I Need You

Jack

I feel bad about leaving you on a cliffhanger... Oh well. Here goes nothing.

I can't believe she was just stabbed! My Punzie! I broke out of my chains and went after Mother Gothel. I had her pinned against the wall with my forearm on her throat.
"I won't kill you, you deserve to rot in prison for the rest of your life." She tried to raise her arm to stab me too, but I knocked the blade away.
"Don't even try it." I froze her to the wall and tended to Rapunzel. She was as pale as a ghost and her purple blouse was already soaked in blood. I put my head to her chest holding my breath. I was so relieved tears started falling from my eyes as I heard her heart beat. Suddenly the door burst open. Her parents came rushing in. They took in the scene and started working immediately. I was pushed to the side. I kept wanting to get closer to her but kept getting held back.
"Punzie." I whisper. I eventually sat down and waited for a sign. I heard a faint cough, and groaning. I ran over to her. This time no one held me back. I sat next to her head, her eyes were still closed but she was starting to stir. The medics had wrapped her side and stitched it up. They had to wait until she woke up to give her the pain medication, but even in her sleep she was wincing. I'm not one to cry but when I saw her lying there, on the brink of death, it caused me to shed tears. She started talking in her sleep. Even unconscious she was beautiful. Even though she was pale and looked weak, she always had a certain glow around her.
"Jack! Jack." She whispers in her sleep, she started freaking out. I grabbed her limp hand.
"Punz? Punzie! It's me Jack. I'm still alive. You need to wake up to see me. Mother Gothel will never get you again. If you wake up you can see me again. We will live happily ever after." She calmed down at the sound of my voice. Her eyes fluttered and I held my breath. Her bright green eyes were visible again. She coughed and sat up gasping for breath. She winced in pain as soon as she sat up and almost fainted but I caught her and she opened her eyes again. I had the medics give me the pain medicine and I coaxed Rapunzel into taking it. Once the medicine started working, she smiled.
"There's that beautiful smile!" I exclaim lucky to see her smile again. Rapunzel yawned.
"Let's get you home Punzie. Where do you want her?" I say turning to her parents. Her mother walked toward Punz and kissed her forehead.
"I believe that you will take good care of her. Bring her to her apartment." She said with a smile. I nodded and gave her mom a hug and her dad a handshake which quickly turned into a hug. I picked up Rapunzel and carried her out the door. When I was out of sight I flew home with my, almost, girlfriend in my arms. I lived alone, well kind of, I have one other roommate, Hiccup, but he was away on a trip back home with his girlfriend, Merida, to train dragons or something, I wasn't really listening, when he was explaining his trip. I sat Punz down on my bed while I got new sheets for my roommates bed. Once I did that I picked up sleeping Rapunzel, and put her on the newly made bed. After sitting her down I got a glass of water and an ice pack and walked back over to her. I carefully wrapped the ice pack and set it on her stitches. I also set the water glass on the bedside table next to her. Once I realized that she wasn't going to wake up anytime soon I turned on the tv.

I finished watching her favorite movie The Princess Bride when I heard her voice.
"Watching my favorite movie without me? Wow, some boyfriend." She said with a smile. I smiled back.
"I will put it on again if you want." I offer.
"No that's alright, I am hungry though." She said. I got up and grabbed her unfinished ice cream carton. I grabbed a spoon and walked back out to her. I handed her the ice cream and the spoon and she started eating it. I called up her parents.
"Hey this is Jack Frost. I am just calling to tell you that Rapunzel is awake and currently eating her favorite ice cream. I hope it's okay that I fed her ice cream, instead of real food." I say nervous. Her mother replied.
"That's perfectly fine, let her eat whatever she wants, as long as she is eating." She sounded extremely relieved. I was personally glad that the cut wasn't as deep as I thought. I walked back to find her deep in her movie and eating her ice cream. The water glass was empty. I went to go refill the glass and I came back and Rapunzel was holding her stomach and moaning. I dropped the glass and ran over.
"Punz! What's wrong?" I said surprised.
"Nothing it's fine just sore." She said wincing.
"Can I take a look at your stitches?" I asked concerned. She nodded and lifted her shirt to show me the stitches. I breathed a sigh of relief. Her stitches looked fine.
"You're okay, probably are just sore from the whole experience." My voice trailed off. She nodded and started to fall asleep. I sat on the side of her bed and kissed her forehead. Somebody started knocking on the door. I got up and opened it to find panicked Ariel and Jasmine. I pressed a finger to my lip to signify them to be quiet. They beckoned for me to walk outside the doorway, I grabbed my key and slowly and quietly shut it behind me. They started talking all at once.
"Woah one question at a time." I say.
"What happened to her?" Ariel basically yelled. I was shocked. She was the quietest one in the group.
"Um well she got stabbed by Mother Gothel and she's in here sleeping and getting better." I say rubbing the back of my neck. I tend to do that when I am nervous and embarrassed.
"What!" They yelled at the same time.
"Shhh!" I said opening the door to find a sleeping Rapunzel.
"Whew. Let me tell you the whole story." I explained the story and was interrupted by Rapunzel calling my name. I ran inside to see her curled up in a fetal position.
"Punz what's wrong?" I say worried. She shook her head.
"It's nothing. Probably just sore." She said wincing. Just then she leaned over and threw up the medicine and ice cream.
"Punzie! We have to get you to a doctor now!" She was passed out. I picked her up and threw open my door and ran outside, leaving confused Ariel and Jasmine in the dust.
"Meet us at the hospital!" I scream back at them. They nodded and ran the other way to their apartment to grab car keys. I flew her to the hospital as fast as the winds could take me. Once I got there, around ten o'clock at night, she was immediately put into a room since she was part of a royal bloodline. I was pushed back when I was walking next to her rolling bed to her room.
"I am sorry sir, but you can't go with her." He said putting his arm against my chest. I glared at him and tried to run past him. I was on the brink of hysteria. He picked me up and I struggled in every way against him, trying to get out of his grip, only one thought ran through my mind. She needs me. I soon felt a pinch in my arm and turned to see a needle sticking out of it. My eyesight went fussy and my body went limp. Eventually I blacked out.
When I woke up I looked at the clock. Midnight. I freaked out. I realized where I was and became hysterical. I ran to Rapunzel's hospital room and threw open the door. All the doctors and nurses glared at me as I ran to see her. When I saw her my heart sank to the floor. She had all kinds of medical devices plugged into her. I walked over to her and when one of the doctors started telling me to leave I glared at him.
"If you knew what I have been through today, you wouldn't be asking me to leave. I've already lost somebody in my life I'm not losing her too." I yell. The doctor backed up. I grabbed Rapunzel's hand and started talking to her soothingly. Soon the door opened again, and a familiar security guard was standing in the doorway. I glared at him too. He walked toward me and picked me up by the legs and I started thrashing again.
"Rapunzel please wake up! Please! Do this one thing for me! Please!" I scream tears falling down my face, while being carried out of the room. She stirred.
"Stop! She's stirring! Put him down!" The doctor that questioned me exclaimed. I was thrown to the ground. There was a throbbing sensation in my left foot but I ran to her anyway.
"Punzie! Hey please wake up. I need to see your green eyes again. I need you in my life. I can't lose you too."
