EDDIE'S POV

I sat at my desk surronded by boxes. My mother fell asleep hours ago. The losers will be at my house in a hour, I have time to say goodbye. I can't physically say goodbye, but I can write a goodbye.

Mother,
I would thank you for taking care of me and loving me through all the ups and downs. But, that would be bullshit. I can thank you for making me realise how much I don't need you. I might miss you. I might see a grumpy mother yelling at her kids and think of you. I might see a bottle of pills and think of you. I might see an inhaler and think of you. Or, I might not think of you at all.

I'm leaving, and don't try to find me. I'm eighteen. I'm an adult. Don't report me missing, I'll be safe and happy. Isn't that what you want? You want me to be happy, right?

Fuck you.

Love,
Eddie

I signed my name and smiled. I opened my bedroom door and taped it to the front of my door. I silently closed my door and sat on my bed. Richie and I decided to bring Richie's matress instead if mine. We won't have a bed frame, but we can sleep on the floor.

I grinned when I heard Richie tapping my window. I slid it open and kissed Richie's forehead. "Ready Eds?" Richie asked. "I've never been more ready in my life."

I looked down and saw Beverly waving.  I waved back and grabbed the first box.

We succsefully moved all the boxes out my room. I smiled at my bare room and heard shuffling behind me. Richie was crawling into my room through the window.

"I'll miss this room but I won't miss my mother." I stated. "This is it." Richie whsipered. I turned to face Richie and grabbed the taller boy's hand. "Lets get the fuck out of here." I whispered.
