Catori's POV:
A year has come and gone, our pack is flourishing. As a matter of fact we're going through a baby boom now that families are feeling stable and happy with how bright the pack's future is looking. With the revenue from our floral and herbal extracts and products we've been able to fund our youth's college expenses. I've set up scholarships and grants through the pack for anyone who can keep their grades at or above C level for either College/University and or Trade school training.
I myself have officially graduated! I've completed my Masters in Business Communications, (MBA) degree with a specialized focus on corporate communications, public relations and marketing communications. Now that I'm officially finished with my upper education for now, I've taken on the challenges of managing our pack's business side much more confidently. Of course Easton's family has been such a pillar for me in this time of growth. They've poured so much love into me that I wonder how I ever lived without them. Back home I felt loved and protected but now I'm enveloped in it.
The one draw back is that as enthusiastically as we've tried Easton and I haven't been able to start a family. Not for lack of want or trying. It's weighing me down. "Catori, why don't we take a little vacation down south and spend some time relaxing at the beach?" It's the weekend so we've been lazying around our room all morning, I can't seem to cheer up though and I know that he's aware of my struggles. "Babe, I don't feel like hanging out at the beach.." hanging my head low, my lip starts to tremble as I look away wiping off a stray tear.
"Now Darlin' don't say that, I know you're sad and too wound up right now but let's start with talking to Healer Heaney and see if maybe the issue is with me or if there's anything we can do to speed the process of starting a family up. You know that we're very blessed and shouldn't despair over not having a little one of our own. We've been enjoying Logan right?"
I know he's thinking logically and makes sense, "Little Logan isn't staying little forever and has such an independent streak that our time with him has been limited as he explores new bonds and interests within the pack, I love him as if he were my own but I want a mini Easton or a little cuddle princess as well. Am I being selfish? I feel like a failure.. Maybe I wouldn't be a good mom since I wasn't raised by my own." I frown deeply. "Don't you ever think so lowly of yourself, do you hear me Catori, not now not ever." I sit still having never heard Easton speak to me in such a harsh dry tone. "I'm sorry Easton... let's head over to Heaney's office"
Easton links Heaney who is waiting for us in the office, "What can I do for you Alpha, Luna?" Easton clears his throat and takes a seat, "Um.. thanks for taking us so quickly" I watch him nervously tap his fingers on his knee then he nods at me. "I'm sure you're very busy but we'd like to request your help if possible. Easton and I have been trying to start a family but to no avail, is there any way we can find out what's wrong or possibly fix the issue?"
Healey sits quietly for a few moments which honestly felt like forever. "How about we start with the basics, I'll take fluid samples and run a sonogram just to check if everything is in order then we can move on from their." We agree and get everything done over the next hour. "Well it'll take about a week for all the results to be ready, I'll schedule an appointment for the both of you to come back as soon as I get everything in order. Please don't worry, you've both had so many changes and stress with running the pack that in itself can easily set you back. Please take a few days off and have some leisure time to yourselves."
