Once upon a time, in a faraway land as thus tell you the story of Ever After High. A high school for the teenage sons and daughters of the most famous fairytale characters who ever lived. For this year is the final year for some of our students and a big decision must be made...

Kyle started scratching his head, feeling confused.

Come along as our tale follows a certain human from the land of the readers.

"Wait a spell..."

For his decisions can impact everything that we've ever known...

Kyle clenched his fist, thrusting it upward as he pointed into the air.

"Are you trying to narrate my tale?!"

I'm surprised that you can even hear me.

"I'm from the Land of the Readers, remember? You said it yourself!" said Kyle.

Of course I remember, all I'm doing is just fulfilling my destiny as a narrator.

"Please don't, at least not my tale, I can handle that on my own thank you very much. Besides, I'd say I think I did a very good job on the last book, don't ya think, narrator?"

The narrator let out a huge sigh.

Whatever you say Kyle...

'Today was the first day of my last year in high school and I'd say I was quite hexcited. What new things will lie ahead for our hero? Only one way to find out, taking it one day at a time!'

"Kyle pay attention!"

The teacher adjusts the book in her hand.

"Ooh looks like the Loner Kid just got called out. Hopefully he doesn't get in trouble with his parents. Oh wait! Why would they care? They're dead!"

The pencil in Kyle's hand snapped. "What is your problem, asshole?!"

Cartman snaps his fingers at him.

"What? It's not my fault you can't pay attention," sassed Cartman.

A small snicker came from behind.

"Yeah! Pay attention, Loner!" A random kid in the background joined in.

'Don't listen to him, he's just trying to get you to lose it.'

"Hey knock it off, Cartman!" Stan came to Kyle's defense.

'If I lose it, then I would be letting her down...'

"Yeah, you and I both know you're destined to be alone. It's only a matter of time until your princess leaves you for dead."

Kyle grabbed his book, thrusting it into Cartman's face.

"Don't you dare bring her into this."

As the bell rang for dismissal, Kyle sprang from his seat, rushing out the door ahead of everyone else. Navigating through the crowded hallways, he found Bebe and Wendy at their lockers.

"Hey Kyle! Tell Apple we said hi!" giggled Bebe.

Kyle gave a slight nod and wave as he entered his dorm, ensuring the door was securely locked behind him. He surveyed what used to be her side of the room; everything was just as she had left it before their first trip to Ever After. The red curtains were half-drawn, revealing the disarray of her bed, with the fuzzy pink blanket crumbled, pillows scattered, and the notebook she'd stumbled over resting on top of the bedspread.

He retrieved the booking glass from his bag, his fingers gliding over the mirror's surface to activate it. Aiming the mirror forward, a portal burst forth. Kyle gazed into the portal's reflection, then extended an arm into the icy coolness. With a deep breath, he stepped one foot forward, ready to leap through when an unexpected knock at the door startled him. In a surge of paranoia, he swiftly deactivated the Booking Glass and hid it behind his back.
