Scott and Jack, each holding Dawn by her arms, landed in the parking lot, right next to Dawn's Ford Escape. "Whoa!" Dawn cried. "Did we go through that wall?"

"No, dear," Scott said, "we went over it."

"Well, that was fast..." Dawn had to stop speaking in order to vomit.

"Oh, that's real pretty," Jack said, "but I guess moving at that kind of speed does that to mortals."

Dawn quickly regained her composure. "Jack, I don't know why you're helping us, but we can discuss that later. Right now, I need the keys to my car. Do you have them, Scott?"

"I have the keys in my pocket," Scott said.

"Yeah, that's great," Jack said as he pointed at the Escape's flat tires, "but we ain't going very far with tires like that. And yes, they've been cut."

"Not great timing, but I see a vehicle with intact tires right on the other side of the lot."

"Oh, no," Dawn moaned. "Dallas Pringle's van?"

"He has a vehicle, of sorts, and it has tires. We don't have the time to be choosy, Dawn!"

"Hell, I can even hot wire it, if need be," Jack offered.

"And of course you know how to hot wire a car."

"Guys," Dawn said, "maybe Dallas is sleeping in there. I don't think his radio program has a huge budget."

The three ran over to Dallas Pringle's dirty white van. Dawn knocked on the side sliding door. "Dallas!" She called out. "Dallas! Are you there?"

"God damn it," Pringle responded, "it's the middle of the night! I'm sleeping!"

"In violation of the county ordinance against camping?"

The side door flew open. "What do you want, Campbell? Why are you here in the middle of the night? And why are your husband and some strange handsome man with you?"

"Dallas, you're right."

"I know. Right about what?"

"Everything. Aliens, monsters, governmental coverups. All of it."

"Thanks for thinking so. Have you been drinking, Dawn?"

"Aw, screw this," Scott said, pushing his wife aside. "We are in huge trouble and we need your van. I'd say get out and let us take it, but right now, you're in just as much trouble as we are. So, you'll need to come with."

"I am? What kind of trouble are we in?"

"The deadly kind," Dawn said. "Look, we don't have time to explain, just let us in and start this thing."

"What if I don't want to?"

"Aw, shit," Jack snarled. "Let's just drain the prick and take the ride!"

"No, Jack," Scott said, "we aren't draining anyone. Dallas, we are all going to die if we don't leave right fucking now. Do you understand?"

"Gee, okay!" Dallas replied. "Hop in. Don't mind the mess, but don't touch anything, either! And Dawn?"

"Yes?"

"You owe me an exclusive! That includes everything you know about Bobby Starr and his organization—"

"Dallas," she growled, "get us the fuck out of here! Now!"
