Lily

Today was the day I broke up with Toby. He accused me of cheating to which I immediately squashed any accusations. Toby was the second person I've ever liked in my life. He was the stereotypical second boyfriend. The one who taught me how to love myself more than my relationship.

Times like this made me wish I had girlfriends to hangout around but I quickly gave up on making friends after dating Luke. Many people began using me for my connection to the boys to the point that I gave up on making new friends all together. This is exactly how I ended up in the living room of Ashton's Sydney home. Surrounded by people I barely even know.

Ashton was one of the most amazing and humble person I've ever met. That being said, his 5 bedroom house caught me by surprise. He had managed to buy a huge house a few blocks from his original childhood home. The outside of his house was a simple beige color with an obnoxious orange front door. The interior had a retro yet modern twist to it.

"So Lily if you don't mind me asking, why don't you just sleep around? You're a young and beautiful girl" Some guy slurred whilst leaning his arm by my head

"Because I have respect for myself" I sass and gently push him away from me before walking away

"Lily bug! I've been looking for you everywhere. You look hot for a single lady." Kay Kay exclaimed once she found me "Come on lets get you some more drinks in your system."

"I have no idea how a halo isn't constantly hovering above your head." I tell her as she hands me a beer from the kitchen

"Trust me you're going to need it. Have you met Sierra?" Kay Kay asks and I choke on my beer a little

"Luke's girlfriend? No I haven't." I tell her with a slight frown

"Well you're about too. They're coming over right now" She says while giving me a sympathetic look to which only made me panic more.

I contemplated just standing still hoping that I'd turn invisible. After deciding against it I chugged my beer to get some liquid courage. I may look like an alcoholic for chugging my beer in less than 10 seconds but at least I'll be drunk looking like a crazy person.

"Kay!" Sierra yelled and embraced Kay Kay into a tight hug. I awkwardly moved to the side and gave Luke a small smile to which he returned with a smile and a nod.

"Sierra this is Lily. Lily this is my girlfriend Sierra" Luke introduced us to one another

"It's nice to meet you" I tell her and stick out my hand

"Nice to meet you too. I heard so much about you." She takes my hand into hers and gives me a smile.

She seems perfect. She sounds perfect too. Luke gushed about her for a while the other day when he went to my house. I'm glad he found someone so good for hm. She's everything that I wished I was for him. My Luke deserved happiness.

"I've heard so much about you as well. I'm glad I got to meet you." I tell her and smile. I notice Luke looking at me but when I looked up to catch his eye he quickly looked away. "I'll be right back I need to use the rest room."

"Oh you can use the one upstairs. Just take a left at the top of the stairs and it the first door to your right." Kay Kay tells me and I nod

I quickly rush to the bathroom and splash some water to my face. An overwhelming urge to cry took over me as I lean onto the sink and catch my breath. I broke up with Luke because I didn't like being in the spotlight. I ruined my friendships with everyone I grew up with. They all moved on and the one person I had in my life was possessive and borderline abusive.
