Chapter 7

Reginas POV

I woke up and looked down at the broken blonde in my arms she was adorable it's so hard to fight these thoughts when she's laying on my chest I played with her hair trying to figure out how to get up without her waking up she needs sleep I don't even know when the last she slept too late I heard Henry running down the stairs he came in and practically yelled "MOMMYYYYY" I was a little harsh but Emma needed sleep "shhh Emma's sleeping" he looked at me and then Emma sleeping on my chest "I didn't know she was sleeping over" he said a little quieter now "yes she did I'll get up and I'll drive you to school" I felt Emma's grip tighten but didn't think much of it till Henry pointed out "um mommy is she ok" I thought it was a nightmare and probably best to wake her up "Emma wake up" I poked her a couple times but she just started shaking "Emma it's me Regina" she jolted up with a tear running down her face "Emma are you okay" Henry ran to her she was still processing "uh oh yes I'm ok kid she smiled but I knew it was fake "I should take Henry to school you gonna be ok" she rolled her eyes "yes I'll be ok alone for 10 minutes" I gave her a death look cause of the last time I gave her 10 minutes "ok Ok you've got a point but I promise I'm ok now I'm stable ish stable enough to be alone plus I know you won't be long" she smiled and yawned "I'm just gonna go back to sleep" Henry ran over to her "are you gonna be here when I finish school" Emma looked up at me worried "I'm not sure kid but I'll try" he smiled and hugged her he hit one of her cuts I saw her wince and reacted "carful Henry" he let go quickly "did I do something wrong" I looked at Emma not having an answer "no you didn't I just got hurt the other day it's ok have a good day kid" he smiled and ran outside we stared for a while "I'll be ok" is all she said I nodded and went in the car the drive Henry.

Emma's POV

Regina left it's cute but I'm fine I don't blame her tho I wouldn't leave if she tried to kill herself I was exhausted it's been a long time since I've actually slept that well it was only 2 nightmares and I felt so safe I haven't felt that in a long time not since my family when I was 6 me and my adopted sister lily were best friends it broke my heart to leave her I couldn't sleep so I put on some tv my phone keeps going off but I don't wanna answer but it could be Ruby or granny I should probably answer I picked up my phone not looking at the caller ID I put it to my ear "hello" I heard a familiar chuckle that sent shivers down my back "Emma you answered" I froze I knew that voice anywhere "James...." he faked gasped "oh no nope not James of course it's me dumb bitch what time should I be expecting you tonight" I wasn't talking I couldn't even if I wanted to " silence really Emma that's childish wouldn't wanna hurt poor mommy or daddy now would we or even what's her name Ruby and her granny or that woman who stole you from us and shot one of us she doesn't know what she started" I couldn't breath "h-how did you know about Ruby and granny" he laughed "you see I've always known I watched you before you met Me" what was he talking about "your psychotic stay away from them they have nothing to do with this" "oh but they do Emma they matter to you and somehow care about a slut like you oh who's the bitch that saved you last night she's got balls" I knew he was smirking while I was trying not to cry "she doesn't have anything to do with it she didn't mean to she thought you were gonna kill me" "I would watch your tone missy I have the power to make your life a living hell" I wanted to say so much but to many lives were at stake so I stayed quiet but I could feel the tears on my face "that's what I thought see you tonight babe" he hung up and I collapsed my legs just stopped working I couldn't control my tears I couldn't move or talk I felt paralyzed I wanted to die so bad but I promised plus I can't even move I just cried on the floor with my phone next to me I could hear it go off but I didn't look I heard the keys turn and the door open I was so scared I thought it was James I didn't even think it would be Regina so I kept my eyes shut still crying I heard her drop her bag and run over me "EMMA what happened are you hurt did they get in here while I was gone" I couldn't get words out of my mouth all that came out was "phone" she sat me up and I leaned on her while she looked at my phone and saw that James was the last person that called "who's James" another tear escaped my eye and she knew "what did that monster say to you" I took a breath and I could finally get some words out of my mouth "he-he told me if I didn't come back he would h-hurt my parents my best friend the only thing I have close enough to a grandmother and y-you I h-have to go back" I was crying even more and Regina looked pissed but when I looked into her brown eyes they turned to concern she picked me up and put me on the couch she held on to me stroked my hair "we'll figure this out ok I can't let you go back" I hung on to her like it was the last time I would see her "I can't let them hurt anyone" she rubbed my back "shhh I know I've got you how much time did they give you" I looked at my phone and saw text messages from him I handed my phone to her knowing I couldn't even look

Can't wait to see you tonight babe here's the outfit waiting for you throw up whatever you ate so it fits and it's game night 😉

I looked up at Regina she was so angry "no I'm not letting you go back I can't" I stood up " I can't let people I love die" she stared at me in shock then it just clicked "I mean care about people I care about" she blushed "I've endured 2 years I can do more I just need to find them" she sat up "the cops?" she doesn't think I've tried that "I tried didn't work got me more hurt" she stood up "my mother is the scariest woman in the world she can get a Pi there can find your parents get Ruby and granny to safety then get you out of there and arrest them" that idea may work "ok it's all we got let's do it" she hugged me "come to school everyday go to my office in the morning and I'll fix up your wounds and you can sleepover every night" I nodded "I can do this they won't kill me just injure me pretty bad" that didn't help "ok so that's not much better but it kinda is I'll live I have a couple hours we can spend time together like a movie we can go get Henry and drop me off in the alley way in the back so they don't see you and Henry doesn't know where I'm going" she nodded still unsure "like you said we can do this" she smiled and we sat back on the couch and watched a movie
