August 3rd (35 days left of Summer)

Dixie woke up in her bed, wearing the same clothes as the night before. She couldn't remember anything after she cried to her mom. She assumed she had fallen asleep crying and her mom took her to her bed. The events of last night flooded her head and she felt like throwing up. Everybody was mad at her, and she had no clue how to fix any of it.

She was the last one to wake, and she walked into a dead silent kitchen to grab some food. She sat at the table with everyone else and ate her food. Nobody said a word, whether they were too angry to speak or didn't know what to say was unclear. But it was evident no one wanted to say the first words.

Dixie softly said, "Good morning." Addison simply responded with, "Anything but..." and continued to eat her eggs. Well, there goes table talk...

They had all finished their breakfast and were browsing on their phones. Mrs. Beck speaks up cheerily, trying to lift the mood, but everyone could tell she was faking it. "So we have to be back at the airport in about 2 hours, at 1:00 pm." "Can we switch seats?" They all turned to Addison who had blurted it out. "I wanna sit next to Charli."

This plane had a different setup, The parents would be sitting in the middle row with two kids on each side of the plane. Yesterday afternoon they had decided that the siblings would sit next to each other. But now that Addison was mad at Dixie and Noah, she didn't want to be anywhere near her brother. Dixie didn't know if she wanted to change so she could sit next to Charli, or so Dixie would have to sit next to Noah. Either way, she was nervous.

Mrs. Beck looks at Addison, "Well, I guess as long as the others are ok with it." Charli happily agreed and Noah just lightly nodded. They all turned to Dixie who let out a quiet, "That's fine." She didn't have the energy to argue and she figured she deserved it anyway.

Marc spoke up, keeping his eyes on Noah, "I don't really want Dixie and Noah sitting next to each other." Dixie and Noah hadn't spoken to their parents about what Charli and Addison had revealed last night, and they were both dreading how the conversation would be brought up. The parents had woken up earlier than the kids and decided not to bring it up yet since they could tell they had enough on their hands.

Dixie sighed, "We're not talking to each other right now... in case you couldn't tell." Dixie spoke in a defeated tone. She didn't know how to fix things with him, he didn't do anything wrong but she couldn't have been a bigger jerk. She hadn't even told him that she loved him. Did he still think that she didn't?

Heidi intervened, "Alright, why don't we go get ready and then pack our bags. I know last night wasn't the best for you guys but before that, it was a pretty great trip!" They lightly smiled, they agreed with her but were too lost in thought to respond with enthusiasm.

1:30 pm (Hawaii Time)

They were boarding the plane back to Los Angeles. Dixie and Noah were not prepared for a 6-hour flight next to each other. Noah was hurt by Dixie, he didn't know at this point how she truly felt about him. He knew she was in a tough spot, but he thought she'd always pick Addison over him, and that upset him. He loved Dixie, and as much as he hated it to be true, nothing she did was going to change that.

"You want the window seat?" Dixie was surprised to hear him talk to her. She didn't know if he was ignoring her, or just didn't know what to say. "Uhm, whatever you want." "You can take it." That made the most sense, she was closest to it when standing in the aisle. She sat down and slid her bag under the seat, Noah did the same.

They sat in silence as everyone else was taking their seats

They sat in silence as everyone else was taking their seats. They didn't even take out their phones, they just stared at the seats in front of them waiting for the plane to take off.

Dixie felt herself become anxious. She started to freak out, she couldn't have a panic attack now, she just couldn't. But she had no way of calming herself down. She couldn't take out Claire, she didn't know if that would make Noah upset or not. She could feel it getting worse.

She stood straight up in her seat and rested her arms on the armrests. She started tapping her foot silently on the ground, getting faster and faster with each passing second. She turned and looked out the window trying to distract herself and hide her face from Noah. This was a different kind of Panic Attack. She wasn't crying, she was just extremely anxious and out of touch. She couldn't say anything without bursting into tears, she just sat there trying to breathe, well enough that it worked but calm enough that Noah wouldn't notice.

Noah noticed Dixie tapping her foot on the floor and turned to see her. She was facing the window, but he could make out her facial expression and it was not good. He could see the fear in her eyes and could tell how desperately she was trying to calm herself.

He hated himself for what he was about to do. He put his arm on the rest, grabbed Dixie's hand, and intertwined their fingers. He gently squeezed her hand, trying to reassure her. He didn't look at her as he did so, just grabbed his phone and started listening to music in his earbuds.

Dixie slowly turned her head and looked at their hands. She took a few breaths and looked at Noah. He was squeezing her hand but wouldn't look at her, an annoyed expression stuck on his face. She squeezed his hand back and started to relax in her chair. She closed her eyes and took a few long, slow breaths.

Before she knew it they were in the air. She had almost calmed down completely but didn't want to let go. She kept hold of him and turned on a movie. For the rest of the plane ride, they didn't even glance at one another but their hands stayed glued.

10:00 pm (L.A. Time)

They landed in Los Angeles and Noah immediately let go of her hand and grabbed his bags. Dixie felt awful. She wanted to talk with Noah, but she figured it'd be better to do it tomorrow when it wasn't so late and they were less jetlagged.

They got off the plane and waited for the others to join them. Charli and Addison came out laughing but stopped when they saw Dixie and Noah. They stood next to them in uncomfortable silence until their parents joined them. They did a quick headcount and headed back to their car.

The Becks decided they would take an uber back as opposed to riding with the D'Amelios in an attempt to ease the tension. Charli and Dixie sat in the back of the car staring out the window. "So how was the trip for you guys?" Marc looked back at them, "Come on, it was a fun trip! What was your favorite part?" Dixie glanced at Charli, knowing she wouldn't answer first, "I really liked learning how to snorkel. That whole day really was so much fun!" Heidi chimed in, "I loved that day too, but I preferred lounging on the beach." Dixie and Charli both chuckle.

The rest of the car ride was bearable. Their parents had asked questions to move the conversation along so It was much easier for Charli and Dixie to talk to each other, or rather near each other. They never spoke directly to one another.

"I still don't understand why you didn't tell me.." "Cause it's none of your business Addi!" Noah and Addison had been bickering back and for the whole ride and their parents couldn't bear it. But they didn't know how to stop it, it was a conversation they needed to have. Even though they still didn't entirely know why they were fighting, they knew the gist of it.

"It is my business, Noah! My best friend and my twin brother?!" "You have no right to control what we do!" "She knew it would hurt me, and she didn't care!" Noah snapped at her, "Actually, she cared a lot, ok? A lot more than you probably think..." Addison just stared at him. He seemed really hurt. Why? What happened with him and Dixie? She thought about what he had said and stopped arguing for the rest of the ride.

hey bubs! <3

I like this episode cause it's sweet in a sad way. Here's a question! Whos' side are you on? Did Addi deserve to know about Doah or was Noah right and it's not Addi's business? (word count- 1563)
