"Mamaaaa," Koda peaked over the bed at Katara as she was on her side sleeping.

"Can I go play?" He whispered curiously.

"Mm where?" Katara asked barely awake.

Outside?" He asked.

"Backyard or grandpas?" She yawned a little, opening her eyes seeing his big blue ones staring at her inches away from her face.

"Grandpas," he smiled.

"Wait until an hour after sunrise fire tiger, let him wake up first," she told him.

"Theeen can I go in the backyard?" Koda asked.

LStay inside the fence, stay quiet, neighbors are sleeping," she patted her sons head and koda gasped happily and ran out of the room of his parents bed and sisters crib.

"Uncles probably awake," Zuko rolled over with his arm wrapped around her.

"He's fine in the backyard," Katara yawned again as she reached for his warm body.

——

Koda played with his toy turtle duck his father got him for his birthday as he made little quack sounds. He ran around the backyard but paused looking at the sun.

"Papas awake," he assumed and left the toy in his backyard so he wouldn't loose it.

Koda ran out of the backyard excited for the day as he knew where to go, it was down the street even if his house was the farthest.

Koda hummed a little to himself as he slowed down before he stepped on sharp rocks again, he didn't want to make his mama upset and heal his owie again. She's still sleeping.

Koda looked around seeing the sun was rising, but close to him he saw some kind of monkey cat.

"Kitty?" His jaw dropped with wide eyes.

It chirped at him. Cocking it's head to the side.

"Kitty!" Koda squealed doing a small foot dance before chasing after the flying lemur that ran off.

"Please come back! I have toys!" Koda called running as fast as he could after the animal.

"Papa can make you snacks!" He whined running out of breath and slowing down.

"Mean flying Kitty," Koda wheeze a little as the lemur flew away.

"Looks soft..." he pouted a little with a small stomp.

Koda looked back seeing how far he ran from the village but looked the other way seeing he knew the bush at the forest.

"The swimming pond!" Koda gasped remembering.

He walked around in the open space with dry grass under his bare feet while humming a tune that was stuck in his head.

"Leafs from the vine, falling so slow," he sang happily as he walked in a straight line with his arms up. He hummed the parts he didn't know, remembering what his father sang to him at night.

Koda heard a familiar chirp and saw the lemur again.

"Kitty..." he looked at it with all his attention on the furry creature.

"Papa can make us breakfast, do you like berries? He makes good berries," Koda knelt down to the animal as he let it come to him instead, a different tactic. It perked up at the sound of berries.

"Come on! I'm sure he'll have an extra tea cup for you too," Koda beamed brightly as he went to go back to the tea shop but gasped seeing the earth benders at their own camp.
