As Zati said that, both me and Kotas heads picked up, as we both got quite a bit excited. I had not hunted in a while, I was busy helping Socra a lot of the time with other small tasks, which often tended to be helping the young dragons or the elder dragons, I was a bit excited to have a free day.
I was fairly sure that it was a free day for me as well, or else Socra would have woken me up long before now. I had to guess it was a lot due to the fact that she knew I was tired and needed sleep. A part of me felt like she was still upset at me for lying about seeing Plok.
I shook my head, she had always told me she did not hold grudges on people. Not even black dragons, a lot due to the fact that you never really truly knew what another dragon had been through in their life. I suppose she was right on that as well. It seemed like the last few days she had held a grudge on me however.
I did not really need to worry about it though, I was with some of my old friends, it was best just to get my mind off of all of that, and enjoy the day off. It did not seem to happen very often for me, and once I was the deputy, I knew that it would be like this even less often.
I got up from where I was sitting, as Kota took the first steps out of the small little camp for the rest of us. A big weight seemed to lift from off of my shoulders as we walked out of the camp. I had to guess that a lot of that had to be there because of the fact that I was stressed out, and so worried about the next chapter of my story.
Especially since I did not have my brother with me, who was always such a close friend to me, not just a brother. Not only did I not have him, but I did not have my father either, and he was supposed to be the leader of our tribe.
All of that seemed to go away as soon as I walked out of the camp with the other 2 though. I looked around, as we went into a much larger empty field, and I felt to chill breeze that was in the air. It made me relax as well, and realize that time like this was special, and that it was meant to be enjoyed.
I had only been in this area a few times. A lot of that had to do with the fact that I did not walk out of the camp very often in the first place. Not only that, but the times I did walk out of camp, were usually around the night time. It usually happened when I tended to have trouble sleeping, so my best way to clear my head was to walk around in the woods.
This was the last place that I wanted to walk during the night. You would think that it would be better because you could look at the stars and all of that other stuff, but that was just not the case for me. I liked being in a small secluded area, and be alone.
During the day time, that is when I liked to walk in fields, especially with friends by my side. It was always fun to be out here, and to just be able to walk around wherever you felt like walking in the exact instance. It was a lot different when I was younger than I was now as well.
We were such young kids, we used to have play fights, and play around and race out in these fields. I sometimes forgot what it was like to be a kid, now that my life had changed. I think even the young kids that not have the life that a normal dragon should be having at their age.
I missed those fun years, but now I was different, and looking at Kota, I thought about playing with him, but I realized as well that we were both out of that stage now. I lowered my head to the ground a bit sadly, but I just kept on walking with the both of them anyways.
Kota slowed down a bit, and let his mate take the lead for us in the field. I looked over at him as he slowed down to my pace, and he turned his head over to me. I waited for him to say what it was that he felt like he had to say to me.
We kept on walking in silence for quite a while, as it did not seem like he could get his thoughts into his mouth. I looked away, and just kept on walking along with him. I was not too worried about all of that, and I just wanted to not think at all right now.
My mind had been going in so many different places over the last few days, and I was quite tired of all of that. I was happy just to have my mind being blank right now, and just enjoying the smell of the flowers, as I also knew that it was going to be getting cold fairly soon, and that smell would be gone by then.
I sat there with my eyes halfway closed, as my thoughts drifted into a deep and relaxing state. It did not take long for Kota to take that away from me however. I turned my head over to my friend, as I heard him then begin to speak up to me.
"I hope you do not blame me for not telling you about the meeting the other night. I just wanted to apologize for that... It was not my decision..." He said to me. I looked at him for a few moments, and then I blinked my head, trying to remember what had happened the other night.
I my memory then suddenly came swirling back to me just like that. I squinted my eyes at my friend. I was not upset at him, I was more upset at Socra for not telling me about it. I was sure she had told Kota not to tell me about it as well.
I understood why they had not told me I suppose though. They thought that it would make me angry, and that I would tell my father about it. Tell him that they were talking to the dragon that had been the reason that his son had died in the first place.
It did make me very angry in that moment, but I was over it at this point. I had cleared those thoughts from my mind, but now that they were back in my head. It kind of did make me a bit upset, as I looked back over to my friend, and I squinted my eyes at him. I saw him gulp a bit, as I began to speak back to him.
"No! I do not blame you for what you did the other night!" I said, but saying it very loudly so that I knew that his mate could hear it as well. It also upset me, because I knew that it was not just my father that was angry about Yikla. She had betrayed our whole tribe, and she had led to the death of many different dragons.
Kota then realized that I had said it extra loud so that his mate could hear it as well. He looked over at me, and he looked a bit upset. Not upset as to where he was going to run at me and try to attack me, but I knew that when Kota got mad at you, he held it on you for quite some time.
I regretted it the moment that I had done it as well. Remembering that he was like that too. I should not have done it to him even if he was not like that at all either. I felt a bit upset at myself, and I cursed myself under my breath, as he began to talk back to me, angry, but a quiet angry which made him even more scary.
"Why did you do that? Now she is going to ask about-" He began to say to me. Just as he began to speak to me, his mate turned her head around a bit confused as to what she had just heard us talking about. I lowered my head to the ground as soon as I saw her turn her head over to us as well.
Kota looked a bit embarrassed about it as well. I knew that he had not told her about it, otherwise she would not have been asleep in the cave. I knew if she knew something like that was going on, she most definitely would have wanted to be a part of it.
Or maybe not... I knew that she was angry at Yikla as well, she had lost the life of her father in that battle. It was probably a smart decision not to tell her about it. Zita slowed her pace down, and let us catch up to her, as she began to speak up.
"What?! Did something happen between you 2 the other night? Did someone attack you?" She asked us. I looked at Kota, and I knew that both he and I had the same thoughts as to what she had just said to us. Yikla was a black dragon, she could have attacked us, or she could be scouting us out and planning another attack.
There were so many thoughts that I had about her being on our land right now, and I was just not sure how to respond to Zita right now. I sat there with my head to the ground, and thankfully she did not notice the guilty look that was on my face.
It was a very bad decision that I had just made, it wad just a natural instinct, and I was a bit upset right then as well. Kota began to speak however, and my eyes went up to him, as I listened in on him, as he spoke to her, to calm her down.
"We took a walk together, and we got in a little debate, and some shots were fired at each other... There is nothing to worry about honestly." He said to her. He said it perfectly, up until he added that last extra line, which kind of ruined what he had just said to her.
She squinted her eyes at him, as if she could tell that he was still hiding something. I looked at him, and I could see him looking back at me from the corner of his eye as well. She sat there for a few moments, and then she shook her head.
The tension in the air all seemed to die off as soon as she did that as well. As both me, and Kota, relaxed ourselves, as she turned her head away from us for just a few moments. Me and Kota nodded to each other, and then she turned her head back over, and she began to speak.
"Well... I am glad that both of you are over it, lets just enjoy our short time together, and get some prey for our tribe." She said to us. I looked at her for a few moments, as I could tell she still was not willing to believe all of what Kota had just said to her.
I looked at her, and nodded, making sure she knew that I understood what she had just said, and that I was not too worried about all of what had just been said a few moments ago. It eased some more of the tension, as she kept her eyes on me, but she kept on walking.
I realized that I had not added into the conversation that we had just been having amongst ourselves, which had a lot to do with the reason that she was still a bit suspicious I suppose. I then began to speak to the both of them, calming both of them down.
"Yes... We are okay now, where should it be that we are to hunt?" I asked her. Kota looked at me, and then nodded to me gratefully, for calming her down, as we kept on walking along, across the large field, which seemed to go as far as my eyes could see.
Zita kept on walking, as it seemed as if she had not heard that I had just spoken to her for quite a long period of time. I was not sure if that was because she was not over with what we had just been talking about still, or she was lost in thought.
Finally after quite a long period of time, she stopped herself, and she turned her head back to the both of us. We both stopped in our tracks once again, as she looked at the both of us, and she nodded as she quickly then began to speak up to us.
"There is an area about half a kilometer from here... It is a bit off of our territory, but dragons tend to not hunt near there so there is large flocks of animals all around there." She said to us. I looked at her for a few moments, and then my face lit up with excitement.
She smiled at me, as she noticed that I was excited to hunt as well. She knew as well that I had been spending most of my time around the camp, and the cave, taking care of dragons, and teaching them, and helping them with a lot of different tasks.
I looked up at the sky, with a bit of a smile. Then I looked back over to Zita, and I smiled back at her. I then began to speak up, making sure that Kota could hear me talk as well.
"That sounds great! I cant wait to catch some stuff... I am starving, I haven't eaten in over a week." I said to her. She looked at me, and normally you would think that a dragon would be surprised, but she knew just as good as I did, that food was quite hard to come by nowadays.
Once she made sure that I was okay with it, she then began to turn her head around to start walking that way. We were about halfway there to the location already, so it should not take us too long to get to where it was that we were heading off to.
Just as I began to take my first steps behind her, I heard Kotas voice, as he began to speak to the both of us, raising his voice just a little bit, making sure that he knew that both of us could hear him as he talked to us.
"Jangra... Wont your father be upset that we are going outside of our territory?" He said. I looked at him for a few moments, and then I squinted my eyes at him. He had never called Himla, my father. He had always called him the leader, or called him by his actual name.
I could tell that, much like all of the other dragons in the tribe, he had lost all of his respect for him. It did not very long for a dragon to lose respect, and blame another dragon, that was one thing that I knew about dragons for sure.
I looked at him for a few moments, as I saw Zita turn her head over to me. It had seemed as if she had forgotten that my father was indeed the leader of our tribe in the first place. I had wondered if this was the first time that they had done things that were against the rules of the tribe.
I shook it off however, as I was not too worried about both of them at the exact moment. I really doubted whether my father cared about any dragons leaving the tribe, or going out of the territory at the exact moment right now. I was sure that he did not give 2 damns, about any dragon in the tribe, not even me, his own son.
I looked at the both of them, 1 at a time, as I saw that they were both genuinely interest in my response the the question that Kota had just asked me in the first place. To be honest, I was not sure how to even respond to it, but I thought of a good idea of what to say to them right away, that might be a bit of a cliffhanger as well.
"Well... It is a good thing that we do not have to worry about my father right now. Soon we wont have to worry about him at all." I said to the both of them. They both looked at me, a bit confused and a bit surprised as to what I had just said, and what I had meant by it as well.
Neither of them had anything on what to say to what I had just said. I shook my head, and then rolled my eyes as well. Surely all of the dragons had to have seen this coming at some point soon right? I know both of my friends were smart dragons as well...
I began to walk ahead of the both of them, even thought I had no idea where we were going at all. I just knew the general direction. It was more just done as a bit of a statement, as I was trying to prove my point at the same time. Surely they had seen this coming...
As I began walking, Kota then stepped in front of me to stop me. I did my best to act confused as well, as it was all a part of my plan. It confused both of them even more as well I could tell. As I stopped, I waited for Kota to go ahead and begin speaking to me.
"What are you talking about? Is your father sick? Is he planning on leaving us?" He said to me. I looked at him for a few moments, and I was not sure if he was excited about what he had just said, it did kind of get me a bit angry with the way he had just said that however.
I did my best to keep my calm. As I saw the look on his face, as it seemed to be a bit of a worried look more than it being a look of him being excited. It seemed that at least some dragons remembered how good of a leader my father was... Or at least how good of a leader my father used to be.
I closed my eyes for a few moments, trying to clear out all of those thoughts. I knew that both of them had every right to be worried about what I had just said, but I did not feel like talking too deep on it in that moment in time.
I opened my eyes, and saw that they were both staring at me still. I rolled my eyes, and then I sat there for a few moments, as I thought of something hood to say back to the both of them, that would get them to stop asking so many questions.
"You will find out very soon... In the next couple of days in fact... I am not going to tell you... Zita you take the lead though, no more questions for either of you... Lets just go hunting." I said to them. They looked at me for a few moments, and I could tell that neither of them were too sure.
For such smart dragons that I knew they were, they sure were acting a bit dumb for not understanding at what I was getting at. I was sure that I could not be any more blatant that I just was. After a few more moments both of them nodded to me, and Zita took the lead just as I had asked.
I followed Zita, and Kota did the same as well, though I could feel that he was staring me down the whole time that we were walking as well. I wondered if he thought that he was an oracle dragon... He did know that he could not just read my thoughts like that right?
I was definitely a hard dragon to read, unless I was making it completely obvious, which most of the time, when I was, I was doing it on purpose as well. I blinked a few times, trying not to worry about my friends too much, as they weren't in any danger, they were just confused.
These were confusing times though, I was just as confused as they were. I wondered if we were the last red dragon tribe that was alive out there. I had not heard much from them lately, I knew that they had given up on trying to talk to my father.
They had just told us that they were going in hiding, and that was the last that I had heard from them. They had not told me where it was that they might be hiding in the first place. I wondered if we really had much of a chance in this war.
I was pretty sure that we would be spending the rest of our lives hiding from them. If they found us, they would just attack us, and kill us. We would not stand very much of a chance. We were split apart, and they were in large groups, of however many of them that there even were.
All I knew is that Yikla had told me that they had spent the last 250 years repopulating as much, and as fast as they possibly could. It scared me to even think about it, they had really spent a lot of time planning this war.
It wasn't even really a war, it was more like murder... We didn't have any chance, there were not very many of us left... That human better come up with a plan soon, or he would be next. I closed my eyes for a few moments, as I thought about the human.
It was weird the way he was, almost as if he were a ghost. As if he was there, he was talking to us, but he was not actually there at the same time as well. I opened my eyes, realizing that I was getting a little bit off track of where the other 2 were going.
I hurried up and went back over to them, as Zita then stopped in front of the both of us. Both Kota and I looked a bit confused at the reason that she had stopped herself. After just a few moments, she then turned her head over to the both of us, and she nodded to me and him.
I looked at her, waiting for her to speak, but then she moved herself out of the way, so that me and Kota could see what was in front of us. Once I saw it, my eyes opened up very wide. I did not expect to see all of that, there were so many groups of animals, cows, sheep, pigs, horses, all over the place, I did not even know where to begin.
Kota looked a bit surprised as well, he then, as I could tell, shut his mouth on what he had been questioning her for a few moments ago. I was not so sure of her decision as well, but it turned out to be a very smart decision indeed. I did not expect to ever see so many animals in my life.
Kota and I just sat there and stared into the large field, for a very long period of time as well. Neither of us had a word to say to one another. Zita put a big smile on her face, as she waited for one of us to talk. But both of our thoughts were just lost on the field, so she spoke for us.
"Alright you two... I have only done this a few times... I have a plan, now that I am not alone this time, so both of you please hear me out on this." She said to us. Me and Kota both nodded to her, to let her know that we were listening to what it was that she was about to tell us about.
She looked at us completely still for a few moments longer. I then realized that she wanted one of us to speak, so that she knew 100% that she was being heard. I stepped up this time, and I began to speak for what both me and Kota were thinking.
"We are listening... Do not worry... We are just so amazed at seeing so many animals in 1 area." I said to her. Kota nodded to her, agreeing with what I had just said to her. She looked at me for a few moments, and then a large grin appeared on her face.
She still sat there for just a little while longer, just to let us enjoy the view of the beautiful and open field that was in front of us, before she then began to talk on what her plan was in all of this in the first place. Once she began to speak, both me and Kota turned our heads over to her.
"Okay... So... The idea is, we split into 3 separate groups, forming a bit of a triangle... Then we all run at them at the same time, before they have a chance to realize what is going on. Then before they run over to the woods, once we have gotten 1, we try to get a 2nd... We can carry 2 on us back to camp. It might not work, I have not tried it before... Just an idea." She said to us. I looked at her for a few moments, thinking through all of what she had just said through my head.
I thought about it for a few moments, and then I realized how good of an idea it really was. They would be confused and scared, and they would scatter everywhere like flies. If you did not catch 2, you would not be a very good dragon at hunting.
Kota thought through it in his head, it took him a bit longer to comprehend it through his head as well. After a few moments, he too then nodded to her as well. I turned my head back over to her, waiting to see what it was that she was going to say next.
She did not say anything however, as it once again seemed like she was waiting for one of us to tell her that it was a good idea. It did not take long for Kota to step up for his mate, as he had a big smile on his face, as he then began to talk to her.
"It sounds like a great idea! Why did you not think of this sooner? We should be having multiple groups coming out here to get some prey." He said to her. She looked at him for a few moments, and then she shook her head, and then rolled her eyes at him.
I was a bit confused as to why she was doing that as well. Did she not realize how smart her own idea even was? Me and Kota both sat there, and waited for her to speak. Both me and him were confused as to why she was just putting it off as to why it was no big deal. She finally decided to respond to him after a few more moments.
"Well, first off... If dragons keep coming into the area, then there wont be as many animals here anymore... And 2nd off, it is technically not allowed by the tribe. We should not be here in the first place." She said back to him. I looked at her for a few moments, still not comprehending on the fact of what she had just said.
I then realized what she had said had made perfect sense. If a dragon found out about this, then we could get in a lot of trouble for walking out of our territories land without conformation. We sat there for a few moments longer, as Kota then nodded to her finally understanding what she was getting at.
I looked at the large flocks of animals all around us, wondering which ones we should go after. Personally my favorite animal to feast on was a pig, but I know that ever dragon had different taste, so it would be a bit of a different taste to another dragon.
I also then realized that it would not be really so much of a feast, as it was more just for us to survive. I knew that very soon all of the dragons in the tribe would go to bed with hungry bellies. When we came back with a bunch of prey, then it would light up the faces of many dragons.
I also realized that maybe getting pigs was not the smartest idea. While it may be my favorite thing to eat, it also was one of the smaller foods to choose from at the same time as well. I looked at the horses, and the cows at the same time, trying to figure out which one would be the best to hunt.
We had still been sitting here for quite a long time. I wondered if the others were having the same thoughts as well, or if they were thinking of something completely different all together. I got up from where I was sitting and I made the call, as I knew I was also going to be the next deputy, so there was going to be a lot of that soon.
"Lets go after the cows, they are one of the biggest, and they are a lot easier to catch than horses." I said to the both of them. They both kept on staring at the field for a bit longer, and I wondered if they had even heard what I had just said in the first place.
I looked over to the group of cows, which were a bit further back. It would be a bit harder to get to, without any other animal noticing, but it would also be worth it in the long run, as long as everything all went according to plan as well.
They both sat there, just for a few moments, as Kota finally was the first one to turn his head over to me, and let me know that he had been listening to what it was that I had just said to the both of them. Zita turned her head over as well, once she heard the voice of her mate begin to talk.
"Sounds like a plan..." He said to me. We sat there for a few moments longer, and then he continued on with where he had left off when he had begun to speak to me. "Alright, Jangra... You go to the back since you are the one that is the most silent, and me and Zita will go to the left, and right side."
He turned his head over to his mate, just to make sure she had heard what he had said, and that she was paying attention to her. She had her eyes back on the field when he had first begun to speak on the 2nd part, but she then turned her head over to him.
She saw that both me and him were waiting on her, just to make sure that the plan was all clear for her. She then nodded to us, and I nodded back to her as well. We once again looked at the field, but this time we had our eyes focused on one spot in particular...
It was the large croup of cows, they were busy chewing on the last of the green grass that was there for the year. They had no idea what was coming, they did not expect it, and it would soon be the last grass that a few of them would ever eat.
After a little while longer, and a few more short moments of silence between all of us, I then stepped up for all of us, just to let them know that I was ready, and they needed to be ready as well. I had never done anything like this, so it was all very new to me, as I then began to speak once I made sure that they were both once again paying attention to my voice.
"Alright... Lets go... The sooner that we get back to camp with some prey, the better." I said to them. Zita turned her head over to me, and then she nodded to me, to let me know that she had heard what I had just said to them.
After a few moments, and me just staring at Kota to make sure that he had heard me too, he turned his head over to me, and then he lowered his head a bit apologetically, realizing that we were waiting in him right now. He then nodded to me as well, just as his mate had done.
Once I knew that the both of them were ready, all 3 of of us then flew higher up into the air at the same time. To make sure that none of the other animals could hear us or see us as we then began to fly over to the cows. I looked at the other animals a bit worried, a lot due to the fact that I knew how loud dragons were.
It did not seem that they could hear us however, as none of them looked up at the loud noise that it sounded to me as we flapped our wings to head over to the cows. I could tell that the other 2 were thinking the exact same thing as well, as the noticed too how loud it was that we were flying.
Once we were to the cows though, I nodded to each of them to make sure that they were ready for this. They each nodded to me in turn, and then I began to fly over to my spot, on the far back side of the cows. I landed as silent as I could, though it did not seem very quiet to me.
It was quiet enough so that the cows could not hear me however. I watched as the other 2 landed in their spots as well. The both then looked over at me to make sure I knew when it was ready for us to fly after the cows. I sat there for a few short moments, and then I closed my eyes.
This had to be done perfectly, I was pretty sure that all of us could easily catch 1, and kill 1 as well... The 2nd cow I was not so sure of... I just had to hope that they would be confused as to which way they should be running off to.
I sat there for a few moments, and then I looked up at the sky, and I prayed to god, to help us catch this prey. I knew that he could hear me, and I knew that these were the most troubling times for him to be listening at the same time as well.
I remember meeting him as well, though the memory was quite a blur to me. As it had been the moment that I had woken up from the dream, or whatever it was that you wanted to call it. I just remember talking to him, and it seemed so weird at the same time.
I then opened my eyes, trying to drown out those thoughts at the same time as well. The more time that I wasted here, the more likely that one of the cows were to notice me. I shook my head, and then I turned my head looking at both of my friends one at a time.
I made sure that they were ready, and then I nodded to each one of another. They nodded back to me, and then they lowered their body, ready at any moment to give it a go. I sat there for a bit longer, still not sure if this would really work in the first place.
I shook my head, and then I got up, and then I flew after 1 specific cow that looked a lot bigger than the others. I got there, just in time, as the other cows noticed me right away. They all began running in the opposite direction as to where I had come from.
I didn't pay attention to that however, as I knew what was about to happen next, as I then began to tear the cow apart, to put the cow out of its misery. I then lifted my head up as I saw the other cows had gone quite a far bit ahead of me.
I looked over at where Zita and Kota had been wondering why the cows were not freaking out and running all over the place now, but they were nowhere to be seen. I was a bit confused about it for a few moments, that was until I saw the cows far ahead had their backs turned and were running back over to me.
It confused the cows that were closer to me, as to what was going on in the first place, and then the large group of cows suddenly began to run in all different directions. 1 ran right up on me as well, as it did not see that I was right there with 1 of its dead brethren.
I easily tore it apart, and finished it off. I realized as well that there were a few others that were close enough for me to get a 3rd cow as well, but I stopped myself from doing so. There was no way I would be able to carry 3. 2 was hard enough on my back and front paws.
If I killed a 3rd one just for sport, that would practically be destroying the environment at this point. It was best just to leave the rest of them be. As I watched them all walk away from me, scaring off the other animals that were in the field as well.
I saw that both Kota and Zita had 2 dead cows side by side as well, as they both had big smiles on their faces. Each of us picked up the cows that we had caught, and we met up with each other in the middle of where the group of cows had been in the first place.
I was the first one to begin speaking to the rest of them, as I wanted Zita to know how good of an idea that had been in the first place, and I also wanted to let them know how excited that I had just been. It had been quite some time that I had some real fun like that. They both nodded to me with big smiles on their faces.
"That was a great idea Zita! We should do this another time... Just don't tell anyone about this... Not even Kip." I said to them. Kota looked at me, and then he nodded. Zita nodded right away, as if it was without question to her.
We all sat there for a few moments longer, and I was the first one to pick up my cows. As I took the lead all the way back to camp, the other 2 looked at me with big smiles on their faces, as the walked behind me.We got back into camp, and at first a lot of dragons did not find it strange to see that 3 dragons were walking into camp with prey. Then they realized right away that it was the son of the leader of the tribe, and he was with his friends, and they had a lot more than just 1 animal with them.
A bunch of dragons looked up at us, and their eyes went wide as they all looked so surprised to see us with so many cows on us at once. It would be enough to feed at least 30 dragons for the next week or so. A lot dragons poked their head out to see why there was so much loud talking going on around the camp.
I lifted my head up high, and then nodded for the others to do the same as well. They both looked at me, and they nodded as well, as they lifted their heads up with big smiles on their faces at the same time as well. I smiled at them, as we then began to head over to the prey pile, with a few hungry dragons following us as well.
1 dragon in front of us stood out, with a big smile on its face, as it began to speak much louder than the rest of the dragons, clearly done on purpose as well, as she spoke up, it put an even bigger smile on my face at the same time as well.
"Wow! Great job you 3!" She said so that every dragon in camp could hear her. I nodded my thanks to the young she dragon, as she blushed a bit, due to the fact that I had acknowledged her in the first place. I rolled my eyes, I could never get used to that.
Once we were up closer to the pile, each of us dropped our prey onto the pile, as I dropped 1 myself and then I left the other 1 on me. No dragon questioned what I was doing. Nor did they make the first move to get some of the prey that we had caught.
I sat there for a few moments, and I rolled my eyes. I could clearly see more than 1 hungry dragon among us, as I sat there for a few moments longer. I then saw Socra in the background, as she had her eyes squinted at me. It was as if she knew where we had gotten these cows in the first place.
I looked away from her, and then I spoke up loudly for the rest of the tribe to hear. All the dragons already had their heads turned towards me, due to the fact that I was the son of the leader, and that's usually where they had their heads turned whenever I was in camp.
"Everyone... Eat up! 5 dragons per cow!" I yelled loudly for each dragon to hear. It did not take long for dragons to run over to the cows... Surprisingly they did not fight over who got which cow either, and they spread it amongst themselves. I then spoke up a bit loudly so that dragons could hear once again. "2 other dragons would like to split 1 with me and my friends as well?"
I sat there for a few moments, thinking that dragons would be flocking to me right now, but it seemed as if most dragons were a bit too scared to step up and speak to the son of leader of the tribe. After a few moments however, 1 dragon stepped up, and he began to speak, I recognized him to be Kip.
"I will... But I think next time we should ration it out even more, there are a lot more than just 30 hungry dragons... We are running on slim pickings..."
