I Need You

Rapunzel

A/N: Omg I'm so sorry I kept you waiting. Here's the story.
I just laid there. It couldn't be him. Could it? No. He was kidnapped and killed. But maybe he wasn't. I thought. I could tell no one about him. It pained me not to tell Jack. I told him everything, except that I had a twin brother. I was shaken. He looked like me with bright green eyes, the same face shape. The only difference is that he had black hair and I had blonde. I never knew him. I only know his name. Gavin. I heard stories about him when I came home. He was born with blonde hair like me, but something happened. My twin brother stole my baby brother. Gavin stole Eugene. Did he even notice that he looked like me? I was sitting there in shock. I had a cold towel on my head. Did anyone notice we looked alike? I hope not. Sandy was eyeing me suspiciously. Crap! He knows. I sat up.
"Tooth, can you grab me something cold to eat please?" I ask politely, she nodded and flew off. Bunny and North were already searching the globe in the other room. I turned to face Sandman.
"Please don't tell anyone." I plead. A question mark appeared over his head.
"If anyone notices they'll know, and if they know, his controller will kill him." I explain tears coming to my eyes. A thumbs up formed of sand formed.
"You won't tell anyone?" I ask. He did an action that looked like he zipped up his lips. I smile. I hugged him. I heard Tooth coming and I quickly moved back to my original spot. She handed me a tub of ice cream.
"This was all I could find. Do you eat ice cream?"
"I love ice cream!" I say laughing. She laughed. As I ate my ice cream, I thought about the first time I saw him.
Flashback
I was walking around the park, I was depressed because I believed Jack was dead. I wasn't looking were I was going and bumped right into Gavin. He helped me up. That's when we both realized who each other were. He was my long lost twin and I was his. His eyes widened and his smile faded.
"You can't tell anyone you've seen me! My controller will kill me and then come for you! We never saw each other, and we don't know each other." He said in a hushed tone. I nodded and hugged him. He hugged me back.
"I hope we meet again." I whisper in his ear.
"Me too." He whispered back. He kissed my cheek and ran away. I was left thee stunned and even more heartbroken. I decided at that time I would see my other brother.
Flashback Over
Once I was full, I put the ice cream back in the freezer. I ran back out after hearing a thud and my baby brother laughing. Jack stood there holding Eugene. Someone was tied up and was on the floor by his feet.
"Gavin!" I scream running toward him. His eyes widened in fear. Mine did too. I ran grabbed a kitchen knife, and ran back. I kneeled down and cut him loose. He got out of the ropes and stood up. I hugged him tears running down my face. He hugged me back. He didn't let go. I let go of my brother when I heard Jack clear his throat.
"What's going on here? Do you know this villain?" He asked in a cold tone. I winced I forgot there was other people here. When Gavin realized it too, he winced as well. I looked back at Jack tears welling in the corners of his eyes.
"Are you two, dating?" He asked sounding utterly heartbroken. I looked at Gavin. He nodded, sensing how much I loved Jack.
"Jack, we aren't dating. He's my twin. We were spilt up. I was taken by Mother Gothel, and when I came back, I found out that he was kidnapped too. We met a while ago, in the park, but I couldn't tell you because if I told anyone he would be, killed." I paused at the end, again realizing what I have done.
"Who took you?" I ask Gavin, in a hushed tone. Before he could answer a voice boomed through the room.
"I did." Pitch snarled.
"Pitch." I gasped.
"Yes you urchin, and now that everyone knows, I have to kill my," he paused, "dark angel." He said. Gavin recoiled as soon as he heard that name. I ran over to him. I stood by him.
"Oh, and I almost forgot, I also have to kill the light, the flower, poor Rapunzel." He sneered. I backed up. Pitch appeared.
"Eugene!" I scream to Jack. He luckily quickly responded. He ran over to where my brother was standing and guarded him.
"Gavin, lemme make you a little deal. Come with me and I will spare your life, and kill the girl. Refuse and I will kill you and spare the girl. Either way I only kill one of you." He snickered. I looked at Gavin.
"Go with him." I say, my voice cracking.
"No. I would rather die, then live with the guilt that I let my 'master' kill my only sister." He said. He stepped forward.
"I will never bow to your will again! I will not go with you!" He shouted at Pitch. Pitch looked taken aback. He quickly recovered.
"Fine. But let's make this interesting. You and me battle. If you defeat me. I will let you go, if not." The 'if not' was clear that if not Gavin would die. I tried to step forward, but Gavin spread out his arm.
"Let me fight. I have a few powers too." He winked. I stepped back, nervous. I could only watch the fight now. Pitch summoned a army of nightmare and soon Gavin was surrounded. He soon started to sing.
The moon on the one hand, the dawn on the other:
The moon is my sister, the dawn is my brother.
The moon on my left and the dawn on my right.
My brother, good morning: my sister, good night.
I recognized that poem, it was my favorite poem. It's called, The Early Morning, by, Hilaire Belloc. Singing the poem seemed to activate a secret power. I watch as my brother was engulf in sand. Although, it wasn't gold, nor black like the good vs. bad dream sand. It was pure white. He shot it at Pitch, who was soon engulfed in the white sand. He smiled at me. I noticed that the nightmares hadn't stopped advancing.
"Gav-" I was interrupted by the sound of Eugene laughing. I saw him run up laughing, to where Gavin was fighting. He touched the nightmare.
"Eugene n-" I was agin cut off. The nightmare turned into a dinosaur made of gold sand. Eugene turned the nightmare into something he loves. When all of the nightmares had been turned into dreams, the sand returned to Sandy. I breathed a sigh of relief. Eugene came running to me. I picked him up and laughed. Gavin's knees gave out and he fell to the ground.
"Gavin!" I exclaim running over to him. He looked up at me and smiled.
"I thought I was going to lose you again." He said sighing. I smiled and hugged him.
"Umm Rapunzel, is he, umm your child?" He asked nervously. I shook my head laughing at his cluelessness.
"He's our brother, Eugene. He looks just like dad." I said still chuckling. He smiled.
"Hey bud. I'm your big bro." He said. Eugene smiled and laughed. He leaped out of my arms and hugged Gavin. I smiled enjoying the sight. I slowly backed away and walked toward Jack. He looked at me concerned.
"What just happened?" Is he really your brother." He asked concerned. I nodded and laughed.
"I'm sorry I couldn't tell you before, up until a couple of days ago, I thought he was dead. I'm just glad to have both of you in my life again." I sigh. I pecked Jack on the lips and ran off to Tooth. He stood there watching Gavin closely. I shrugged it off.
"Tooth! Can we move the sleepover here? And have it tomorrow?" I ask. She nodded and smiled.
"I'm assuming you want the night to catch up with your brother?" She said. I nodded laughing. I have a brother! I have an older brother! A brother who will protect me and care for me! I thought. I looked at the time. It was midnight. Time flys when your fighting fear! I walked over to Jack. He seemed mad. He just got done talking to North.
"If I give Gavin my room temporarily, can I sleep in yours?" I ask, blushing a little.
"I don't think that would be best." He said. My smile faded. I looked at him confused.
"What do you mean? Jack, are you okay?" I reached up and felt his forehead. It was cold as usual. My hand fell to his cheek. He reached up and pushed my hand down.
"I'm fine, I just don't believe that you two are siblings." He said. He was glaring at my brother who was rocking Eugene to sleep.
"I don't understand." I say utterly confused. He looked at me in a mean way.
"What's not to get Rapunzel? I don't believe you and Gavin! I believe you're lying to me! Until I find out the truth I don't want to date you!" He yelled. Tears welled in my eyes and started falling. He looked like he regretted the words he said.
"Punz, I don't know wh-" He started.
"It's fine! You made your choice, now I'm making mine! I thought you loved me! I loved you! And you're throwing it all away! For what? Because you think he's not my twin! Hate to break it to you he is!" I yell running to my room. Tears were falling down me and Jack's faces. I collapsed on my bed and cried. I sobbed until there were no tears left. Then I noticed that Gavin had come in. He held Eugene who was passed out. He put Eugene on the lounge chair in my room and walked over to me. He's at on the edge of my bed. I sat up and hugged him. He hugged me. He kissed my forehead. When I felt better I started to explain our family and royal position. It was three in the morning I soon fell asleep on my bed. Gavin slept on the floor in a sleeping bag. Before I drifted off, I whispered to Gavin.
"I love you." I whisper.
"I love you too." He said back with a smile.
