Honkai Impact 3: The Captain's Story

Chapter 3 Success?

I followed the woman out of the testing room and entered a vast hallway. This hallway is very clean and the materials were all high quality, almost like one in a castle. As expected of St. Freya Highschool, being funded by the powerful Shicksal, for now at least.

I've been silently walking for at least a minute now, seriously how big is this school?

I can't stand the awkward silence with the woman in front of me and so I decide to strike up a conversation.

"So what's my purpose for reporting to madame Theresa's office?"

"It is in regards to your test answers."

"Was it so good that she wants to personally congratulate me?"

"...You'll find out"

"Ha, this office is certainly pretty far away. May I have the pleasure of knowing your name? I seem to have seen you before."

"My name is Diane and I'm major Himeko's assistant"

Himeko's assistant? Oh, she's that woman from the first chapter of the manga where she scolds Himeko for fooling around. I see, so her name is Diane.

"Major Himeko? I heard miss Himeko was the previous captain of Hyperion but retired because of an injury, is that true?"

Diane turned her head towards me with slightly widened eyes, almost as if surprised, but her expression returned immediately to hide her surprise.

"Confidential" Was her response.

Uhhh, maybe I shouldn't have blurted that out. What do I say now?! Ugh, I suck at holding conversations.

"Um, if you're wondering, my name is really captain, at least that's what I'm called most of the time." Which is true as the name is just captain in most in-game dialogues

"I was not wondering but understood."

"....."

I should just shut up and walk.

Along the way I took a look at the large windows, they look shiny and most likely extremely durable. What i saw from the shiny surface was my reflection.

Who is that?! That is certainly not how I look like.

What stared back at me was a man with light red hair and golden eyes. Looks are average.....just like my stats. I mean average as in comparison to character designs of this world. To me, the looks and physical abilities of this body certainly is an improvement from before. I could probably be the protagonist of some Hentai if I covered my eyes with my hair.

So this is the captain huh? I finally got to see what the players are represented as. But still, what is his identity? I check the slab of glass(smartphone) in my pocket and checked the contacts, nothing except for my (his) number. Was he really lonely or something? I really want to know how he came to be the Captain. There were only essential apps on the phone, probably shipped that way too. It's almost as if this was a completely new phone.

I can't do much now so I'll probably search for more information later.

Finally, we reached a large door which is most definitely one fitting for a principal's in such a luxurious school.

"Please wait a moment." Diane said as she walked in for a short while.

Ok then?

She came back out and it seems I can go in now. It seems like she's staying outside to keep watch.
