Chapter 24

Catori's POV:

I laid my head on Easton's shoulder as he held me close, enveloping me tightly as I scented him finally feeling at peace in my mate's embrace. He silently made his way deep into the speeding boat closing us off from the rest of the crew in our private quarters. Hearing him sigh deeply as he gently places me on the soft luxurious bed, I feel him stretch his body out next to me as he tucks his head against the crook of my neck inhaling my scent as it soothes him further.

His strong warm hand gently caressing my belly as our child responds moving and kicking the path his hand strokes. "Mmmm... I just need a few moments to lay here with you like this, to soak up the knowledge of your being here at my side safely in my presence away from those kidnappers. To feel our bond strengthen. Catori I can't live without you, you and our child are everything to me, I'm nothing without you dearest Darlin'."

I wrap my arms around his neck tucking his head into my chest as I rub slow, gentle, soothing circles across his firm back. Hearing him almost purr in contentment as his eyes drop and his breathing evens out while his grip remains holding my hips tightly. "I missed you so much my love, we're incomplete without you.. utterly incomplete." I whispered back as I tuck my nose into his soft disheveled hair closing my eyes as the darkness of slumber overtakes my senses.

Easton's POV:

Waking up I glance at my watch seeing we've napped for a few hours, it's the middle of the night but Catori hasn't had her meal so I slip out of bed silently avoiding disrupting her slumber as I bring back a tray with cold meats, fresh fruit, cheese, nuts, olives and a few toasted baguette rounds. This should hold her through until morning without being too heavy on her system.

Ixchel follows me back to the room bringing a small pitcher with fruit nectar and a bowl of berries and cream for Catori. She gently helps me position my mate up in a reclined sitting angle with pillows around her as she awakens with a smile. "Ixchel, you know I felt your presence flowing around me while on board the ship, it helped center me when I was feeling lost and alone. Thank you dear friend." She reaches up hugging Ixchel firmly.

"We wanted you to know you were never truly alone but being that you were over water it took us a bit longer to reach you sweetness, now I'll check you over and leave you to your midnight snack." Smiling brightly she examined Catori's limbs, joints, felt her organs and last but not least she examined the baby's well being. "Well you are in good shape, with a little rest and relaxation at your mate's side I say we're on the right path."

Bending over she whispers into Catori's ear "I can feel your body's energy and you should know that taking care of your needs won't harm your unborn child, just remember not to put your weight directly on your stomach and to hydrate well afterwards." Winking she slips a little capped vile with dual heating/cooling-lubricating fluid into Cat's hand tucking it under her blanket. "See you in the morning pájaritos del amor."

Easton's POV:

Climbing into bed I pull the tray over my lap insuring its stability as I take the fruit fork and feed my beautiful pregnant darling. As I watch her plump lips capture the fruit and her teeth pierce the flesh I begin to feel my own body heating up, juice dribbles down the side of her mouth as she takes in a very ripe grape, before she can wipe it off I lean forward licking it right into my mouth causing her to moan quietly as her eyes zero in on my tongue flicking back into my own mouth.
