"Yo, heads up!"
A loud voice captured the future Elven King's attention, but it was already too late. Before he knew it, he was on the ground, watching his horse trot away. Clutching his head, Kyle tossed his helmet aside. The suit of armor weighed heavily on him, leading him to wonder how the others at Ever After managed to wear it for an entire class period.
"You need to look out. What kind of future king are you if you can't even dodge a simple obstacle?"
The prince with the charming smile held his hand out.
"Encouraging words, Daring..." muttered Kyle, taking his hand.
Daring delivered what was meant to be a gentle pat on Kyle's back, but it felt more like a smack. Kyle wouldn't be surprised if Daring was unaware of his own strength, being one of the top athletes at Ever After High. Daring had it all: the epitome of a perfect Prince Charming. Kyle, however, was another story...
"Hey roomie?"
Kyle turned slightly toward him. Daring was leaning against a nearby tree, arms crossed, his expression showing a flicker of concern.
"You're the one who rescued Apple, right?"
Shit!
'What should I do? I must keep our secret relationship under wraps. If it gets out, Apple could face serious consequences,' Kyle panicked internally.
"Silent treatment, huh? It's all good," Daring chuckled.
'Sweet relief, for a second I thought-'
"I just hope you two know what you are doing."
Daring lifted his head, his deep royal blue eyes meeting Kyle's gaze. They were cold, seemingly capable of freezing the red-headed boy in his tracks. The Charming prince rose from his resting spot beneath the tree and walked past Kyle without so much as a glance his way.
"Your secret is safe with me."
He paused momentarily yet continued on without looking back at Kyle.
"Although I'd think long and hard about what you're doing. Apple doesn't have the most reasonable mother."

Apple would always forget the best feeling of jumping into bed after a long, hard day. With so much that has happened today, a good shower and getting ready for bed is all this princess needed to feel at ease.
A loud buzz echoed next to her bed. Apple quickly grabbed her MirrorPhone from the nightstand.
"Hello?" said Apple.
A familiar tone brought a huge smile on her face.
"Once upon a hi, Kyle! How was your first day?" greeted Apple.
Hearing his soothing voice made her wish that she could hold him again.
"I know this is asking a lot, but do you think we could meet up somewhere? Like right now?" Kyle's question echoed from Apple's phone speaker.
Apple nods her head.
"Sure, I'll head right over. Where do you want me to meet you?" asked Apple.
She snatched her pink cardigan from the edge of the bed as a pebble gently tapped her windowsill. Apple leaned over to see Kyle, donning his jacket on top of his beloved childhood Terrance and Phillip TV show pajamas. His red curls tumbled freely, his usual hat absent, and sandals strapped over his socks.
Eager to avoid being caught sneaking through the halls by Professor Mama Bear, Apple vaulted out the window, targeting the nearby beanstalk. Her eyes shot open in terror, her heart pounding fiercely as she realized... she had just made a grave mistake...
