrunched his nose at her choice of food, but it wasn't like the school provided anything that tasted good to her, or anyone, in that matter.
"Hey, Joey," Felicity greeted whilst taking a spoonful of her lighter-than-usual salad. The color of the lettuce was more so a grayish green, and it concerned her. She motioned to Joey's sketchpad and grinned, "let me see some of your new drawings." The boy smiled back at her. Never had she asked to look at his drawings, but he assumed it was just a spur of the moment.
Before the boy opened his booklet, he glanced over at Felicity tray and pointed at a stick. "What the hell is that?" he questioned, causing the girl to chuckle softly.
