(Really amateur writer here, probably the first writing I've done that's not for an assignment. Also, the Captain isn't me but some of my traits are used for the Captain.)
It is currently 11:59 P.M. and my mind and probably along with thousands of others is trembling with excitement and anticipation for the opening of the Herscherr of Thunder expansion supply. I have 21 thousand thousands loaded and ready to fire them all to unlock the new Mei.
The time hit 12 P.M. and the supply chat began to shuffle messages like crazy and I could already see there were a lucky few who already got the new valkyrie. I guess it's my turn to test my RNG and spend my hard earned crystals.

I spend crystals on single pulls so that I could save the few hundred crystals that would've gone to waste if I have gone with 10 pulls instead.
Why am I so stingy?
Well I'm a level 85 pure free to play player that has done everything I could to get my hands on crystals. That includes competing against whales in Agony and Red Lotus Abyss. I use my skills and experience to combat the difference equipment quality. I used all the time to come up with strategies and hone my skills on my valkyries.
All so that I could get crystals to get more valkyries and repeat the cycle.
This is also because of my love for the game and the Honkai universe. I've been a fan of the game for almost 3 years now and of course the waifus are a big part of the reason why.
After a 25 single pulls, there was only useless stuff such as 4 star equipment and A rank valkyries that I already have. If it takes more than 70 pulls then I'm truly fucked because that's all the crystals I have.
Now I could only afford 1 more supply card and I'm not feeling so confident since it's not 10 pulls yet. I suddenly hear the achievement ring and became elated because that usually indicates that I unlocked something new.
But there wasn't a valkyrie image on the preview.
My heart dropped as I thought all my 2 months of farming crystals resulted in nothing.
I calmed down after some time and looked back at my phone. There really was no Herscherr of Thunder but something peculiar was next to the EXP chips.
It was a card with that recognizable bald head on it,our beloved Dawei. I thought that it was a cruel joke Lady Luck made to jab at my RNG. Whatever, doesn't matter anymore so imma just tap on the card to see what's up.

The card's name was "Dawei's blessing" and it says "Congratulations Captain, you may not have gotten Herscherr of Thunder but I will give you the chance to get her differently"
"Differently" huh? Does that mean they actually made Herscherr of Thunder figurines and I was the lucky few to win it?! It doesn't change the fact that I didn't get her in game but getting her figurine is a pretty good trade. Amazing trade actually, since I don't have any Honkai Impact merchandise.
Ha I guess my luck is pretty good after all! I clicked on the "Use" button and expect it to send me to a page where I fill in the delivery information.
But all that happened was the screen turned white and the brightness increased drastically. It increased so much that I had to close my eyes to not get my eyes blinded.
Holy shit, was that a malware that I received instead? And my phone is getting pretty hot probably from the screen brightness. C'mon, I just got this phone less than a year ago. Damn you Dawei!!!!!!!!!
The light gradually got dimmer until it was down to a safe level. I slowly opened my eyes.
What the hell?! I'm in an enormous room with rows of seats arranged like in colleges. There were people around the same age as I was, young adults.
"We will now proceed with the written exam to decide Hyperion's next captain."
The voice came from the front of the room and belonged to a little girl with silver hair and bright blue eyes.
Wait a minute..... Hyperion+captain+silver haired loli..... I'm in Honkai Impact??!?!?!
