Chapter : 44 - The Betrayal.

"Why are you wearing a turtle neck sweater? You're not in Delhi remember?" My mom asked taking a bite of her roti and I licked my lips and looked at her.

"While I went to wash my face I ruined the previous sweater and well, I am feeling cold. Hyderabad is getting colder day by day. Isn't it?" I smiled at her and she nodded.

"You are feeling cold? She always looked for reasons now to wear sweaters when you were younger." She said taking another bite.

"Well, now I'm grown up maa. Now I find they stylish and cozy." I said and she nodded again.

"Well mom, I'm done with the dinner. I'll go now." I said getting up from the table and taking my plate with me.

"Annu, will you talk to your dad?" She asked and I stopped right in my tracks.

"About what?" I said in a stern voice.

"About everything Annu. I'd like to see your relationship with your dad better." She said and I shook my head.

"Maa, don't try to mend our relationship. It's not gonna work. Ever." I said and walked away into the kitchen and placed my plate in the sink and rushed back upstairs.

I unlocked the door and sat outside on the jhula and closed my eyes to calm down my thoughts. My mind travelled to Aryan and a tiny smile made its way to my lips. I smiled at the sensation of his lips on my neck and his warmth, his arms around me. I opened my eyes shook my head and bit my lip.

No Annu, c'mon don't fall for him!

But I think it's too late, I do feel something. Ughh!

I battled with my thoughts for a few minutes trying to figure out what's going on. Many questions made their way into my mind which I've been avoiding. Does he really love me? I asked myself hugging my knees to myself and I stretched. My phone started ringing beside me and the screen once again flashed his name. Siraj.

I took a deep breath and answered his phone.

"Hello?" I said in a calm voice.

"Hello Anaaya? You said you'd call but you didn't so I did!" He said in a desperate tone and I rubbed my eyes.

"Yes. It's okay. Siraj, I don't think I can talk to you for so long. Tell me what you wanted to." I said and I heard him sigh at the end of his line.

"Yes Anaaya. I understand. I totally understand where you're coming from but just listen to me Anaaya. If you still feel like not talking to me I'll not disturb you." He said in a sincere voice and I agreed.

"Yes. Tell me." I said.

"Anaaya... firstly, I want to say I'm sorry. I'm really sorry Anaaya but I didn't want to do it. I didn't kiss Ivy." He said pleadingly and I sighed.

"Okay, I understand Siraj but-"

"I want you back Anaaya! As my girlfriend. I really like you, so much more than I thought I did." He said.

"Siraj, please. I can't, I-" I said not sounding rude.

"Anaaya please, just give me a chance. I just want another chance. I'll never hurt you ever again!" He said desperately which a bit sounded weird but I took a deep breath and answered again.

"Anaaya are you there-"

"Siraj I can't, I really can't I thought I liked you, but turns out I did not. I- I think I- like someone else. I'm sorry." I sounded apologetic.
