"Daddy!"
A four year old boy with bright blue eyes, pale skin but was tanned a little from being outside so much and short fluffy dark brown hair, ran up to a man holding a basket full of food and herbs from the market.
"Hey bud, you been playing outside while I was at the market?" The 22 year old man asked smiling at him as his son held onto his waist giggling. His hair was raven black and shaggy but ended around his shoulders as he kept half of it tied back with a few bits of front pieces hanging in his face and over a scar that covered half of his fare face.
"Yea I got grandpa to play for a little too and mama made us lunch!" The energetic boy bounced around his fathers feet.
"Did you finish helping your mother and grandfather?" The man knelt down to his son smiling as the boy had no shoes, that he preferred not to wear when he played outside, with baggy green pants that reached his small knees with a green and brown tank top.
"Mama said I could keep a look out for you," Koda explained and giggled wildly when he covered his mouth.
"Because she's right there!" The man turned around scooping up a woman sneaking up on him. He held the 20 year old bridal style as he held her easily while she screamed in laughter.
"Zuko!" She let out a loud laugh of surprise and Koda giggled at his parents as Zuko set down his love and she kissed his cheek and was set down.
"When the kid is looking behind me and giggling it kind of give you away," Zuko placed his hands on her lower back but slid his hands to her stomach. Katara smiled softly touching his hand over her popping swollen belly that carried their second child. To be due within the week.
"How's my love?" He whispered as Katara smiled gently running her fingers through her husbands hair as he rubbed her hands gently.
"I'm still thinking about some things but what do I know," Katara smiled touching the side of his face gently.
"Anyways I took my nap, but I'm basically a professional at this, look at Koda, he's fine and I didn't take that many naps," she huffed as Zuko laced their fingers together.
"Different circumstances kat," he smiled but heard a thump behind them.
Zuko looked at Koda as he was cartwheeling around laughing at himself. He did a handstand and fell in the grass laughing happily out of breath.
"I blame your hyper and active genetics..."
"You should though love, I want you to be healthy and the doctor said-" "Zuko," Katara smiled touching his face a little.
"You worry to much, we'll be fine this time, I'm following doctors orders," she giggled and he held her hand against his face as it touched his scar. It was comforting now.
"I can't help it," he whispered kissing her palm.
They owned a tea shop in a quiet and small town in the earth kingdom, reopened a tea shop called 'the lotus' for iroh as it was connected to his home above.
"Lee, Nia," iroh smiled at the two walking in, ever since they returned to the earth kingdoms land in the middle class, they of course had to change their names... Not so even those friends they saw as family could find them...
Katara and Zuko have been missing for six years... Claimed dead... but lee and nia started a life with lee's uncle who adopted him as a young age, Mushi.
"I got the herbs uncle, fresh from the market," zuko walked to his uncle while iroh picked up his great nephew as he wanted to help his great uncle. Zuko kissed Kataras cheek wrapping an arm around her waist as Koda hugged his great uncle around his neck giggling.
He was young so he didn't understand as much such as Iroh being his grandpa while Zuko still naturally called him uncle. But Iroh deserved to have a grand child as he's been like a father as he already saw Zuko as his own son.
"I can help you with the tea uncle," zuko walked over.
"I'm not helpless zuko, I can help," katara smirked as Iroh set Koda down and he ran up the stairs to wash up for dinner.
"Love I know, but you have a tendency of being an over achiever, as in working yourself to death," zuko placed a hand on her shoulder and iroh agreed walking away.
"Am not!" She gasped.
"Your pregnant, your not the master water bender nine months ago," zuko kissed her forehead as katara pouted.
"I kicked your ass when I was eight months pregnant," katara huffed and went to the kitchen as she stired the boiling water with a flick of her wrist.
"And having a in-law water bender is as useful as ever," iroh chuckled.
"Any idea for names yet?" He asked looking at Kataras belly.
Pakku," Katara smiled brightly with no hesitation.
"No,"
"He was helped us so much and challenged me, when I was younger, sexist pig but we fought and he made me a water bending master now," Both fire benders made a face not completely agreeing with the name.
"Pass," Zuko said again flatly.
"Ryuk?" She offered and he made a face.
"And if it's a girl?" Zuko raised an eye brow.
"I was thinking ursa," she smiled shyly at the two fire benders. Zukos soft smile felt a little as he was surprised at her choice.
"I love it kat but don't you think it's a little over board with both of our kids named after each of our parents?" he held her chin softly with a smile.
"It was my plan if Hakoda wasn't a boy," Katara teased.
"But... I do like the name dia..." she hummed looking at him.
"Well kat... what about the name izumi?" Zuko offered a little.
"Izumi..." Katara rubbed her stomach softly.
"What do you think babes?" Katara looked over at Koda as he sat on the counter next to Iroh.
"Izumi kinda sounds like Izzy, maybe she'll be a water bender like you mama!" Koda beamed brightly.
"Grandpa when am I going to be a bender?" He asked looking at Iroh confused.
"At your age you are about to figure it out, your father was six, I was a late bloomer, I was seven," Iroh smiled at him deviously.
"But I'm four and that takes forever!" Koda whined.
"If your a water bender you'll get it earlier, fire benders are slow pokes," Katara whispered in his ear and Koda giggled a little.
"I told you, you need your rest," Zuko touched her back softly and set a warm cup of tea for her.
"Yea, uh huh cause you've been pregnant before," she sipped the tea.
"I've dealt with you pregnant before, I think I handled it alright," Zuko smirked walking away and Katara laughed but Koda ran to the seat next to her.
"Washed up for dinner my little fire tiger?" Katara held his shoulders and blew air against his neck making him squirm and giggle.
"Okay!" He giggled blowing air back at her.
"Alright go ask your grandpa for some soup, careful it's hot," Katara told him as Koda jumped back down and ran to his great uncle and his father for dinner.
Katara smiled at her little family as it felt amazing that she was able to have this after everything, everything she thought she see peace again so many years ago. When she's proclaimed dead.
She was happy here... After all the trauma, she could still be happy and no longer felt so afraid for her life.
