Kai dropped Nya off on her first day of school in his truck then drove away for another destination as Nya smiled at the campus. "I can't believe I'm here." She said aloud just as Jay walked beside her. "Yeah, I know right?" He said in reply, his own accent standing out. It sounded like an odd mix of brittish and african with a hint of austrailian. And odd accent unless you were from their world. "Oh, your accent. Are you from Serpenhime?" She asked and he nodded. "Jay." He said while holding out a hand that she shook. "Nya." She replied and the two smiled.

"So, you a freshman to?" She asked and he nodded. "Yup, this is actually my first time leaving my country too, so I'm super nervous." He answered and she giggled. "I can bet. This is my fist time really leaving home, so it's kind of scary." She said and he gave a soft smile. "Well, I hope we can be good friends?" He asked and she nodded. "I'd love that." She responded and the two began talking about random stuff while they went about everything, meeting up between classes.

Kai drove up to the Garmadon family mansion and stopped at the gate where he showed his ID and was let in by the gate guard. He then drove up in front of the steps leading to the massive porch were the front doors were. Standing on the porch were Lloyd and his father. Both Garmadon males walked down the steps as Kai unlocked the truck for Lloyd to hop in his passenger seat.

"Thanks again for your help." Garmadon said with a smile and Kai nodded. "No problem boss man. Lloyd is a good kid anyways and it's not like I had anything to do. It's my day off after all." Replied the of duty cop. "Either way, it's a big help. What with the usual driver ending up in the hospital and all." Garmadon went on. "Seriously sir, it's nothing." Kai insisted. "Dad, I'm gonna be late." Lloyd interjected with a roll of his eyes and his father backed up. "Of course! Sorry, Kai. Maybe you could join us for dinner?"

Kai smiled. "I'm having dinner with my sister tonight. She's making some nice good old southern style fried chicken. I haven't had real fried chicken in so long.... mhmmm.... there is no way I'm passing this up sir." He said, his accent hinting through in his anticipation of his dinner later. "Perhaps tomorrow then?" Garmadon suggested and Kai nodded. "LATE!" Lloyd cried and both men kicked into gear. Garmadon went back inside and Kai drove off.

"Alright, spill. No way Lloyd Garmadon actually cares about showing up to school on time. Not ever." Kai said while glancing at Lloyd with a knowing look. Daring the teen to lie to someone who knew him so well. "Alright... I just really wanted to get out of there. You know how long winded my dad gets when he talks to you." Lloyd replied. "Truth be told, he does see me as a surrogate son." Kai said as his head passed side to side in thought.

"Exactly! He doesn't even talk to me that much! And I'm his actual son!" Lloyd growled and Kai sighed. "Look, I'm an adult, he's an adult. We have more topics to talk about that we both find interest in. Meanwhile, you're still young. Very young. He's awkward and doesn't know how to go about such things. Top his long hours on top and it's a recipe for disaster. Meanwhile, I often get assigned to protect him and junk, ya know? It's no bodys fault pretty much. Just... Try to find something you both can bond over?" Kai said, going off on a tangent.

"Like what? What could me and him possibly have in common?" Lloyd asked in disbelief as he started glaring out the window. "How about sports? He likes soccer." Kai tried and Lloyd shook his head. "Oh! Your martial arts classes? You could talk about that. What... Uh... What are you studying now?" Kai tried again. "I'm already the highest rank in Taekwondo, kung fu, karate, jiu jitsu, and am now studying ninjutsu." Lloyd replied and Kai nodded slowly. "Talk about that?" He offered and Lloyd rolled his eyes. "They're just for self defense Kai."
