"The world is full of monsters with friendly faces and Angles full of scars"~ unknown

Hawks and I decided that we wouldn't tell the press for a week or so to give us time to prepare and heal.
We've been training constantly for a couple days now. It was relatively the same everyday, wake up at the crack of dawn train until dark then relax and repeat. Once I found out Keigo was hurt I insisted that I could heal him. He refused saying I should save my energy but he eventually gave in.

My quirk was getting stronger I could form several weapons before getting tired. The healing process was a success all that's left of my burns are scars. I trace over the tightly healed tissue. Some good came from that fire having to consistently heal increased my quirk stamina a ton.

Keigo finally let me have a day off so I decided to visit the cafe and sketch a costume design. I ordered (favorite hot beverage) and sat down in a booth. The smell of coffee brewing indulged my sense. I thought back to my previous encounter here. His brilliant blue eyes were quite captivating and how his frame towered over my own. It dawned on me that I knew very little about this man and yet he seemed strangely familiar.

I tried focusing on the paper laying in  front of me. I scribbled the outline of the human body thinking what I wanted to incorporate. Maybe a Cape? Or flashy colors? What materials did I wanna use? Should there be a hood?

Only one question had a for sure answer, what kind of hero was I going to be? Anything Hawks needed. I was so caught up in my mind I hadn't noticed the person sitting in front of me.

He tapped on the paper,"What are you drawing?" I look up to meet those piercing blue eyes. I was so caught up in my own thoughts I hadn't heard him approach or noticed his presence.

"Umm just outfit design," I tuck the papers into my bag, it hadn't been released that Hawks was getting a partner so I can't say anything. I nervously took a sip of my drink. He kept looking at my wrist, he must have seen the scar. "Take a picture it will last longer," I say in a harsh tone. I'm not fond of the healing skin and I don't like others seeing it either.  He just looks at me his face and neck covered in a mask. His eyes held a sence of knowing to the venom in my voice.

"The last time you asked why I didnt come up to you and now you're spitting words at me. I'm hurt" he says pouting prominent in his voice.

I don't fall for his act staring at him blankly."So why are you here, found me interesting again."

"I guess that's one way to put it, but enough about me. I heard you were caught in a fire." He had grabbed my wrist pulling my sleeve back exposing my scars.

I gave him a look of disbelief. I ripped away from his grasp and pulled my sleeve down.

"How do you.. how do you know that" my voice shook slightly. It wasn't released to the public that I was in the fire. The agency wouldn't let anyone know I was there. I wasn't working with a hero license so we could get in trouble. I did go through the training I just didn't take the exam.

"I have my ways darling" I could hear the smirk playing on his lips. I tried to calm my nerves by taking a sip of the warm liquid in front of me. My hand shook thinking about the fire, the way my lungs burned from the smoke. The smell of my burning flesh and the crackling of the wood.

I snapped out of it to the sound of breaking glass. I had dropped my cup the shards all over the table and floor. The scolding liquid dripping onto my leg. I hurried to pick up the broken peices slicing my finger in the process.

"What the hell are you doing" he yelled at me. I ignored him focusing on the cut healing it with my quirk. The bleeding had stopped the moment my skin mended. He was staring at me, I quickly cleaned up the mess avoiding his gaze. I shouldn't have done that. Not here. Not with people around. Especially not with this mysterious man watching me. But I did, I healed it and he saw it.

I break away from his intense gaze when a waitress hurries over to clean up the mess. I apologize for breaking the cup and insiste for her to add it to my bill. I can't shake the overwhelming dread. My hands still shaking I grab my chair taking a seat. He seemed to be searching me for some clue as to why I reacted  in such a way. I just played with the hem of my sleeve trying not to make eye contact.

His next words surprised me. "I'm surprised a hero didnt get to you sooner" he seemed emotionless "those scars are quite sev-." I place a hand over his masked mouth. I could feel his hot breath through the cloth. He drug his hand from my elbow to my wrist. I could barely make out the mumbled words if you can't keep your hands off me you could have just said so. His fingertips lingered grazing my skin making me shiver.

"I'm surprised that bird of yours didnt fly to your rescue" his eyes burning with wild untamed emotions. I grabbed his hand dragging him out of the cafe stopping only to pay. Once we're safely away from anyone that could overhear I drop his hand pushing him against the wall. My muscles ache from the sudden and harsh action.

"What do you know about him" I state threateningly. His interest seems sparked by this he grabs my hips swinging them gently from side to side. I let out a small squeak.

"Oh my little Mouse if you only knew" he spins me around now his arms are around  me and my back is to the wall. He whispers "Why dont you ask that feathered friend of yours."

I can't exactly tell hawks I met this strange man at the coffee shop and he told me to question him. So in a split second reaction I decide to investigate. I lean to his ear "Next time we hang out you should pick were we go Mr tall dark and handsome" I pull away giving him a playful wink and blowing him a kiss.

He seems stunned for a moment then his lips form a devilish grin "So you don't hate my guts" I flick his forehead and walk away resisting the urge to look back.
