bestfriends. there is no 'to lovers'. only one of them is inlove, with the other. 

detail it. how A has always been there for B. then C came. it wasn't a big deal at first. tbh, they loathed each other. B would look at C badly that even A and C didnt know why. then, something happened. then theyre close. ofc A doesnt what happened but they know that something did. it was obvious. but B didnt tell them. thats weird. B tells them everything. but B's life doesnt revolve around A, it kinda makes sense. ... 

then B tells A that they like someone. that someone being C. ouch. ofc, A puts on a smile and says 'really? wow should i congratulate you?' in a playful tone making B laugh. 

they shouldnt be selfish. no. they couldnt control B's feelings. what they feel is what they feel. and A has to just deal w it.

-plot twist-

C likes D. B hates D. when B finds out that C likes D, they go to A. A asks B whats wrong and B tells them. 

A is a bit angered. they think that they were being the rebound. 

'wow- wow. i cant believe it. you leave me alone then scurry to C. but now that you know that you dont have a chance with them, you go back to me. for god's sake B. i've been here for you since the beginning. i've always been fucking inlove with you. but no. A is the second option yet again. yeah, im being selfish. because all my fucking life i've been giving. and when i actually want something, then i cant have it. *sigh* im tired of this.' 

then they walk away, B trying to stop them but A snaps saying 'Leave me alone! go to C or smth, i dont give a fuck'

and rest is history.
