Chieftan Taurence finished his speech about Mother and the dirt was thrown over her. Alicia sat, unable to move. She said she was nauseous, Ishould've stayed. I should've known Iwouldn't find a dragon. I should've...

"Your mother... she's in the Great Dragon's talons now. She'll be ok." Tanu said and sat next to Alicia.

Alicia didn't acknowledge him, she kept staring at her hands.

Tanu put a hand on her shoulder, "Do you want to go to the ocean bank? It's quite peaceful."

Alicia nodded and rose. Tanu followed Alicia as she walked in a sulky manner to the beach. Alicia slumped into the sand and watched the tide. Tanu sat next to her.

After a moment of silence, he spoke, "How did searching for a RiverDragon go?"

Alicia shook her head, "I visited the old village for whatever reason. I found one dragon... it was Pike, I'm sure of it. He tried to kill me. I would've died if it wasn't for Ra and Ramses."

"Ra and Ramses?" Tanu looked at her suspiciously.

Oh shoot. I forgot he's a secret to everyone except the Chieftans. How are you going to get out of this one Alicia? Alicia sighed, "Just some rider that was sent by Chieftan Taurence."

Tanu returned his gaze to the ocean, "So, are you still going to search for one?"

Am I? Ramses' invite to become a messenger rung in her head. Or maybe Ican tame like my father was. The image of Pike chasing her flashed in her mind. Yea not doing that. Maybe... there's a dragonling in the village that will hatch and accept me. "No, I don't plan on hunting for one."

There was a knock on Alicia's door. She yawned and sleepily opened it.

Ramses entered, "Have you decided?"

Alicia shook her head, "I don't think I want to be a messenger."

Ramses sighed, "What if I gave you a tour of how your day would go?"

Alicia ignored his question, "Why are you so desperate? To get me to be a messenger, that is."

Ramses seemed to be stung by her words, "No reason. I just... just thought you would enjoy it."

Alicia snapped at him, "Am I not enjoying my life now? You act like I'm the only person who can help you!"

Ramses turned to walk out, "What if you are? No, I don't think you enjoy it here." With that Ramses left.

Tanu blew into the shell and the Salt dragons returned. They picked up the barrels and put them on Swordfish's and Kelp's harnesses. Kelp grunted as Alicia tripped into her.

"Are you alright?" Tanu pulled her up.

"Just in thought." Alicia replied.

Alicia picked up the ropes. He can't be right. I enjoy it here... right? I get to do a lot with the dragons. Alicia tied the rope to Shark's harness. Of course, I don't have much of a social life here. The only people I talk to... well, person now, is Tanu. Alicia led the dragons back to the pens. Maybe, I'll give Ramses a chance. Maybe... maybe I do want to be a messenger.

Tanu took the harnesses off the wall for the RiverDragons. Alicia hung up the harnesses from the SaltDragons. She walked to the RiverDragons with the ropes.
