Chapter 18

Witch Li's POV:

Over the next few days we gather our information from the last battle and decide that it's time to move on. My home should return to it's peaceful state soon enough but I must admit I'll miss the company and even a bit of the chaos as well. Catori has finally passed her delicate state of pregnancy so she is able to shift back and travel once again.

Following Elder Balian's advice, I break the seal bringing Catori and Easton up from the underground passage as Ixchel gently guides them. We all gather round welcoming them and hugging Catori observing how her belly is swollen with her little one growing stronger by the day as Ixchel's influence provides Catori's body with all the extra support a shifter mother needs at a time like this.

Going over the recent events Balian divulges some key information he gathered during the battle when he was able to grasp Magnus's forehead and link to his thoughts, he was able to view images of Catori's parents deep in the Siberian North. 

He projects forth the images he captured so we could see their throne underground and brightly painted murals detailing Catori's growth, the birth of her baby, shift in power then it goes blank... the future is not set in stone so they must keep the child safe for if she falls into the wrong hands evil will prevail.

Ixchel and I take Catori and Easton into their room as I begin the process of shifting her back into her human form, Easton holds her hand soothing her nerves while Ixchel pours fourth her healing and her magic to keep all the strain and stress far from Catori's child and womb. 

It's been a long time since Catori has shifted so the process takes it's toll sapping the energy out of her body, thankfully without any harm as Easton lays her gently on the bed to sleep through it all. We leave the room gathering in the living room as we iron out our next move.

"We're grateful to each and every one of you who have come in defense and support of my mate and our child, so much has been beyond our grasp but knowing that our little one holds the key to changes in the future for shifters and the different beings within our realm and beyond gives us hope that whatever darkness comes we will prevail." Easton says bowing in heart felt appreciation.

Balian takes his place next to Easton gently tapping his back embracing him as a father would a son. "We're as one, this is our matter as well. There is much we can do when we are united against Evil. Witch-Li has served her role as protector very well and now we must move forward, it is no longer safe or beneficial to remain isolated here in the North now that Catori has safely gone through the period of anchoring your child's life within her own."

"You have 24 hours to set way as Balian and I will be binding the magic around to allow you safe passage to your different destinations without being traced by those who would wish to harm you. I will continue to assist in any way possible as I remain here, there is much to coordinate so our bond and link to one another will stay embedded in each of us regardless of the distance much like a werewolf pack link. I will be able to reach out to you and vice versa as needed."

Hugging each of them I allow for them to retreat to their rooms while heading to the kitchen to prepare a feast. I can hardly believe how ecstatic I feel, relieved knowing I've completed this first stage and now they will move forth taking each step towards a better future.
