"So, what do you think?"
The squeals that escaped her berry-colored lips were more than Apple had anticipated, especially coming from her.
"He's going to ask you to the Thronecoming dance!" exclaimed Raven, leaping off her bed.
'Kyle wants me to be his date?' thought Apple, her cheeks turning a rosy hue.
The thought made the princess's heart flutter with excitement. It was Thronecoming, and everyone was bound to have a blast. With this being their final Thronecoming dance, Apple was certain everyone would want to make it the best night forever after.
"Should I dress up if he asks me to the dance? Maybe bring a basket of goodies? Kyle does love his snacks," Apple mused aloud.
She hurried to her closet, tossing her best casual looking clothes while in search of her picnic basket.
"Don't worry, Apple. There's no need to panic. Just be yourself," Raven said, laughing softly.
'Right, be myself... wait...'
"Which one? The princess version here at school or my everyday out in public version?"
Raven paused, her gaze lingering on Apple for a moment before she parted her lips.
"The version that is true to your heart."
'Raven... where would I be without you.'
The alarm on her phone started ringing. She picked it up and saw that the clock had just struck eleven.
"Oh no, I'm not going to have enough time to get ready!" Apple panicked, the urge to cry welling up inside her.
"Now, now, there's no need for the waterworks. I may not be a fairy godmother, but luckily for you, this sorceress knows how to use her magic."
Raven waved her arms in the air, her hands radiating magic as she aimed them in Apple's view.
"Enchanted night so beautiful and bright, make this girl a beauty in sight."
Enveloped in a thick cloud of smoke that obscured her vision, Apple was suddenly encircled by the glimmers of Raven's enchantment. If Raven refuses to be the next Evil Queen, perhaps she ought to consider a part time job as a fairy godmother instead.
"Wow... Kyle is going be blown away the moment he sees you. I did a spelltacular job if I may add," Raven gloated.
Apple leaps onto her, giving her a huge thank you hug.
"Raven you're the best!"

'Alright, just come out and say it... Pretend she's right there in front of you.'
"Apple..."
'No wait, should I make her feel more special?'
The Elf King takes a knee.
"My princess..."
He springs up, red-faced from the sudden embarrassment.
'Ugh that seems way too formal... Just relax Kyle, there's no need to freak out.'
Kyle spotted some fireflies twinkling in the distance. His eyes emitted a soft pale blue glow, summoning the wind to gently coax them nearer. The surrounding flowers, in full bloom, were a sight to behold. He plucked a few from the earth, shrubs, and trees, sprinkling their petals across the ground. With a handful of flowers remaining, Kyle arranged them into a bouquet. He was determined to create a scene as magical as the ones described in the Storybook of Legends.

"Get this, I was dancing as graceful as ever when suddenly, a rat popped onto my stage! It's like ever since that whole incident, I see a rat everywhere I go!"
Duchess was mid-complaint on the phone when a blur outside her window caught her attention. Glancing out, she spotted Apple, all dressed up and dashing toward the Enchanted Forest. With only minutes to spare before the stroke of midnight and the curfew's onset, Duchess couldn't help but wonder—what was Apple up to?
"Hey, I'm going to have to call you back Faybelle. Something came up."
