Its L&L day. On this day 11 years ago I met the boy I'd one day love. We celebrated this day every year since we met and for the first time in a long time I feel genuinely sad.
Normally I'm an optimistic person and just take one step at a time but today hit me like a truck. This time last year I didn't even talk to Luke. He tweeted a picture of an ice cream cone and I did the same but that was as far as it went that day. It was awfully lonely being alone on this day. Today was different though, Luke's home and we're talking once again.
It's hard not knowing where I stand with him and it's harder not knowing how he feels. It's been a rough few weeks and I just hope everything will get easier.
It was mid day when I finally decided to get up and make myself some food. I listened to some old One Direction and Justin Bieber music to lighten my mood a bit as I began making pasta. With my hair tied up in a low ponytail and my oversized sweatshirt I danced around my kitchen and drowned out my day.
Halfway through I heard a knock and my phone immediately starts ringing. Once I checked my phone I noticed it was Ashton, instantly making me smile.
"Mr Irwin you better have a good reason to call me." I said into the phone
"Come outside now!" Ashton yelled into the phone and hung up. I turned off the stove and walked over to my front lawn and there was Ashton standing on the bed of his tuck blasting music while Kay Kay danced around behind him. "Happy L&L day bug"
I stood at my doorframe in complete shock in nothing more than a tank top and fluffy pig pajama bottoms along with bunny slippers. Ashton is blaring Paparazzi by Lady Gaga through a stereo next to him.
"Are you crazy I have neighbors get down" I laugh and walk over to him while he's still singing. I'm secretly hoping my ring is catching this so I can watch this for the rest of my life
"I'm your biggest fan I'll follow until you love me-" Ashton screams and holds his hand out so I can get into the truck with him and Kay Kay to which I take and join the couple
To an outsider we probably look completely mental considering its 4 in the afternoon on a random Thursday and we're outside my house dancing in a car but at least we were having some fun while doing it.
My favorite part of the song comes on and practically scream into an imaginary microphone "I'll be your girl backstage at your show velvet ropes and guitars yeah 'cause you're my rock star in between the sets eyeliner and cigarettes shadow is burnt yellow dance and we turn my lashes are dry purple teardrops I cry, it don't have a price loving you is cherry pie"
When the song comes to an end Ashton helps me and Kay Kay off the truck as we walk up the pathway to my front door. Without thinking twice I invited them to have dinner at my house with me.
"So how did you and Luke start celebrating 'LL day'?" Kay Kay asked as we ate pasta on my burnt orange couch
Luke and I met on the 13th of August 2008. Our parents loved one another and would let us spend the whole day together and sometimes even have sleepovers. On our year anniversary of knowing one another me and my mum showed up to Luke's house with ice cream. That started a life time amount of teasing from his older brothers but it never really phased us.
"Silly Lily and Lukey Pukey are in loveeeee" 15 year old Jack teased us while Ben laughed at him
"Jack leave them alone its adorable" Liz scolded him
"Mum they're babies and on a date" Ben laughed while Luke and I ate our ice cream
"At least one of my boys can get a date" Liz sassed back making my mum laugh and high five her
