the boys walked into the garage, all talking and laughing with each other. reggie had just said something funny, alex shoving him slightly, and they all squeezed through the doorway.

the boys stopped, though, as they all saw julie sitting in the middle of the floor. her eyes casted down.

"hey, you alright?" alex, with his softer touch voice, spoke.

julie looked up, and tried to put on a smile, "yeah, just..." she looked down again, "just one of those days." all the boys seem to get it, staying silent as the girl continued, "it's a year, today." julie spoke after some silence, nodding, "it's been a year without her."

"yeah..." the boys sighed and stood awkwardly, "look where you are now though." luke said, quietly, but optimistically. julie smiled, nodding, "she'd be so proud of you."

her hands went to open a big brown box sitting in front of her. all the boys sat in a semi circle across from her, ready to comfort her.

"what's in there?" reggie said as he found his spot on the floor.

"this is all my moms old stuff, clothes, cds, the like." she shrugged, "going through it makes me feel closer to her." she sighed, but then her head tilted slightly, "i actually had a question to ask you guys."

the boys eyes perked up at that, but they all waited for her to continue.

"flynn found this in here a while ago," she held up a white shirt, one that made the boys gasp. it was a fresh white tshirt, with black letters spelling out 'sunset curve' on the front. small silver gems lined the words, adding a little sparkle to the shirt.

luke's jaw dropped as he looked around at the boys, and the memory came back to all of them.

"thanks." the girl smiled, taking the band shirt from reggies grasp, "i'll make sure not to wipe the table with this one." and she slung it over her shoulder.

"oh, good call." alex cringed, "whenever they get wet, they kinda just fall apart in your hands."

she laughed, finishing up the table she was cleaning prior to the boys introduction.

luke's jaw tightened. he didn't know what to say, exactly. for one, he wasnt completely sure it was her, reggie had given shirts to multiple people outside of the club that night as well. but two, the memory he had of that woman cheering them on inside the club did resemble julie. the brown hair, the spanish accent. why she was so beautiful.

it all made sense, and the possibility settled into the boys for a few seconds.

"size beautiful." reggie said reminiscently, and luke squinted at the boy, shaking his head.

"what?" julie said.

"nothing." luke groaned, but his eyes tightened suspiciously, "but we may have met your mom." alex hand immediately went to slap the boys shoulder.

"what!?" luke said, "it all makes sense. i mean, she looked exactly like her!" the boys expression showed they agreed, but neither of them were ready to give the girl a false sense of hope.

"ok, it's possible." alex nodded, "when we left for the street dogs that night, there was a woman there cheering us on during our rehearsal. bobbie stayed back to talk to her," all the boys rolled their eyes, "but we gave her one of those tshirts."

"i'm sure of it." luke concluded.

julies breath hitched in her throat, "oh my gosh." she sighed, "i can't believe it. i cant believe you guys could've actually met my mom."

"me neither," reggie sighed as well, "especially since we were all hitting on her-" the boy got interrupted by a slap from alex, and julies face showed disgusted.

"seriously!?" alex said, "not the time man."

luke just laughed, "it was really just bobbie," he said, "he tried to impress her by being a vegetarian." all the boys rolled their eyes again, "he stayed with her while we went to get street dogs." julie nodded, the timeline making sense now.

"flynn was right." julie shook her head, but her eyes perked up a second later, "wait!" her words made the boys jump, "bobbie might know more! about my mom! maybe they became friends or something!" she gasped, getting excited, but the boys faces went still.

the boys dreaded the day they had to speak to bobbie again, the despise they had for him made them all rather die again than face the man who stole their music. but, they would all do anything for julie to be happy. and it involved her mom, so how could they saw no to that anyway?

"alright," luke sighed, getting up to his feet, "time to get some answers. let's go boys."
