Richie ran to Beverly's house after school ended. Richie let himself in. Richie was like a son to Beverly's aunt. "Richie?" Beverly's aunt, Georgia Marsh, said. "Hi Georgia! Just here for Bev." Richie stated. "She's upstairs." Richie ran up the steep stairs and frantically knocked on the door.
"Come in." Richie heard Beverly call out. Richie swung open the door.
"Hey Rich." Beverly greeted. "I don't know if I fucked up or I'm amazing." Richie said. "You're fucked up. Sit down." Richie obeyed and sat on Beverly's carpeted floor.
"What did you do?" Beverly questioned. "I asked Eddie to the fuck prom prom." Richie admitted. "Really? That's amazing!" Beverly cheered. "No! What do I do? He's going to see me and laugh in my face and say, fuck you Richie Tozier! You thought I'd go to this stupid fucking dance with you?" Richie impersonated Eddie. "He won't do that." Beverly reassured.
"How do you know?" Richie asked. "I might have never met the guy. But, by the way you talk about him everyday, I think he will be perfect." Beverly said. "Yeah. He's perfect. Do you have everything set up for tomorrow?" Richie asked trying to change the subject. "Yeah. Come on." Beverly led Richie out of her room and to the basement.
The basement was on big square with a shitty, old staircase in the corner. The walls were painted a dark blue. There was a plastic table in the center of one wall. A shitty boombox on a small table sitting in the corner. Christmas lights were hung up on the ceiling, streamers taped on the walls.
"Looking good Bev." Richie complimented. "There will be some food and booze on that table tomorrow." Beverly pointed out. "As there should be." Richie smiled.

"I need to head home." Richie stated. "Alright, be ready for tomorrow. Look nice. Don't worry to much, okay?" Beverly said. "I'll try." Richie said before leaving the Marsh residence.
