I closed my eyes and braced for the impact. It never came. I slowly opened my eyes and turned to see what had happened. I saw Jack smiling at me, holding me bridal style. I saw tears welling in the corner of his eyes. I burst into tears. He put me down and hugged me. I cried into his shirt. When I was done heavily sobbing, I looked at his face tears ran down his face too, but he mustered up a smile.
"I thought you were dead." I whisper hugging him again. He shook his head and explained the whole story. Once he finished he kissed me.
"It was so hard to live without you, even for a couple of weeks. Don't think I will ever leave you again." He said. We sat by our tree. His arms were around me, and my head was on his chest. Everything was perfect. We sat there for a while, just enjoying each others company. Then I heard Jasmine and Ariel calling for me. I got up hugged Jack and ran over to them. I smiled and they dive bombed me with questions. My smile faded.
"Where have you been?" Jasmine asked the final question.
"I'm not a child and I don't have to answer that!" I yell. I was furious. I was the same age as them, yet they treat me like a child! I'm sick of it!
"Yes you do! Answer my question."
"I was with Jack! There you happy?" I scream back at her. They both looked confused.
"Yeah, you heard me right I was with Jack! He's alive! You should've noticed my happiness, but no! You were to busy asking me questions! I'm tired of being treated like a child! I'm 21 years old! It's like I'm living with mother Gothel again!" I scream. Jack at this point had been coming up to me. I ran to him he hugged me.
"What's wrong?" He asked. I said nothing. I was so upset I couldn't speak. I felt an anxiety attack coming from mentioning mother Gothel. I just hugged Jack, and because he knew he just kept reassuring me he was here and that nothing would happen. I nodded every time he spoke and eventually I could move again. I could talk, and the attack faded. We walked to his apartment. When I opened the door Hiccup and Merida just laid there staring at the ceiling. I cleared my throat, hoping they would look at me. Nothing.
"Well I see nobody wants to say hi." Jack said with a smirk. Their eyes widened and they both ran up and hugged him. Merida had tears rolling down her face and the two boys were being boys, chest bumping and talking about guy stuff. They eventually hugged again. Once everyone had their temporary freak out, I held Jack's hand as he guided me to his closet. He pulled out a beautiful dress that seemed to be made out of ice. I gasped.
"Jack, It's beautiful!" I say feeling the fabric. He blushed.
"You think so?" He asked rubbing the back of his neck.
"I know so." I exclaim, running to the bathroom to try it on. I came out and twirled in front of Jack. He smiled at me. I smiled back. I hugged him. He kissed my forehead.
"Thank you so much Jack! I love it." I say smiling. We were still hugging.
"Anything for my princess." He said. We walked hand in hand to show Merida and Hiccup my new dress. Hiccup was smirking at Jack and I ran to Merida.
"Isn't it gorgeous?" I ask Merida smiling. It felt good to smile again.
"It's is! You look hot!" She said. I blushed. I turned to face Jack who was looking at me, and smiling. My phone rang. I looked at my phone to see Jasmine's name light up. I rolled my eyes and ignored it. My phone rang again. I answered it without looking at the number.
"Stop trying to call me! I don't want to talk to you!" I shout.
"We have your brother." The man's voice said. My face went pale.
"What?"
"We have your brother. Meet me outside if you want him to live."
"Wh-who are you? How do you know about him?" I ask. My worst fears were coming true. All eyes were on me. I was starting to breathe heavier.
"Shut up, and meet us outside or Eugene gets it!" The voice yelled. The line went dead. I dropped my phone. Jack ran over to me.
"Who was that Punz?" He asked moving me to a seat.
"The-they have Eugene." I say to him. His face drained of color. Jacks the only person who knew about my baby brother, him and of course my parents. Eugene is five years old and is very attached to me.
Flashback
When Jack was 'dead' I visited my brother and my parents. My parents tried to cheer me up, but failed. The only thing that made me smile during that time, was my baby brother, trying to cheer me up. He ran to his room when I was crying in mine, and grabbed his candy bar. He put it on my bed, and I gave him a halfhearted smile. That wasn't good enough for him. He grabbed a pair of scissors and ran outside to get me some flowers. He tied them with a shoelace and gave them to me with a smile. This was the one time I smiled. A true smile. I hugged him. He seemed proud that he made me smile. I couldn't let anything happen to my beautiful brother.
Flashback over.
I visit him as often as possible. He has bright green eyes like me, and brown hair like my dad. I already know that he is going to grow up to be king, and that doesn't phase me. He's gonna grow up to look like dad, but if I don't react quick he might not get the chance to grow up. This thought jerked me to reality. Tears slipped down my face as I ran outside. Jack tried to stop me.
"I can't let anything happen to him, I need you to be by the entrance in case he needs to run." I say tears falling faster. He nodded and let go of my arm.
"Merida and Hiccup please find my parents and bring them here." I tell them. Merida nodded. Me and Jack ran to the entrance to the building. He stopped when I ran out. I saw a dark figure on the side of the building. He was holding my brother and had his hand over my brothers mouth. He looked scared and became panicked when he saw me.
"I'm here! Let him go!" I yell confidently. He dropped Eugene. Eugene ran to me and hugged my legs. I bent down and hugged him. I looked at the dark figure.
"What do you want?" I ask. Still holding my brother. I picked him up and held him close to me. He buried his face in my dress fabric. Surprisingly the ice dress wasn't cold. The dark figure moved closer. I quickly put my brother on the ground.
"Go inside and find Jack." I whisper. He nodded and ran inside.
"I see Jack made you a pretty dress." The man said with a snarl.
"How did you-" I started.
"Oh Rapunzel, I know everything about you. Your favorite pastimes, your family, and," he paused, "your fears."Jack ran out.
"Punz no! It's Pitch!" He screams as I turn toward him. Pitch shoved a drugged cloth on my nose and mouth and I passed out. Before the blackness clouded in I heard Eugene scream.
