In her embrace, Kyle felt as if he was dissolving. He was certain that nothing could ever separate them. She cherished him for who he was, embracing all his flaws, both new and old.

Without her, Kyle couldn't imagine where he'd be. Had she not entered his life, he was convinced he would have given up on everything. He would have given up on himself, on life, oblivious to the fact that his friends still valued him.

'There was no reason to be living like a lifeless zombie. That I wasn't destined to be alone. That there was one more starlight still out there. Just for me.'

The apple of my eye.

My Apple.

"I love you too Kyle, so very much."

The pair clung to each other, reluctant to part. Just as they were about to share a tender kiss, an unexpected knock interrupted them.

"We brought apple pie!" Kenny announced with excitement.

"And the headmaster too..." Stan added with a sigh.

Headmaster Grimm gave a dismissive glance at the young knight while straightening his ascot.

"What brings you here, Headmaster?" asked Kyle, breaking away from his hug with Apple but not letting go of her hand.

"I heard you took it upon yourself to protect our future queen from that little disaster at the dance," he acknowledged.

Kyle nodded, his confusion evident.

"And that you managed to rescue her from a pack of wolves," he added further.

Turning to his friends, Kyle found them all shaking their heads and shrugging, just as puzzled.

"I want to express my gratitude to you, Mr. Broflovski. It appears you were the only person who came to her rescue," said the headmaster as he headed for the exit. "I may have misjudged you. If you really are bold, heroic, and selfless, perhaps you are indeed her destined prince charming after all."

With those words, he exited the room. As soon as it was safe, Cartman forcefully closed the door.

"Okay, spill it—who blabbed about the wolves?" Kenny shattered the quiet.

Without hesitation, Daring raised his hand.

'After all that talk about me being a brother to Daring. He still had the audacity to betray me like that?'

"I only told him about the wolves, nothing else. I wanted my little brother to look good and thought that would be the perfect opportunity," Daring admitted defeat.

A smile of relief spread across Kyle's face. Stan placed the pie down next to his bedside.

"We're going to get going. If you need anything call us, okay?" said Daring.

Everyone hurried out, leaving Kyle alone with his princess.

Or so he thought.

"Hey Ky, looking good in those pajamas there. They give you a huskier look rather than a stocky one."

A boot whizzed by Daring's head, narrowly missing him by a hair.

"Daring, get out now!" Kyle demanded, pointing with evident irritation.

Daring responded with a cheeky double thumbs-up and a wink before making his exit from the room.

'Daring you truly are an idiot...' muttered Kyle to himself.

With everyone gone, Kyle turned his attention to the one person who mattered most to him.

"Now where were we?" he teased, twirling the princess into his embrace.

Apple looped her arms around Kyle's neck, drawing closer for their kiss. But as he puckered up, something seemed a little off. A wave of relaxation washed over him, too intense to be normal. Opening his eyes, he found Apple gently rubbing his ears as though he were a pet.

"H-hey!" he protested, caught off guard.

"I can't help it, it's just so adorable!" She giggled.

"S-shut up!"

Apple was giggling that cute little laugh of hers. Kyle couldn't stay mad at her, especially with a smile like that.

"I love you, Kyle."

It was a smile that he wanted to protect.

"I love you too Apple."

To cherish forever after.

And so, our hero and his princess lived happily ever after.... for this end is far from over.

AN:

Phew, and I thought the last book was pretty long. Again, poor Kyle, why must I torture you so much? First you lose your family and now your anger problems have gotten out of control. All I can think of while I'm writing is to give this poor boy therapy. Just hang in there, you'll see the ending to your story soon enough.

With that said, I just wanted to say thank you so much for the love and support I've gotten from every single one of you that has read this little book series. It blows my mind that someone would actually want to read a story that I've written for fun, and I am truly grateful for that. I can't believe I'm about to start on the last book, I can't wait!

Maybe I should do a few little side stories while I plan the last book?

Just a thought :)

Charm ya later!
