I wake up to hear some shuffling and loud noises going on underneath my bed. I look out a small window to see it's still dark outside. I get up trying not to wake Newt. I look under the bed to see Thomas and the boy we met at dinner Aris, crawling through the vents. I tuck in and follow them to wherever they were going. The boy motions "hurry this way." They haven't seen me yet and I should eavesdrop but I need to know what is going on. Thomas looks behind him to see me crawling "What are you doing in here Y/N?" He whispers "I'm sorry I just wanted to see what was going on." I say back "it's fine, I trust her too." Aris says back calmly he stands over a lite up part and puts his finger to his mouth hushing both Thomas and I. We look down to see Dr. Crawford walking and we hear wheels being rolled behind her soon we see a stretcher that has what looks like a.. body on it.. she swipes her key card and they roll it off 2 stretches off into a room before the doors close behind them. "What the hell was that?!" I ask in whisper "they bring in new ones every night, like clock work." Aris said back "what do they do with them?" Thomas asks with look on his face like he doesn't wanna know the answer.. "I don't know I have never gotten that far. We need to explore that section. One people go in they don't come back out." Aris replies "why are you showing us this?" I question "because I trust you too, I know you guys think this is as off as I do. Maybe the others will listen to you guys.. Come on, we gotta go before someone notices we are gone." And he off down the vents. We make our way back to the room and I try to lightly lay back down next to a still sleeping Newt. He is sound asleep and snoring just lightly, I admire him for a second before I fall asleep as well.
The next was just like all the others, tests, running, meals, at dinner they call out names like they did last night. The boys have questioned what Thomas and I told them almost like they don't believe us. Newt wants to believe what we have said but has a bit of trouble. He believes we need to keep our heads down and not draw any attention to ourselves. I agree with him but I just have a different feeling about this place.. Thomas gets up and tries to leave and guard stops him and says "your name wasn't called go sit back down." He says pushing him back "I just wanna see my friend, can I get through?" He says he turns likes he's gonna walk to our table before he turns around and pushes the guard. We all run to the scene and rat man walks in and pushes Thomas back. We are thrown immediately into our rooms and the door shuts and lock behind us like usual. "What the bloody hell was that about?! You really didn't think they would let you through?!" Newt yells at Thomas "No of course." Thomas says exposing a key that he stole off the guard. The boys let a small gasp when they realize. "I'm gonna find out what's on the other side of the door." Thomas said "No Thomas! All we know is these people recused us from WCKD, we don't know if they are bad people we need to leave everything alone. Right Y/N?!" Newt turns his attention to me "I uh.." I try to think of the right thing to say "of course you agree with him." Newt says before going to sit down a bunk with a look of defeat. I follow him and sit down next to him he is looking down at his feet. "I'm sorry Newt.. I just.. I don't know what it is about this place, it just doesn't feel right.." I say to him he lifts his head and looks at me "I understand that love, but I finally feel like we are all okay for a minute and I just wanted things to be normal or whatever normal may be." He said looking at me with a apologetic look on his face. " I know Newtie... I just don't think it's here.." I reply back to his as I put my hand in his. "If you have a bad feeling.. then I'll believe you, I trust you Y/N." Newt said in a calmer voice "thank you Newtie.. I appreciate that." I respond as I kiss his cheek. He pulls my hand to his face and kisses it lightly as we walk back over to the rest of the group "I'm sorry mate, I just got a little upset. If you guys believe something isn't right I'll believe you. Just be careful okay?" Newt says. As he says that a vent can be heard hitting the ground Aris pops out of it and motions Thomas to join him. I'm gonna sit this one out because I'm not sure I can handle what I would see on the other side of the door. "I'm gonna find out what's going on or if I'm just being paranoid.. just cover for me alright?" Thomas says we all nod back agreeing to his statement. The two boys go off into the vent as the rest of us are left to sit and wonder. There is still no sign of Teresa, we haven't seen her in days. I hope she's okay I think to myself. Newt and I lay down on a bunk we have chosen to share. "When I got pulled out of here yesterday, the guard took me to a room where I had to talk to Jansen, he asked me about what I remember about WCKD.. I refused to answer him and he threatened that if I didn't something would happen to you...." I let out, I have been needing to tell him that since it happened I was just kinda scared. "What did you tell him?" Newt asks "well.. I kind stood up and slammed the table and yelled in his face." I let out a small laugh and does Newt. "That's my girl." He says my heart melts at the sound of that. "Y'know Y/N whatever happens I'll never leave you. Even if we don't go to a safe haven or whatever they are promising us, you will never have to worry about being without me. I promise." Newt says and places a small kiss on my lips. "I know and same goes for you.. you are gonna have to deal with me for the rest of forever." I laugh "good." Newt replies we both end up drifting off into sleep.
