Hey guys, it's been a while.
I'd like to first address my thoughts on the story. "Eight Years Later" is probably my last chapter for this story.
First off, I'm sorry not sorry for the "Your Name"-esque ending. XD
------------------------------
My comment from the previous chapter is a pretty summary for my main ideas:"When I wrote this chapter I wanted to start a new arc with Captain in APHO. As I was and after playing APHO story, I became really curious to see what the captain would be like 8 years later since we(the captain) were never mentioned. And that's why I was excited when I read the beginning of a Chinese APHO fanfic where captain time traveled 8 years into the future. Though I didn't like that it was too "slice of life" and "ecchi" focused so I used it as an inspiration to make my version of it. I wanted mine to be balanced in plot and occasional character interactions like the girl's dorm and date with Himeko chapters. I thought it would be so interesting to imagine reactions of the previous valkyries to Captain coming back and looking the same as he did 8 years ago. And then the reactions of the new students as they wonder why their role models are acting so emotional towards some guy they never heard of. Of course Captain would obviously have played APHO before and be an automatic pro at it along with the fact that he still has his powers.
But alas, I kind of dislike writing this story. Now don't get me wrong, I like my story but I just don't like writing it. I just feel that my end product doesn't feel worth the time I spent writing it. So at the moment, I feel pretty hesitant thinking of continuing the story and even writing it."
-----------------------------------I began writing the story as I wanted to record my imagination of the Honkai story but the captain is actually canon. My friend began his and recommended me do it as well(we're both firm believers of a canon captain lol).
I gathered all of my basic sequence of events for the whole story within 2-3 days and proceeded to spend a couple hours each day writing and proofreading a chapter. I guess I was afraid my ideas were going to be forgotten if I don't include it into the chapter immediately.
And so I published a chapter everyday for almost 20 days consecutively(until I decided to do summer hw and went back daily publishing right after). I guess I shouldn't have done that since the fear of stress definitely contributed to me being hesitant to continue the story again.
Also I learned from writing this story that-
I actually enjoy reading more than I do writing(surprising I know).
I like my story but honestly, not writing. I want my free time to be spent reading light novels, manga, watching anime, or playing Honkai and Genshin.
Respects to all the Honkai writers and writers in general that are still continuing their stories.
Besides writing, I thought this whole experience was so wholesome. Sometimes I'd come look at a chapter or two of my story and read the comments there. The comments are definitely my favorite part. I love hearing your opinions and thoughts on different sections of the chapters and some jokes even crack me up.
Thank you all who have liked, commented, followed, or even just read my story and I'm sorry I can't commit fully to continuing the story for the time being/indefinitely.
And finally.....Hope you all have a great day and good luck on pulling for Asuka and her equipment in the Honkai Impact×Evangelion update!
