'Meet me at midnight. You know where.'

Apple was extremely nervous, her heart pounding as each beat felt heavier than the one before.

'What if this was a big misunderstanding and Kyle just wanted to meet up?' thoughts kept overloading her mind.

Whenever the couple spent time together this late, they'd typically slip out in their pajamas, preferring comfort over glamour. They'd lounge on the grass, share stories of their day, and enjoy a small midnight picnic. As the night drew to a close, they'd cuddle together under the starlit sky. If that were to happen, Apple would certainly have a fun time explaining herself.

The moon's bright beams pierced the fog, breathing life into the Enchanted Forest. Surrounded by blooming flowers and dancing petals, with fireflies weaving through the air, it was clear the enchanted full moon was drawing near.

As the fog cleared, a mysterious figure emerged in the moonlight, extending a hand to Apple, who paused before accepting it. Bathed in the lunar glow, the figure's regal red tunic with golden accents shone, and a crown of forest twigs, and leaves, sat upon his head. His eyes, a radiant emerald, captivated Apple, compelling her to reach out, yet she hesitated, needing to be certain.

"Kyle...?"

Her ocean eyes sparkled under the moon's glow, her hair cascading in loose curls, crowned with snow-white roses. The snug white dress she donned shimmered in a tube top style, shoulder-less, with a puffed bottom that mimicked a long skirt, ending just above her knees. As the wind gathered strength, it whispered through her hair, sending tree petals dancing around her. Extending her hand, she displayed the golden bracelet, a gift from the Elven King.

"You look beautiful, starlight."

As soon as the shadow spoke, Apple knew it was Kyle and took his hand without hesitation.

Standing there, her Darkstar exuded a handsome charm that was both wondrous and mysterious in the moonlight, making him almost unrecognizable to Apple. She wondered if this might be his true nature revealing itself. It was hard for her to believe that Kyle could be even more charming than he already was.

"And you look dashing, my Darkstar," she said.

She didn't know what it was, but he felt utterly transformed from his normal self. Radiating confidence, he seemed prepared to overcome any challenge. Their fingers entwined; they exchanged deep gazes as he guided them forward.

Upon halting, her eyes widened in disbelief.

"Kyle, did you decorate this place?" Apple asked.

With a modest nod and an arm sheepishly behind his head, Kyle admitted to his handiwork, bashful yet proud.

"It's enchanting!"

***

Kyle's tension eased, thankful his efforts at decorating weren't horrible. The fireflies converged around Apple, who raised her hands and twirled, dancing in their luminescent embrace. Kyle was inwardly astounded by his luck in discovering such an extraordinary girl. The Storybook of Legends had led her to him, and now they stood on the brink of their own 'happily ever after.'

Approaching the princess, Kyle rested a hand on her shoulder. She turned, their eyes meeting once more. Gently, he caressed her cheek, tucking her hair behind her ear as his fingers glided through her soft curls.

'It's now or never,' Kyle thought.

"Starlight, I may not be perfect, but I would be honored if you would accompany me to the Thronecoming dance as my date."

***

'Raven was right, he asked me!'

Overwhelmed with joy, Apple leaped into Kyle's embrace and wrapped her arms around his neck.

***

"Of course I'll go with you!"

Without a moment's delay, they leaned in for a kiss. The softness of her lips against his was undeniable, and neither wanted to break away. Kyle could feel Apple's heart pounding as he embraced her. After their tender kiss, Apple rested her head on his chest, and he gently leaned his on top of her head.

"You're perfect to me, Darkstar. Don't you ever forget that," Apple said with a beaming smile.

Kyle looked down to meet Apple's glowing smile once again. They moved closer for another deep kiss, enveloped in the moonlight's embrace.

You truly are the apple of my eye.

A faint shutter sound emanated from a MirrorPhone in the distance.

"So, little Miss Perfect has a dirty little secret," Duchess whispered with a sly chuckle.

Duchess zoomed in on the photo she captured of the star-crossed lovers.

"Enjoy your night, 'cause tomorrow will be a day you will never forget."
