Chapter 22: Drop the Bomb part 3

Lloyd sat in the hall way as the doctor and nurses checked Kai over and he waited on the others to get there.

Ray, Nelson, Nya, and his parents were the first to arrive.

Misako sat by her son and Garmadon sat to his other side. "What happened? Why are you upset? Isn't Kai waking up a good thing?" Misako asked and Lloyd let a tear slip.

"Mom..." Lloyd said in a quivering voice. "He doesn't know who I am." He said before breaking down into tears as Nya gasped and looked to the door of Kai's hospital room.

Just as Misako got Lloyd to calm down and Jay & Cole had shown up, the doctor came out.

"I have good knews and bad news." He said and Garmadon looked to him. "Bad news first." He said and the doctor nodded.

"He is suffering from memory loss, but it isn't permanent. He should get it back in about a week. However, he's also paralyzed from the waist down. We still aren't sure if its permanent or not, and need to run some tests. Good knews? Other then needing to sleep with a breathing machine for a while, he's fine. I expect his breathing to return to normal within a month. Since his breathing still has him at high risk, however, we will need to keep him longer." The doctor said as everyone payed close attention.

The fact that Kai would remember him within a week had Lloyd happy, but then his father turned to him. "Now, you will be coming back home and going back to school. I don't care how you protest. Kai is awake now and you still have a future to secure. I'm sure he wouldn't be proud of you skipping school like this anyways." Garmadon said and Lloyd nodded. He still wanted to stay with Kai, but his dad had a point.

"Can I still visit him?" Lloyd asked and Garmadon sighed. "Yes, but only after you've finished your homework and caught up in your classes." He said and Lloyd nodded. That was fair.

Lloyd grinned as he jumped out of the town car, leaving his bodyguard in his dust, and ran into the hospital. Not only had he finally caught up in school, but the doctor called. Kai had his memories back.

He signed in and raced up the stairs. The elevator was to slow for him.

He then raced into the room right as a nurse was setting down a tub for Kai's bath since he still couldn't walk and still couldn't remove his cannula.

"Um, I'm sorry, but this patient needs his bath." The nurse said and Lloyd looked to Kai, who smiled softly at him before turning to the nurse. "I'd rather he bathe me actually. If you don't mind." He said and the nurse nodded before leaving the room. Lloyd then shut and locked the door before going over to Kai and kissing him.

The two held that kiss for several minutes as Lloyd let a tear slip from the high emotional state he was in.

When they pulled back, Kai smiled at Lloyd. "Now, I'm sure my horny as hell boyfriend isn't going to deny the chance to give me a sponge a bath." He said and Lloyd grinned before winking. "Don't you know it!"

"Ita frater, scio te esse sollicitus*." Jay spoke into his phone as he paced the kitchen in Cole's apartment. Cole sat at the counter, watching his boyfriend as the collage student played with the hem of his hoddie, a nervous habit.

[*Yes brother, I know you're worried.]

"Non, te sunt non adire!*" Jay cried in frustration as his free hand dropped his hoodie hem to fly through the air. "Quia necesse est focusing in schola, non obsessively overprotective frater meus hosting.**" Jay went on, trying to convince Pythor to stay in Serpenhime. If Pythor were to visit, he'd surely find out about his relationship with Cole after all.

[*No, you are not visiting!]
[**Because I need to be focusing on school, not hosting my obsessively overprotective brother.]

Cole continued to sip from the glass of soda he had in his hand. He knew to be silent when Jay was talking to Pythor after all. However, he was hoping Jay would hang up soon. Why? Because they needed to visit Kai in the hospital before visiting hours were over.

When Jay was facing in his boyfriend's direction, the mob boss waved his hand to get his blue eyed lover's attention then tapped his watch. This action prompted Jay to check the time before speaking to his brother again.

"EGO postulo impetro off nunc.  Amicus meus est, et ego in hospitali coram adire volunt videre illa quae in horas.  Et beatos vos post tergum.*" Jay said before hanging up on his brother, then turned to his lover. "Let's get going, we have a crooked cop who just got his memories back to visit." He said and Cole smiled at him. "Then let's go."

[*I need to get off now. A friend of mine is in the hospital and I want to see them before visiting hours are up. I'll call you back later.]

Lloyd sat in a chair by Kai's hospital bed as the two watched the TV in peace. After a little bit, Nya walked in with a smile. "Hey, I brought your mail." She said as she walked over to her brother. Kai smiled at this and excepted the mail as Lloyd smiled at Nya. "Hey, how's school?" Asked the blond and Nya shrugged as her brother opened his mail.

"Been having issues with catching up, but Jay is helping me with the stuff I've missed in the classes we share and my other friends are helping with the other classes, so it's all good." Nya explained and Lloyd nodded in understanding.

As the two conversed, Kai suddenly paused as he read one of his letters.

Dear Mr. Smith,

I know what you have done.

I know what you do.

I know you have stolen way my prey.

And I will make you pay.

Their souls will be mine, and now yours is to.

Signed, Your Demise.

Kai dropped the letter like it was on fire and looked up at his sister and his lover.

"This isn't over." Kai said, gaining their attention. "What do you mean?" Lloyd asked and Kai looked deadly serious.

"In fact, I think it's just begun."
