I walked out of the small cave that my father was still in. I turned my back to him, to look at him one last time, before I headed back to the main cave with all of the other dragons, so that I could get some sleep. I saw that my father had his head down low to the ground, and I could tell that he was deep in thought.
What it was that my father often thought about, I could not give you the first clue, as I was not sure myself. He was a bit of a strange dragon if I were going to be honest. Not many dragons knew much about him, unless they were a bit of an older dragon.
No one ever made an attempt to dive deep in to his past, and my mother never really told me much about him from when he was younger. All I knew about him was the cool little stories I had been told about him, and him being one of the best warriors in the history of the tribe.
I did not know hardly anything about my father. I was not even sure if his best friend, and deputy, Socra, knew much about him. I wish that he would open up to me one of these days, but I was not sure that I would see that at any point in the near future.
Especially with the way that he was now, I was sure that more than ever, he was going to hide his emotions from the tribe, and from me. I shook my head, as I figured that maybe I should not try to het too worried about it, nor get too lost in thought over something that I could not control.
I then shook my head, as I then looked away from my father at the same instance as well, and then I continued to walk over to the large cave that was in front of me. I saw that there were many other dragons in there as well, and most of them had already fallen to sleep.
It was a bit more of a busy day earlier, as many of the dragons had been moving around a lot, excited for what it was that my father had in store for the future of the tribe. It made sense that a lot of them were already asleep.
At the same time, I could tell that many others were not asleep at all. It almost seemed as if the cave dragons were the quickest to fall asleep, over the normal hunting dragons, and guard dragons. I tried to think of why that might be the case, as I had always been told that the cave dragons were the weak and cowardly dragons.
The ones that looked to be the most scared however, were the dragons that had said that about the cave dragons. As far as I could see, the cave dragons were excited to have some sort of use, rather than always being in the caves and cleaning peoples places and stuff.
I knew that they did not feel much of a use to the tribe, especially more now than they normally did, as there was not much that they could do now, since we all lived in the same cave now. I knew that many dragons were not happy to be sleeping with the cave dragons either.
I had noticed the difference between the groups of where dragons slept at for quite a long time now. On one side of the cave, the warriors and the hunting dragons liked to sleep at. On another side of the cave, the elders, children, and the guards would sleep on, mainly because the guards wanted to keep them safe.
Then there was another smaller section of the cave, not due to there just not being very many cave dragons, but it was because they were used to living in the smaller caves, all huddled up close to one another, so it did not really bother them all that much now.
I spotted one dragon in particular, an old friend of mine in fact, that I had been close to, such as I was with Kota and Kip. I had not spoken to him in a while, partly because he had already gotten his job, and he was to be a cave dragon in fact.
I knew that all of our friends then shied away from him after that, as it was a bit embarrassing to many dragons, the fact that they might be talking to a cave dragon. It was not because he was such a weak dragon, or an ugly dragon, he just did not talk much, and his parents had died when he was very young, so there was no one to guide him.
I felt a bit bad for him, and I made a note to myself, that I would prove to all of the other dragons that were in the tribe, that they were wrong for not talking to a dragon, specifically because of them not being a normal dragon. If they saw me talking to him, it would for sure prove a point.
I did not want him to feel like I was using him at the same time as well though. I wanted him to know that I was also talking to him because we had in fact once been close friends. I needed to catch up on a lot with him for sure.
I turned my head away from my old friend, and then I shook my head as well. I was in fact quite tired at the same time as well, as I was still in a lot of pain from my father. Also along with that, I did not get very much sleep last night either.
As I closed my eyes, it did not take all that long for me to fall asleep after that. I relaxed myself, so that I could get some decent sleep as well, as I moved myself closer to my sister Mik at the same time too.I woke up, but once again, like the night before this one, I was not in the cave again. I was used to it this time, as it did not surprise me at all. I did notice that I was in the woods however, and it looked like a bit of a familiar area as well.
I looked around, a bit confused as to why I was here, and what this might be about. I looked around for a bit of some time, and then I spotted something that was not too far away from me. It seemed as if there was something moving, but it also was not trying to be seen either.
It seemed as if it knew that I was there with it. I turned my head over to where I had heard the noise, and I focused my eyes in on it. Even if red dragons did have better eyes than the black dragons, it still did not mean that we had good eye sight.
It was just not as dark for us to see when it was the night time. I knew I had heard a noise come from around the area that I was looking at, but I just could not see what it was that had made the noise for the life of me. After a few more moments, I eventually gave up as well.
I turned my head, looking around the area, trying to figure out where it was that I might be at. I knew that I was on the current land of where the tribe lived at right now, but I just could not tell where it was that I was at, to save the life of me.
I then heard noise come from around the same area that I had heard before. This time it was not any sort of normal noise however, as I turned my head over to it, noticing that it in fact was 2 humans that were talking amongst themselves.
I heard that they were speaking, but I still could just not tell where it was that they were at. I looked around for a bit longer, and then I gave up. I listened to what it was that they were saying to each other instead, as it seemed more important than me looking to see where they were.
"Lets go up on it, to hear what it is that they are saying... If we think that it might be safe, I dare say... Maybe we go in." I heard one of the humans say to the other one. I did not recognize the voice, so I was not sure who the human might be, or what it was that he could be talking about.
I did know that they were on our land for sure, and based off of what he had just said as well, I was guessing that they might have seen one of the dragons that were in our tribe. I had to guess that they meant that they were going to attack them as well.
I knew that I was in a dream, but I also knew that so was that human, and that meant that these dreams were often really happening. I sat there for just a bit longer, as I still was not sure as to what it was that was going on at the moment.
I suddenly heard a bit of some quiet scuffling in front of me, and I looked around as to where it was that it was coming from. I still could not see where it was, but as I looked around where I heard the noise, I then spotted something moving through the grass and the leaves.
I focused my eyes on it, as I realized that it was 2 humans, and they had a bow on them as well. It then began to make sense as to what it was that was going on... They were going to kill one of the dragons that was in my tribe! I had to wake up and warn my tribe before it was too late!
Just as I thought about closing my eyes, so that I could wake up, I heard a familiar voice come from somewhere that was not too far away from me. I turned my head over to where I had heard it come from, as I then realized where it was that I was at.
I was on the outskirts of the camp, and I could see ahead of me, was my father, and he was speaking to the whole tribe. I looked up at the cliff that he was normally at, and I spotted Socra with him as well. I did not spot me however.
I was a bit confused, as I knew that this was the current place that we lived at right now, but I did not see myself at the top of the cliff. I shook my head though, as I heard my father speaking to the tribe, and I listened to what it was that he had to say.
"I have put each of you into sectors... We must train to fight back against those evil dragons! I know you all want revenge on them, they killed so many of us... Family, lovers... Fight for your tribe!" He said to all of the dragons that were in the clearing.
I heard a lot of them shouting in agreement as well, as that surprised me at the same time to. This must be far in the future, if that were to be the case right now. It made sense as to why I might not be there at the moment.
I was either dead... Or maybe... I had remembered what my father had told me just last night, as he had told me that I needed to speak to Yikla by myself. That had to be where I was at right now, surely right? I shook my head at the same time as well, as I was in fact quite a bit confused as to what was going on at the moment.
But then, to my surprise, even more than before, I turned my head over, as I heard footsteps of something a bit bigger than a human from right near where the humans were. I turned my head over to it, as I saw the humans do the same as well.
I then saw what it was to my surprise, as it was even more of a shock to me than I had expected. The thing that I had heard, it was a dragon in fact... The dragon that it was though, was even more of the surprise to me however. It was me... I seemed to have perfectly normal look on my face, as I then spoke to the humans.
"Oh... Uh... Well... Hello there..."
